Zilaro Cellars Winery and Tasting Room

Owner is very knowledgeable and the wine is really great! I only tasted one that wasn’t my favorite, but that’s because of my own pallet. It’s a little place, away from the craziness of Orange. Prices are great for the quality. I live nearby and will be going back frequently!

A true gem of Coronado. Tucked away on a quiet street near the Hotel Del Coronado, the tasting room is peaceful and easily accessible. When you walk in you’ll be greeted with a smile and the extremely helpful and kind staff will happily tell you all about the story behind this small business. Return more than once, and you won’t be a customer; you’ll be family.
As for the wine, it’s top notch. I have brought in family members that lived in Italy for for 20 years. According to them The Barbera (one of my favorites) was right off the vines on Tuscany. Patrick is a master craftsman and his efforts come through in every glass. Take the time to stop by. Become part of the Zilaro family.

I had seen this spot earlier and was told that it was no longer there. Not true. Instead of doing the flights or tastings, I tried a glass of Chardonay.
After all, there is a heat wave going on here.
Then left with a 2012 red Barbera (where my heart lives) for my hotel room. It’s fabulous. The owner says Friday nights has live music. I’m returning tomorrow.

Very cute, low key, and relaxing little place. My husband and I did the wine tasting flight and loved it. I will definitely come back here

We originally found this with some coupon but by the end of the night we were members and have been happy return customers ever since. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the wine selection and is always welcoming. Natalia and Dusty are phenomenal people that make everyone feel at home. And Patrick, the owner, is available to share his journey and experiences. The wine is exceptional — the Barbara, Malbec and Merlot my favorites. We have shared many a bottle amongst friends who offer their praise. And the joy of having this in our backyard makes it the perfect opening to many a great night for my wife and I. Highly recommend. Oh, and now they have live entertainment on the weekends to make it even more perfect.

This place is like a hidden gem in Coronado. I had been to Coronado before, but never knew this place existed until I went for the release party of their new Barbara wine. The wine truly was delicious! I typically prefer whites over reds but I definitely went for a second tasting. The release party also happened to be the owners birthday as well. There was also yummy food and lovely entertainment.
The décor is very cozy and the staff is wonderful. Every person was so kind and helpful in explaining the wines and making recommendations on the order to drink them. Will I be back again? Definitely!!!

I would have given them 4 stars if they honored their TravelZoo coupon the right way. Coupon was for 2 tasting AND a food pairing plus a bottle of wine (a great deal for only $ 29 I might add) but on the day we went in for a friends bday we were told there was «no food» to pair with the wine. Huh? Maybe in 2 weeks they would have food and we could come back. I asked well what are u offering in place of the food? (Now I’m thinking an extra taste a glass of wine… but nope nothing!!) so I pay for a coupon that the winery can’t even honor fully. Big disappointment for our group. Ohhh did I mention it’s HOT in there. We were sweating before we even got our first pour!
On the upside, cute little winery good wine nice pours and very knowledgable staff. Would we go back, sure we would but next time have the cheese or crackers that I say u are going to have… makes me wonder if they got hit with a food violation of sone sort? But really how can u be out of crackers etc for 2 more weeks? Odd…

The wine was ok but the customer service was awful. We stopped in for a pre dinner drink as tourists and were treated as if we were imposing in the staff. The owner was rude and rushed us because there was a «private party» coming in after us. In addition, we wanted to tip but he only option was a $ 10+ tip on a $ 25 tasting. I do not recommend this place.

I appreciate the urban winery movement, I really do. A few places in San Diego are getting it right. The expense/​quality ratio at Zilaro is just too high for us to return.

We celebrated our 5^th wedding anniversary here and everything from the booking process to the planning process to execution couldn’t have gone more perfectly! Dusty (the best event coordinator), Patrick (the owner), and their Charlie’s angels couldn’t have been more accommodating for our party of 40. Dusty made it his priority to make sure every detail went according to plan. I am so appreciative of the attention to every detail that was made for our event. The outdoor patio is a gorgeous location for any event. The wine is just as wonderful as the service behind it. I truly have nothing negative to say about our experience with the crew at Zilaro Cellars! Thank you for making our night a magical one!

Lets just say Zilaro Cellars in Coranado is a wonderful day trip to the Island. It’s real close to the Hotel Del as well, so it’s always nice to stop by there after and have a cocktail on the deck. The wine tasting is not only great because of the fine wines, but very informative as well.
I recommend Zilaro Cellars wine tasting, especially if you have friends or family in town. They will love it!

Celebrated my mom’s 61^st birthday here. This place went above and beyond! They stayed open later to allow us to celebrate after work with enough time to enjoy ourselves and not feel rushed. Jessica was so attentive! She provided us with great customer service. And their wines were so delicious! We will definitely be back here. Love this little winery!

A wine tasting room in Coronado? Score! This tasting room, just steps away from the Hotel Del Coronado and Orange Ave has great wines and awesome customer service. I visit this tasting room on a regular basis and have been really impressed. It has a great atmosphere and is a super place to hang out and drink a great glass of vino. They even have some delicious appetizer & dessert items to enjoy with your wine! They have some really fun special events on a regular basis like wine release parties & food and wine pairings. If you are in Coronado, you definitely need to check this place out!

I wouldn’t say I’m a wine connoisseur, but I do enjoy a good wine, and Zilaro Cellars is definitely a place I’d say falls into that realm! Very happy with my recent visit to the Tasting Room in Coronado. The gentleman that helped me and my friends — Dusty, I believe — was great! Wonderful personality and great character. Definitely made the experience a memorable one!

Wow, what a great place, Ive been here a couple times now. wonderful wines and nice tasting room to spend some time in. The staff was great and helpful to describe and talk to. Im not a big wine person and I was able to appreciate wine much more after my visit. Very reasonable prices too for good quality wine. Definitely not pretentious either which I cant stand from alot of wineries. Ill have to consider their wine club too but for now, Ill be happy to return and hope to be able to do so soon. My only complaints would be that its location is a little tucked away by the Del, and could use a few more signs for directions to get there. either way, seems like a great addition to coronado for both tourists and locals to visit.

What a lovely place with great people, Dusty and Lan Lan were so informative about their passion for Zilaro wines! It’s a new place on Adella, easy to find, and their flights of wines are a great introduction to some really good and even better affordable wines! Definitely heading back with friends to introduce them to this new great spot!
