My family has been using Pam and swim champs for three years, I have three children and trust her completely. For those of you who do not know the program, Pam teaches children to swim in her very own backyard, in a heated pool, and in a very calm environment. With my first child, we started at Aquatics Zone and it was a complete disaster! My little girl woke up crying every morning asking whether or not we were going back to the Aquatics Zone. I heard about Swim Champs and decided to give it a try. I thought one on one lessons was the best way for my child to learn how to swim. My daughter was completely terrified to put her head in the water, blow bubbles, or pick up toys from the bottom of the pool. Within two weeks, Pam had her swimming with her face and head in the water! The first day it was difficult because I had to hand her my child who was kicking screaming and crying. Pam was able to calm her down in a couple of minutes and promised her that she would never lie to her and always tell her what they were about to do. It is very difficult to watch your child struggle, however Pam helped us get through it. They will get your child swimming :-) This woman seriously performs miracles. I have watched her with my own children, special needs children, and adults. Age 4 is when I really have seen my children learn the swimming process quickly. Also, I wanted to mention that Pam is incredibly accommodating. There have been a few times over the last three Summers when I’ve had to change plans or things have come up and she tries her best to reschedule. She tends to fill up months ahead of time, so book early! Do not waste your time at group swim lessons, save your money and go to Swim Champs, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Pam!!! We had a pool put in with nightmares of our youngest not knowing how to swim… Pam was our saving grace. The best ever!

We decided to sign my 3 ½ year old son up for lessons here after hearing nothing but rave reviews from people we knew. This was my son’s first experience swimming other than when he was very little and we would dip him in the pool with us. When we got to the lesson they rushed him right into the water. They didn’t evaluate his skill level at all and only asked me one simple question… «Is he ok putting his face in the water?». I answered yes under the impression that he is ok with getting some water splashed on his face or in his eyes here and there. I’ve seen my son put his head in the water in the bath and blow occasional bubbles,(which some kids freak about) so I figured this was what they were talking about for a 3 year old. Long story short, the instructor was trying to get my son,(a toddler who has never swam before) to put goggles on and dunk his head under the water to reach for a toy under water on the stairs. Not only was this a complete stranger that he had never met before and had spent all of 5 minutes with, but she was asking him to do what seemed to me to be an incredibly advanced step for a child who was literally just getting their feet wet! My son was totally fine letting her support his body while he got used to the water, but he did NOT want to put his head under the water to get that toy. My husband and I watched the whole thing on the side while it was happening. She asked him a few times to put his head under and he just wouldn’t so she took his head and pushed it under without any warning in what seemed to us to also be forceful. After that, my son was very scared. His tears escalated into a full blown kicking screaming tantrum and it wasn’t being in the water he was afraid of. He was very upset because this lady just shoved his head under the water when he wasn’t ready. At that point we knew that my son was not going to work with this instructor. Right after this incident occurred we let them know that my son was not going to respond to any further instruction for the day and the lady got defensive. Instead of saying ok, lets let him calm down and try again next time she promptly went over to her check book, came back with a refund check and said«sorry it didn’t work out for you with us, have a nice day!». Clearly they knew they did something wrong because I didn’t ask for a refund, just was trying to let the lady know that my son did not respond well to being forced under water and right after she shoved us out the door! I was honestly in such shock over all of this that I didn’t completely know how to respond! I was so excited to take my son to these«professionals» who were going to be the first people to teach my son how to get used to the water and here this happens in a matter of minutes! I’m sorry, but forcing someone to do something they are not ready to do is violating, especially in their first few minutes of being in the water! I have never spent any time writing a review before, but these people are unprofessional and I would rate them zero stars if I could! They also charge very high rates. Save your money… I would hate for anyone else to have their kid experience what we just went through!

Was over at my friends house watching her 3 year old swim across the pool. I couldn’t believe a 3 year old could swim all by their self. I asked how did she learn to swim? My friend told me all about Swimchamps and Miss Pam. When I have children someday I will take them here to learn to swim!

The lessons are fine — they do a decent job with mid-level kids. Don’t waste the money with toddlers — not worth the individual instruction. Owner Pam not very willing to accommodate scheduling changes.
