The food is good, service is adequate and the view is nice. But don’t ever go if you have a medium-big party. They don’t split checks. Then while you’re trying to split the check yourself they make you feel guilty about the cashier having to plug in all these separate totals. In addition the waiter stood behind us awkwardly the whole time we tried to split our check between 24 people. I don’t know if he thought we were going to walk off or if he just had nothing better to do but it didn’t help the cause. While the food is good the portions you get are not worth the high price. They staff didn’t seem to care when we tried to problem solve for hoe to efficiently split the check. I would never go there again as the good things are not worth the bad.

It’s hard to put into words how much I love this restaurant. It has such great atmosphere. Great service. The food is delicious. I had the evening special, flounder with a mushroom cream sauce. I ate everything on my plate. Definitely the best restaurant in Corpus Christi!

My husband and I where looking for a great seafood restaurant and found this one from Unilocal! It was Amazing and our server was very helpful with making our decision easy, as he walked us through the menu! From the Martini’s, Soups and salad to the entrees(all so good)! My husband had the Flounder that had been caught that morning from Port Aransas and I had the Tuna and Both were Amazing!

What a little gem of a find in Corpus Christi this was. The food was fantastic and the service was spot on. I only wish we had found this little spot sooner so we could have gone a few more times during our stay in the area.

We’ve been eating at the Yardarm for over 20 years and it never disappoints! We started with the clam chowder soup and warm bread, both delicious. The fresh green salad with a creamy avocado dressing was the perfect size. The fresh whole flounder is superb. Light and tender, cooked to perfection. For dessert we split a chocolate mousse. Silky smooth and not a morsel left! The food is always consistently good. The service is impeccable. We would definitely highly recommend the Yardarm.

I love the Yard Arm. One of my favorite local spots for dinner. Consistent great food and service. The tables are small and very close together. Great if you are a party of two. Party of 4 will be very cozy.

It was the first day of October, we set outside we the deck the view was stunning. We started with Crab cake and snails. The sauce on the crab cake was fresh and creamy, the cake was stuffed with crab, very little filler to hold it together. The snails had just the right garlic, butter ratio. Leo had the special flounder it was scored perfectly, so that some of the sauce glazer into fish. I had the Shrimp DeJonghe, the server named Pete, explained that the dish would be good, but very nice and bold in flavor. It was perfect. Pete was great at his job. I will go back again.

What a disappointment! The only good thing about this place is the atmosphere — it’s a small quiet romantic place. That’s it though. Our server’s accent made it very hard for us to understand what he was saying. It was truly ridiculous. I feel like had service been decent it could have been a better experience. Food: My husband ordered crab stuffed flounder. I ordered shrimp DeJhonge. Now it doesn’t say what sides it comes with — it says comes with ‘soup, salad, starch, vegetable du jour’ Reading other reviews, I get an impression their soups have always been and will always be gazpacho and clam chowder — why didn’t they just say it on the menu? I don’t eat either one, so I passed. Salad: not individual. Not a whole lot of salad, especially for larger groups. Kinda ridiculous. Two dressings — balsamic vinaigrette and some fancy mayo. If you don’t eat those — oh well, tough sh|t! Bread: store bought. But thank you. If not for bread — I would have left starving. Sides: comes with ‘starch and vegetable du jour’. I asked what it translates into for my order, server said ‘I think it’s rice’ Ok, I assumed it’s pilaf. It came with some nasty @ss rice with raisins in it(wtf??) and carrots seasoned the same way(it’s like some Indian seasoning). So yeah… no, thanks. My husband got luckier — his came with mashed potatoes and green beans which were edible. Yaaaay! Point is — ASK, otherwise it may be not s pleasant surprise. Main dish: my husband said his was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I got 8 lousy mid-size shrimps(you can buy those at HEB for 12 $ a pound) — they were ok, I was just kinda hoping for something more impressive considering the price tag. Dessert: I got tiramisu, my husband got chocolate mousse. He liked his. Mine was nasty, like seriously nasty. I had much better tiramisu at chain restaurants.MUCH. We paid 100 $ So…fine dining Corpus Christi style is what this restaurant is.

If you are a lawyer/doctor/business executive, you are very welcome at this Pompous, elitist establishment. All«others» not so much. Not a comfortable or friendly atmosphere for youthful liberals like me.

I really enjoy dining at the Yardarm Restaurant. My husband and I used to frequent this restaurant often when we were dating. The crab cakes are some of the best I’ve ever had! The sauce is tasty and made in house. There gazpacho is also very good. I had the mahi mahi and it was amazing! The menu is pricey, but it’s worth it! The atmosphere is quiet and romantic, along with the view overlooking the water. We have had great, attentive servers every time we’ve been, which is a huge plus considering other restaurants in Corpus. I can’t wait to eat here again and try some of their new specials.

This is my second review of Yardarm. I initially went to this place in order to try it out in hopes that it could be the location of a large dinner celebration. Initially I had doubts due to the few critical reviews of the place. Now I know that each restaurant has its moments and everyone is entitled to their own opinion however this place has been nothing short of excellent the two times I have been. This last week I took eight family friends there for a great seafood dinner. I made reservation a week in advance and the owner was extremely friendly and polite. I mentioned that I wanted to sit outside as they have a great view of the bay and downtown. On our way to dinner a ugh understory rolled in they prevented us from sitting outside. Though the place was crowded on a Friday night they had a table for 7 inside ready to go. So the service is great regardless of what past review lead to you believe. The food is even more delicious. Everything is extremely fresh ad you can tell that the chef puts in both time and though to each of his dishes. There was not one complaint about the food the entire evening. From the appetizers to the main courses everyone was very impressed. The bar is also outstanding and can make any cocktail you ask to perfection. I am a totally foods and enjoy«local» places and this is by far the best place for seafood in Corpus Christi. The view is great and so is the service. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and dining atmosphere. If you can sit outside and enjoy the patio. You will regret not going to Yardarm if you are visiting Corpus Christi.

Great view, great service. Our waitress was brand new, just her second day. I believe her name was Brandy. She was super helpful and very nice. I would go back just for her service by itself. The view was great. Nice deck overlooking the ocean. The place closes at 10 but if you’re not there by 8:30 good luck getting a table.

This is my new favorite seafood place in town. It’s a great little date night place or to take family from out of town. I had the market fish capers. This time the market fish was black drum. The sauce was a delicious garlic, butter, and caper sauce. I would definitely come back here. The specials all sounded amazing as well. My boyfriend had the flounder with champagne cream sauce and it was amazing. All around everyone LOVED their food. And best pet is every entrée comes with soup AND salad.

This place oozes character, both in the building and setting, and in the people and choice of music. The food was excellent. Locals told me this was the best seafood in town. I believe them.

I read the reviews and followed suit. I ordered the oyster pesto appetizer. The sauce was delicious. Not sure if that was really oysters deep in the fry batter but the sauce was tasty. I had crab cakes for my entrée, they were fine. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return. I loved the atmosphere. I’ll always choose quaint over chain. It wasn’t as small as everyone said. I thought it was a perfect size. The waitress was fine. Obviously the more you order the nicer and more attentive they become. On my personal scale from 1 – 10 it rates a 5. It won’t kill you to eat there nor will it inspire you to return. Prices were in line with the menu but not the food. Meaning the menu descriptions were a 10 and the quality was a 5.

We were a party of 3, dining at 8PM on Saturday. We started with ceviche and crab cakes, both of which had delicious flavor; the sauce made a big contribution in the crab cake dish. Then came a lovely little spinach salad with black olives, red onion, cucumbers, and two homemade dressings: a sweet balsamic dressing and a creamy avocado dressing, which I had read in the reviews you’re supposed to blend. We did. We loved the resulting flavor. Gazpacho, which was the only soup choice by the time we got to our soup course, turned out to be fair, but not my favorite. We chose Shrimp de Jonghe, Lobster Thermidor, and Black Drum Papillote, all served with rice and a cabbage side dish. Dessert was crème brûlée, key lime pie, and chocolate mousse, all competent and creamy: an ideal sweet ending to the seafood perfection we had just feasted on. I thought the prices were appropriate. The flavors and portion sizes were satisfying. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back. Debbie was our delightfully perfect server. We loved her! She paid great attention to us, but didn’t make herself intrusive or annoying. She kept an eagle eye on our drink levels and bread basket. She didn’t interrupt us needlessly, and yet she didn’t neglect us. We found her to be the perfect blend of attention, sense of humor, knowledge of menu, and friendliness. I’d like to come back the next time I’m in the area.

Best cocktails in Corpus! San Antonio has a huge craft cocktail scene. .it’s impossible to get a decent drink in Corpus, however. That’s until the Yardarm. Loved the chocolate martini. The calamari was slightly overcooked. Crab cakes were delicious. .the sauce made all the difference. The Market catch in capers was cooked and served to perfection. The tuna served rare was sublime. The raspberry cheesecake was delightful. We’ll definitely do again. Did I mention the amazing view? Amazing!

First time ever in Corpus and thanks to Unilocal,we found ourselves here celebrating our anniversary. From the outside it looks like a house turned restaurant filled with so much family love. We walked in and we’re immediately greated and decided to take advantage of their back patio seating.(Side note, they offer call ahead seating and if Corpus wasn’t celebrating some parade I bet we would not have been able to have been sat immediately) Their patio view is straight out of a book and is so romantic and private that we felt like we were at our house or visiting our grandparents house and having dinner out back. And if grandma knows anything, it’s how to cook and whoever is running the kitchen, knows how to handle some fresh seafood. We ordered crab cakes and fried oysters to start, followed with the flounder special and lobster thermidor, and finished with the cheesecake dosed in raspberry port wine sauce. Please let your heart guide you through the menu and order whatever it desires. I wholeheartedly believe cannot go wrong. The impression we gathered was any other weekend the family is there, full hands in really implementing that southern hospitality. This weekend their daughter was getting married and if they are reading this, your staff that stayed to keep the boat afloat were outstanding, respectable, and really made your establishment and our one year anniversary a time and place to remember. Last thing I want to add is the woman’s restroom is the best one I’ve ever seen. I’m tempted to post a picture… but I’d rather have the ladies who review this post go see for themselves.
