Aloha Hawaiian BBQ

This place is one of my faves. I love Hawaiian BBQ. I order the chicken katsu with brown rice. Macaroni salad is amaaaaziiing. The service is great too.
The katsu sauce was cold. Normally it’s in a hot thermos dispenser. I asked politely if they could get me some warm katsu sauce. The gentlemen was kind enough to warm some up for me I. The back and bring it back out to me.
This place rocks!

There are many Hawaii transplants like myself that now call Corona home, and something we all have in common is a desire to find places here that serve the food we grew up with. There are several favorite places back in Hawaii that I will always compare ‘Hawaiian food’ restaurants to, and that bar is set pretty high. That being said, Aloha Hawaiian BBQ does a decent job of fitting the bill (and having the Hawaiian Sun juices there doesn’t hurt either).
BBQ chicken, chicken katsu, kalbi (short ribs), mahi mahi, kalua pork and cabbage, and loco moco are all staples of any plate lunch place… and they need to come with macaroni salad and rice (although we’re accustomed to «two scoops rice» instead of just the one you get here). One thing I see on their menu that I’ve never seen on any menu in Hawaii is «Crispy White Fish (Swai)». Also, «Honey Walnut Shrimp» is something you find at Panda Express, not a Hawaiian plate lunch restaurant.
Two items I’ve tried that definitely fall a bit short are the short ribs and the Spam musubi. The short ribs need a tastier marinade and a thicker cut. When I ordered it, the pieces had almost more fat than meat. As for the Spam musubi, you’d think these are an easy slam dunk, but I’m still on the hunt for some really good ones. The ones here are okay, but a little too dry. I recommend getting some extra teriyaki sauce to give them a helping hand.
One thing you should alway try is the loco moco. I’ve been calling it «The Cholesterol Special» since I was a kid, but it’s phenomenal comfort food. The ingredients are simple: fried egg (s) and hamburger patty (ies) on rice smothered in gravy. Seasonings will vary with the hamburger and gravy, but generally speaking you can’t go wrong.
As for the restaurant itself, it is clean, has a television and plenty of seating. The employees are generally helpful, but I did see one guy who was totally frazzled and was mixing-​up orders. Wait time usually runs anywhere from 10 – 15 minutes for your food. Parking has never been a problem, but it does get busier around dinner time and on the weekends.

Came here for a lunch once and now I keep coming back. Consistent flavor and quality they are fast if your are on your lunch work break come here you get what you need just in time i will continue to come here

Hawaiian food is hard to find in Riverside county. I was in this area so was excited to finally eat some good Hawaiian food. The interior was modern and immaculately clean. The cashier was friendly and he also brought the food out to me which was a nice upgrade. I ordered their Hawaiian chicken bbq mini meal for $ 5.79. It included rice and mac salad. The size was pretty generous. The chicken was decent (still prefer L & L’s) and the mac salad was good. Great value for the price. May return here if I am in the area.

The food is consistently delicious. The Hawaiian BBQ chicken, spam musubi, and macaroni salad are bomb. The establishment is also very clean and the food is presented nicely. The people that work there are always nice too (: definitely one of my favorite places in Corona.

Tasty alternative to traditional BBQ. The veggies are fresh and cooked to perfection.

As Hawaiian BBQ goes on the mainland, this place is as good as several others. The cooder graw here for me is the saimin. Not very many places serve it and for this native Hawaiian, it’s one of best local island foods I miss since becoming a Socal resident many years ago. It’s not authentic saimin, but it still curbs my saimin crave.

BBQ plate is the best!

We’ve been going here for years. Food is great. It just like going to L&L BBQ and tastes the same. The chicken katsu, BBQ mix, and saimen noodles is what we normally get. The spam wasubi is something we started to get and it is delicous. The cashier (young guy) is nice but he has this stance that is a little odd where he looks at you with his head tilted up when listening. Aside from that everyone there is cool.

This was the first time I’ve been here and it was pretty good. Typically I always go to L&L for the Spam Masubi but but they do not have anything spam so I decided I was going to be switching it up today! Change it good!
The staff was super nice while I was trying to decide what to get. I got the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken with brown rice. We got it to go so we sat at a table and chatted and when it was ready they brought our food to us all wrapped up.
The restaurant was clean and the décor was very tropical tiki style, as you could imagine. My brother had the Seafood combo with Chicken which was good as well. We got three different items (Seafood combo and two Hawiian BBQ chickens) and two drinks for $ 27. Not too shabby. If you are in the mood for something delicious, great service and rather quick then I would recommend coming here.

My husband and I absolutely loved the food from this restaurant. My 4 year old picky eater also loved it. They have so much to choose from and mixed combos to give you a taste of different meats and or chicken. I recommended it to my Mom and she went with her friend from work and they also loved it.

I have been here a few times and I generally like the food. It’s not the best but definitely far from worse. Last time I went in I ordered the chicken tatsu to go and it was extremely dry and chewy. The macaroni salad was also quite bland. I’m still going to go back because it could have been a bad day for the cook. I’m usually more than satisfied

The food was blah. The macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants is normally my favorite. Theirs had a weird taste to it kind of like it was bad. I didn’t eat it. We waited forever for our food. Staff was nice though. I will drive a little further and go eat Hawaiian at Ono in Norco.

I’ve been here several times now, and I really enjoy it.
The service is good, and so is their food.
The Kalua pork is amazing! Its tender and very flavorful.
Their meals come with the cabbage, rice, and macaroni salad. It’s all so good.

Restaurant is clean but terrible service. No enthusiasm and did not know the menu. Probably why she did not have a name tag.
Note to the cashier, when people ask questions don’t treat them like they’re stupid and don’t roll your eyes. Never coming back

This place was always just avg because of the high price and small portions compared to other Hawaiian BBQ places. Today I had to leave a review since my last times visit (3 weeks ago) was just the same as today, maybe even worse.
I ordered the #2 which I believe is the Hawaiian BBQ combo to go. I got home in 5 minutes to some food that really disappointed me. Let me just add that a couple of months ago, I would have given this place a 3.5−4 stars, but today had me post this review. As I opened the plate, I had a hard piece of kalbi which the texture was just about as hard as a beef jerky. It was a tiny piece also. Had 3 pieces of chicken and 2 measly pieces of bbq beef. Rice portion and Mac salad was still the same.
For over $ 9 this meal is definitely not worth it. I’d rather go next door to flame broiler or drop by Aloha Hawaiian BBQ in Tustin on my way home from work. You gotta try Aloha. They serve great food and they give you so much for $ 9 that you can’t even keep the lid closed!
Sad to say but I think this will be my last visit to this place.
I have no idea how people gave this place 5 stars. This must be their first time eating Hawaiian food like this.

After purchasing a a 7 – 11 Double Gulp in Canyon Country, my bladder demanded a stop in Corona. A great big sign for Pieology lured me off the freeway, but I decided I didn’t want to spend that much time stopped. So after driving around the area just off the highway, and perusing my options, I decided upon this place. I parked the car across the crowded lot in a spot that made me feel warm & fuzzy, and then walked over to the restaurant. As I walked in I took a gander. The place was wood, and Hawaiian themed. Tikis were everywhere, and a waterfall was set up on one wall. A TV played travel channel, and it was telling me all the super cool hot-​spots of Venice Beach.
I entered, and quickly found the restroom. It was clean, and fairly non-​automatic. After emptying my bladder, I returned out to the counter very much feeling better. As I approached the counter, nice girl stood up from her chair to take my order. I looked around on their menu board for SPAM. Because I like SPAM. SPAM is cool. I was saddened when I saw no SPAM, so I settled for the Hawaiian BBQ Mix. Cute girl rang me up, nine and change got me a carnivore sampler of short ribs, chicken and beef. As she rang up my card we discussed plans for the day. My plans involved more driving. She told me she wasn’t fond of driving. Nice girl then asked where I’d be eating, and I informed her that I’d be dining inside the restaurant. I then went to sit at a table beneath the television, and prepared to learn about the hot spots of Venice Beach.
After a little while, I had been totally convinced that it would be a really fun idea to go down to a particular skateboard store in Venice Beach to buy a skate board. When suddenly a bag was placed in front of me. Girl said ‘Oh ya, this was for here…” and then wandered off. I opened up the bag to find an assortment of sauces and plastic cutlery. I removed everything from the bag, and opened up the Styrofoam container and began the composition of my food photo. After the photo, I speared a short rib with a fork, and clumsily tried to manipulate it. After fumbling pitifully for a bit, I picked the dang thing up with my hands and tore it apart. I focused on the short ribs with my hands, and then turned to the chicken and beef. They were good. I enjoyed all of it. The basket also had a small scoop of Macaroni Salad and a scoop of rice. I never did understand the Macaroni salad connection to the Hawaiian BBQ. Wasn’t complaining, just didn’t understand it.
I finished up my meal fairly quickly, and then washed my hands again. (I do my best not to drive in the car with messy hands) I thanked the girl behind the counter, and exited the establishment. Not sure if I’ll return, but it was definitely a pleasant place to stop for a quick bite before getting back on the busy traffic-​key road… and I think I still want to go to that skateboard shop in Venice beach for a skateboard.
