I will not go to this event again. I had reservations about it from the start knowing that it would be a $ 250 evening for my husband and me, but as it turned out it was $ 260 since we still had to pay $ 10 to park.(Really, Hotel Del? I didn’t fancy you being so cheap.) The setting as another reviewer observed was very pretty with the dinner reception set up in the garden area(BTW, would have been nice to know that the reception was in fact OUTSIDE as then I could have dressed more warmly.). And the Del did an equally impressive job of decking out the Crown Room for the latter half of the evening. However, for $ 125 per person, I did not expect to be handed 2 drink tickets to turn in for your choice of a watered-down cocktail, beer, house wine, soda, or bottle of water. And then to make matters worse, the bars only accepted cash if you wanted anything else to drink after having used said drink tickets. OK, so they had wine samples in the back of the garden area which a lot of people seemed to take advantage of, but once the party moved into the Crown Room, you were on your own. Very disappointed with the Del’s decision to cheap it out with the alcohol and still charge party-goers to park. The hors d’oeuvres were tasty but not exceptional. I did enjoy seeing everyone dressed up and having a good time, and the DJ played my Gaga request immediately, but on balance I don’t think it was $ 260 worth of fun.

Beautiful setting and a well planned out evening. The evening starts with a wonderful wine tasting and appetizers in the garden area. The wine selections are endless with multiple stations to visit for variety. The food was plentiful too: suckling pig pulled pork sandwiches, clam pizza, meats and cheeses and fruits just to name a few options. Just the reception was a party in itself. Everyone was friendly and sociable and the costumes were amazing. Some people are terribly creative with their selections. The environment was relaxing and calm, but also romantic. Then it’s off to the special event with music, dancing and food. Some of the food options were a ceviche bar, pumpkin soup, short ribs and much, much more. There was also a large dessert bar with endless options. There was a bar inside and all participants had two drink coupons to start, then you buy your own drinks after that. The music was a fun variety of different types of music. People were dancing, sitting at tables talking and generally walking around. The hostesses also walked around with drinks to try and other promotional items from Bacardi. The party was a blast and we really enjoyed ourselves. It also seemed that many of the attendees had also gone to the event the year before and recognized other party goes. It’s a wonderful grown up costume party, which adds to the fun for the evening.
