I had the Thursday Special, beef lasagna and a Caesar salad. The salad was delightful and the lasagna was tasty. I couldn’t decide between the ahi tuna tacos or the lasagna. The waitress suggested the lasagna. My friend and I shared a piece of Italian Cream Cake. The cake was by far the best part of the meal. I have eaten at Citrus twice, the staff is attentive and the view is wonderful. The food is average but tasty.

I am in town for a business trip & as I was taking a lovely stroll I happened to glance upon a nice clean restaurant. I decided to eat lunch & the décor as well as the environment looked & felt fresh. I ordered a turkey sandwich with a side of soup. I had the Abuelas’ soup which consisted of chicken & rice. The food was great & tasty !!!

I come down to Corpus twice a month on business. I will never eat lunch at another restaurant. The ambiance is great. Phenomenal view. Great service. Regarding the food, I have never had a better club sandwich in my life. The sourdough was perfectly toasted. The bacon was crisp and fresh and not reheated. The lettuce was beautifully cleaned, bright green and crisp. The tomatoes were fresh. I’ve never had pickles on a club sandwich. They complimented the sandwich perfectly. The Chipotle mayo tied it all together in an amazing blend of texture and cool with a hint of spice. I am in absolute Awe.

Pass this by yesterday on the way to the beach. Decided to stop in today. Great brunch! Everything was delicious. I had the egg and sausage croissant and shared a chocolate waffle. Both very good.

We just had lunch and it was great. There were 7 of us. Some had sandwiches, some had quiche. That was good but the deserts were the hit. Apple cranberry pie YUM.

Very nice friendly open floor plan right in the middle of the Art Gallery. Not uptight or stuffy at all, very friendly staff and patrons. This a great little lunch treasure you should give a shot. Menu is simple with a good number of great surprises. Eat there twice and everything was always fresh and tasty. Driving directions: it’s in the Art Galley big yellow building so park there.

I ordered the Cubano sandwich and tomato basil soup. The soup was delicious. It came with a small biscuit instead of packaged crackers. It funny but that buscuit was so good… it was fresh and fluffy. Like biting into soft air… I really appreciate it. The cubano sandwich was greasy from the way the pork was cooked. It was dripping with oil. I did not complained but I did not take my leftover sandwich to go either. Why they deserve 5 stars? The waitress noticed that I was not really liking the sandwich. She took it upon herself to bring it to the manager’s attention. The manager apologized and said she informed the kitchen to be more careful when making the sandwich. The cubano sandwich is one of the most popular dish on the menu. She was disappointed as well but she assured me it rarely happens. I offered to pay for my food, but she refused to take my money. she believed that I didnt have a good dining experience so she did not want to charge me. There is no excuse for a greasy sandwich from the kitchen. But both staff and management took care of the situation even without asking as they pay close attention to their customers and find out problems on their own and apologized for it. It shows that every one is proud of their food and restaurant. They stick by their food and service to make sure customers are happy when they leave. I will give it another try next time I am in town.

I wish I could give this place 0 star. Sorry to be so harsh, but it was horrible. The service took way too long for a salad and sandwich. The waiter didn’t know anything about the menu. I ordered the citrus salad with grilled chicken. The lettuce tasted horrible, there were only about 4 tiny mandarin oranges, the chicken had chunks of gristle that was inedible. They mixed green apple and red apple, which it would have been better to stick with just green apple for a citrus style salad. Also, the champagne vinaigrette was tasty, but didn’t match any of the flavors of the salad. They hardly put any dressing, so I had to wave down a girl who was not even my waiter and ask for extra. My sister ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and that was the strangest chicken salad I have ever tasted. It was almost like they threw random foods from the refrigerator and called it «chicken salad.» Not only was it strange, but there was no salt or pepper in it. My mom got corn chowder, and it was broth like. Have you ever had brothy corn chowder? No. Not only was the food and service horrible, but the ticket was outrageously expensive. I was disgusted at the price of this horrible food. The one good thing about this place, the pineapple wedding cake was decent, but it probably tasted good, because the rest of the meal was horrible.

Had lunch here. Our only regret was that we ate here on our last day in Corpus, otherwise we would have eaten here several times. My boyfriend had a cup of the corn and poblano soup. Lucky for me he let me have a bite, and it was good! Then to top it off, the little biscuit served with the soup was awesome! I could have eaten a dozen of them! Light and buttery with that crispy exterior and soft interior! I had the quiche florentine and my boyfriend had the cubano sandwich. The crust on the quiche combined with the filling was a wonderful delight! So many times the crust is an afterthought but not in this case. The crust was flaky and flavorful! Not sure which I enjoyed more, the crust or the filling! The side fruit salad was nice, and the vinaigrette was not overly sweet. I did not try the cubano, but my boyfriend really liked the sandwich. He even complimented the champagne vinaigrette served with his side salad. We did save room for dessert, I had the Italian cream cake and my boyfriend ordered the pistachio cake. They were definitely worth the calories! Next time I am in Corpus will definitely eat here since there are other items on their menu that I would love to try!

Was so impressed with this place! We were going to order off the regular menu for our 5 yo, but the waitress offered us special kids options that weren’t on the menu. The PB&J made our son very happy! Our meals were excellent(roast beef panini and chicken salad sandwich). So glad to have found Citrus, as we had had terrible luck at every other restaurant we tried while in Corpus.

Ordered the tortilla soup, it’s Corpus, the tortilla soup should be a no fail. I was wrong. It was overly salty, the cilantro was overpowering. Cilantro is a spice not a soup garnishment. The soup had heat, I love heat, however, nothing about the soup resembled tortilla soup in taste.

I have to write a review about this place. My friend and I entered the bistro at about 1:55pm and little did we know that it actually closes at 2:00pm. We didn’t even realize it until we saw the hours on the menu because the owner(I’m guessing) and the waiters were so nice to us. We basically made them stay there an extra hour and they seemed totally fine about it. So, onto the food. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and I was most definitely apprehensive about doing so. I like my phillies to be rich and greasy and unhealthy, and this bistro did not look like a place to sell that(plus it came with a side salad which it just unheard of in my Philly Cheese Steak World). However, I was pleasantly surprised about how good it was when it came out. It had nice pieces of steak, cooked bell peppers, onions, mayo, and cheese. The salad was also wonderful. My friend ordered their Cubano and she seemed to love it. The Philly Cheese Steak was very good(especially since I ordered it not expecting much) but it wasn’t 5 stars, IMO. I would definitely come back. I just wish the hours were so limited(11am-2pm Mon-Fri).

My wonderful boyfriend and I were in Corpus Christi for a few days of fun, and were touring the harbor area, looking for a place for lunch. A helpful Unilocal filtered search brought up Citrus. I’d remember seeing the sign down the road and how inviting it looked, so mind made up and we headed inside. Citrus is a «tea room» but it definitely doesn’t look like any tea room I’ve ever been in. Not a single doily or lavender oil room freshener to be found. Instead, a cool, clean interior with interesting art on the wall and a gorgeous view of the pier awaited us. I ordered a cup of Abuela’s Chicken soup and the Citrus Spring Salad and my boyfriend ordered the Cubano sandwich. The soup was delicious, and I knew immediately the stock was made from scratch — not just from the taste(which was awesome), but from the way it felt on my tongue. I finished that up quickly, and was then greeted by a beautiful and refreshing salad with crisp romaine and slices of apple that went perfectly with the Champagne Vinaigrette. I was able to wrestle a bite of my boyfriend’s Cubano Sandwich and was disappointed I didn’t have a second stomach so I could eat that, too! The pork was so moist and tender, with that rich flavor you only find from meat that’s been braising all day. SOGOOD. Luckily, we had a tiny bit of room left, and ordered a slice of the Italian Cream Cake and two cups of coffee. The cake was good, but the coffee was better! A hint of cinnamon put it over the top. We were back in the area two days later and immediately decided to return again for lunch. I ordered the Shrimp Sandwich, and the bf ordered the Mediterranean Salad with chicken. The shrimp salad was amazing, and wasn’t overwhelmed by the herb/caper mayonnaise. The bread it was served on was light and crisp and absorbed the mayo perfectly. The bf had no complaints about the salad, and the presentation made it look as great as it tasted. The salad was dressed with a balsamic vinegar, and I could tell the vinegar was high quality. Very good! This time for dessert, we ordered the Pistachio cake, which was even better than the Italian Cream Cake. The icing was light and fresh with bits of pistachio, and the cake was surprisingly moist. The service was excellent, too. The hostess recognized us from our visit two days earlier and greeted us like old friends. The waitstaff is super attentive and gladly gave recommendations. Our first visit, our wonderful waiter even brought us samples of the tomato basil soup, which was delicious! I am definitely looking forward to returning to Corpus and Citrus in the future!

This was my first visit to this little treature by the bay. I had the Mediterranean Salad with Grilled Salmon which was very tasty. The views of the marina are an added plus. I will definately visit this bistro again.

This little café was a complete surprise. I had driven with a colleague down to Corpus to meet with a client and we wanted to grab a bite on the way to the afternoon meeting. All the usual places were packed as it was already spring break. Then we saw a sign hanging on the backside of the art museum advertising the café. We popped in and it was wonderful! Their menu includes cold and hot sandwiches as well as a soup of the day. It sounded yummy when the server described it, but she sold us on their quiche of the day. The quiche was a very generous slice with a little side salad and a few pieces of fruit. We made a mistake in sitting near the dessert tower and spent the better part of our lunch watching the servers go back and forth, removing a luscious cake and then returning it again. So it motivated us to order buttermilk pie. It was a custard style pie with a piped flavored piped on top. The custard was beautifully chilled and had a hint of nutmeg. Perfect! Oh and the view from the art museum out to the marina along the shoreline was gorgeous! I will go here again.
