We came down to San Diego touring all the local breweries well needing a break from beer we ventured Coronado and stumbled upon wine a bit. Courtney was working an was extremely helpful, personable, accommodating and friendly. I work in human resources at Nordstrom(where customer service is our #1 priority) to make a living and this is definitely the service that is demanded for business these days. People and customer service like Courtney’s is what keeps a business up and running. Not to mention the food, wine and ambiance was excellent. We will be returning when we’re back on the island.

Amazing wine selection for a GREAT price! Wonderful service and good food! Cheese plate comes with a good amount of cheeses and I would recommend adding on salami. Spinach & artichoke dip was mouth watering. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy some more wonderful wines!

I used a Groupon for wine and cheese tasting for two people. It was a decent spread for the $ 25 I paid for the Groupon(but I had to pay a bit more in the store – see below), although I hope that no one pays the full $ 44 for the tasting. You could buy a few bottles of wine and most of the cheeses for the same amount of money. The ambiance in the tasting area was cute, the service was friendly, and the live music was great. The wine selections all tasted very good. A true wine connoisseur would probably not be satisfied, but I was happy and satisfied with the tasting flight! The deal with the Groupon was a little strange. After redeeming my Groupon, the cashier told me I had to pay $ 3 sales tax before I got the tasting. Although it appears that this is legal(i.e., Groupon indicates that you may owe sales tax for the goods and services you purchase with your Groupon), I have never had a business charge me sales tax after I redeemed a Groupon. I would presume most businesses take the sales tax out of the money they get from the Groupon as opposed to charging customers extra once they are in the store. The«sales tax» charge was definitely bizarre and added to the long list of «fine print» that was not presented prior to purchasing the Groupon, including tastings only being available at certain times and on certain days/requiring advanced reservations, etc. Also, for the value of $ 25 worth of wine and cheese, sales tax would be $ 2, so again, I’m at a loss as to how they calculated this tax and why they choose to operate in this manner. If you buy the Groupon, be ready to shell out a few extra bucks before you see any wine or cheese, but for a grand total of $ 14/person($ 28 total) for a wine and cheese tasting flight, it is not that bad.

I’ve stopped into Wine a Bit a few times when I was down south visiting my daughter who lives in the area. Many of my stops in were pleasant as the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great which made it easy to overlook the fact that many of their wines can be found at BevMo at a lower cost, I actually even found one wine at Costco which kind of takes away from their claim of only carrying«boutique wines» unless Costco and BevMo have suddenly become boutiques. As I said the staff WAS good and the atmosphere WAS great, until my most recent couple of visits that is with my most recent being the one to set me over the edge. During my first couple of visits earlier in the year the staff seemed happy and they were on the ball. I was usually served by a young blond girl, I think her name was either Lisa or Lindsay. She was friendly, had great suggestions, and delivered everything quickly which no issues. The food there is, well, okay. The cheese tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for too long and the flatbreads were average. I never really ordered food there after my first try of their food, it just wasn’t for me. Fast forward a few months to another visit over the summer, I popped into the shop to enjoy a glass of wine and music but immediately upon entering I noticed that the atmosphere had changed and things were tense. It was a super busy Saturday night but I managed to find a seat and order a glass of wine. Shortly after I ordered, I witnessed an older blonde lady approach the bar with a glass of wine in her hand, she yelled, slammed her hand down on the bar, and proceeded to demand something from the already very busy staff behind the bar(one of whom was the server I mentioned before). I think the lady was the owner because I had seen her in the back during past visits and as patron it was rather shocking to see and employer treat employees in such a way. I quickly finished my glass of wine and grabbed a bottle to take back to my hotel. After a struggle to open said bottle because the cork was dry and it broke off so I had to push it through, the wine tasted as if it had been stored at improper temperatures. I didn’t have time to return with the bottle the next day because I had to leave early the next morning so I ended up dumping it. I didn’t return to the bar for several months after this visit because it was a pretty bad one but I recently decided to give them another shot. BIGMISTAKE. I went into the shop in a Saturday to pick up a couple gifts since I knew they would have something for my wine loving friends. While I was there I decided to have a quick glass of wine. The middle age blonde guy working at the time could barely muster the gusto to look up from the computer to say hello. I thought there must be something more important than a customer on that screen but whatever. I browsed the store a bit and sat down at the bar for my glass. The guy finally walked over to serve me and being the people pleaser I am I tried to have a conversation with him. This guy went on and on about cars, himself, and various other things. It’s pretty sad that this bar claims to have nothing pretentious about it when this guy was the most pretentious person I’d ever laid eyes on. I asked him if there would be music in the evening and if he knew if my favorite server was working that evening. Upon the mention of her description he rolled his eyes and got a bit snippy as he told me that she was no longer there. When I said that it was too bad because she was good he kind of scoffed at me and then plopped back to the computer. There must be a story there but I don’t want to know. I quickly finished up my glass, paid my bill, and left. This place has been going downhill for a while and it’s sad because it’s a cute little shop with a good idea; the execution of the idea is where it fails. There are many better places to enjoy a glass of wine in Coronado and far more affordable places to buy the wine that the offer.

I was given a groupon for a wine tasting with cheese pairing for two and used it for a Saturday evening. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the wines and the ambiance was pleasant. My favorite was the moscato with the hint of guava, which was the last of the 7 tastings. Call to make a reservation prior to your wine tasting and be prepared to stand for the wine tasting, there are no chairs. Overall a great experience.

I bought a groupon for wine tasting for two, I’ll start with the positives of my experience. The establishment was nice, servers were friendly they had live music, the grapes, and sesame seed crackers were good. As for the negatives it was very crowded and really small. As far as the wine selections they were dreadful. I like moscato, and smooth somewhat sweet wines. In white and reds. But all of the selections were flat strong and terrible. For a one time experience it was great, however won’t be doing it again.

We went here early afternoon this past Saturday. The wine and cheese platter was fine, but Lindsey/Lindsay wasn’t very friendly. Let’s go with Lindsay. Lindsay immediately asked her co-worker(with attitude) if we were even 21. No, we aren’t. We, as underaged individuals, just decided to come here for wine tasting. Really, Lindsay? She didn’t even try to whisper. You’re so slick, Lindsay. Good job. Anyways, her co-worker told her that she should check, but she refused. She then ordered her co-worker, a much more friendly gentleman, to check our IDs and serve us. Maybe she didn’t think we would tip her? Not only was she not friendly with us, but she also gave her co-worker attitude. I’m only giving this place 3 stars because of the good service the gentleman gave us. It was also entertaining listening to these ditsy, blonde customers flirt with him, «OMG, neighbors!!! Are you gonna be here later? We’ll be back!» We, on the other hand, will not be back.

My wife and I stopped there one evening just for a glass of wine and some cheese. We sat our front and there was another couple there as well … perhaps about 8 or 10 people inside so they weren’t overly busy. The place looked cute and inviting, however it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come out and actually take our order. We just wanted something simple — 2 glasses of wine and the goat cheese. It took a little white, but our wine was brought out and we weren’t all that impressed … but that isn’t really any fault of the establishment. We sat chatting for a bit and after about 20 minutes we asked the waitress about the goat cheese. The deer in the headlights look was enough to let us know that she never placed the order for us(really … 2 glasses of wine and some goat cheese wasn’t that difficult of an order). After a few minutes, we got the goat cheese and … well … it wasn’t the best cheese we’ve ever had. All in all, not the best of experiences.

I found Wine A Bit on Groupon. I’m glad I did! They offered 7 tastings along with a great cheese pairing. The tasting room is tucked in the back, check in at the register an receive your first taste. You also receive 10% off if you decide to purchase any of the wines in the tasting. The tasting room is very intimate. I appreciated the hooks under the counter to hang your purse. Each time you are ready for the next taste, you take your glass up to the bar. The guy conducting the tasting had a great sense of humor and did a great job keeping track of which wines everyone was on. Extra crackers at the bar if you need more. They have a wide variety of wines and accessories to choose from. The truffles were amazing! We stuck around to have a glass of wine on the patio before heading off to dinner ~ Very relaxing! I’ll definitely be returning!

This place is one of the coolest spots in Coronado that mostly locals know about, but you can tell tourists have found out about it too! My wife and I have been to wine a bit probably a dozen times over the last 2 years and here is what I would share: 1. It’s always a great experience in a relaxed atmosphere, great unique wines, craft beer and really, really good flat bread pizzas. 2. On weekends there is live music, nice lighting, great ambiance. Perfect for a date! Only a block from lambs players theater. 3. They have a program that gives you FREE corkage at a lot of the best local restaurants. Buying wine from them literally pays for itself. One of the coolest programs I have seen. 4. The owners Patty and Dale are there pretty often and they are lovely people who are very knowledgeable about their wines. Always enjoy talking with them. Definitely a 5 star experience!

I’ve been to Wine A Bit twice using the wine tasting groupon. I really enjoy the wine tasting selections that they have to offer. They have a great variety of reds and whites and I always love the ending moscato. Something to note though is that all tastings occur in a standing only tasting room. Unlike experiences at wineries, this is a small room where you’re very close to those around you. They do provide great cheese and meat pairings to compliment the wines as part of the tasting.

Very nice place to have a seat and enjoy a glass of vino. I recommend the artisan cheese plate to accompany your choice of wine. Bottom lines: Service-Great Choices-tons! Atmosphere-very memorable. Lots of seats for«two.» Seating-inside and outside for enjoying the weather or getting out of it. Restrooms-clean(but you need the code) Selection of wine merchandise-you will find something you’ll like/want. I’ll be back!

With a big selection of wines and truffles, I was one happy lady! About twenty wines by the glass, I chose a smooth Sauv Blanc and had burgers from the place two doors down deliver to our outdoor table. The experience was very relaxing, had great conversation with the people also drinking and relaxing, and bought a few cute things from the many wine and beer gifts in the shop. Would definitely return!

Since we moved to San Diego 6 months ago, I haven’t done much venturing over to Coronado but I’m glad that we finally did. Wine A Bit is located in a really cute area of town with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. I purchased a Groupon for a wine and cheese tasting for me and my girlfriend, which included 6 wines and a plates of cheese, salami, and crackers for each of us. It seemed to be a very popular option since there were a lot of other groups there when we went. The tasting is held in a back room where there are some tables/bars to lean on while you drink and eat. When you’re done with your sample, you head over to the bar and grab the next one. While neither of us loved any of the samples, it was still a fun experience. They also offer you a discount if you purchase one of the featured wines that day. They have other areas where you can purchase wine by the glass, buy it by the bottle, and a chocolate case which looked very good. Overall, a fun activity for a Saturday afternoon.

If you’re walking around Coronado and want to stumble into this cute place it is the perfect establishment for a wine lover. Crammed full of wine and wine mementos there are plenty of gifts for friends and family or even for yourself. If you would like to try some wine feel free to sit at one of the tables in the front. Grab a glass of the house wine and an appetizer; it’s well worth it. I had the merlot and paired it with the Brie and apple stack. Wedges of Brie Cheese and apples drizzled with agave nectar and topped with toasted pecans and grape garnish. It was more than fulfilling and paired great with my wine. Got to run my food is getting cold! XOXO

Great little place to visit while in Coronado! It’s not huge, but there is standing room if you don’t get a seat. We did the wine tasting with a cheese pairing. They did a great job of telling us about each wine and which cheese it would go best with. The store portion has a great selection of wine, we bought two bottles while we were there. It was a quick but pleasant stop!

Did happy hour here yesterday. Cozy setup with tasting area in the back and wine bar in front. Great wine selection — tried house Malbec, zin and meritage. All very nice. Had artisan cheese plate with olives but most ordered the flatbread pizza… Heard lots of «yums» so will get that next time Wine a bit had live music — jazz via 2 saxophone players. Perfect ambience for the evening. The owner greeted us and made sure we were having fun. Nice lady. She was attentive to all guests, so you’re assured a high touch customer experience. Our bartender was very friendly and funny.

Offering all kinds of wine essentials, Wine A Bit was a pleasant stop during our Coronado afternoon Funny wine-themed & wine-punned tshirts, aprons, towels, signs, flags, glasses & everything you could imagine sit along w/an actual wine bar where bottles or glasses are yours for the taking Decided a nice glass of white would be perfect on the hot afternoon, we lucked into a table on the patio just in time to hear the couple beside us ordering beer…’cause, yeah. They’ve got that too BFF chose an oakey Chardonnay while I tried a Viognier that didn’t suit my fancy but was quickly replaced by a fruitier Chard which was okay… maybe a Reisling would have been better for me but I appreciated their desire to please & given I didn’t want to be a problem child, I took the Chard Owners were there, on hand & coming around to talk to all the customers & share their appreciation for wine & all things vino & for that, have to say we left huge fans!
