Bittersweet Boutique

Just like some of the other reviews I have had trouble catching the store open or doors locked. We went in once and a staff person came in after us. It was an hour before closing time when we left but we had to unlock door to get out. I’ve never seen any other customers in at the same time.
Went on a Saturday morning when they first opened (11am). They obviously don’t make fresh daily. There were only singles of some cup cakes and less than 6 of other varieties. Cake was dry.
On a positive note, the Frosting was REALLY good and really thick.
The shop is really cute. They have added décor so it doesn’t feel as empty. I think this could be a great business if they had better marketing and the above issues were resolved. Will give them another chance.

I have come to Corsicana several times hoping to try this place since my local friend has said how cute & yummy it is. It is never open on weekends which seems odd since that’s when you can do a lot of business, have parties, showers, etc. I happened to be visiting on a Friday since it’s 12/​26, so thought I’d finally get to try it. Unilocal and Facebook says it’s open, the voicemail hours say it’s open, sent an email to confirm (with no response) and drove by to check. I saw lights on and opened the door to make sure it was open (which it was-​and also no hours posted on store front). I went back to get my friend and when we walked back to the door it was locked. We knocked and no one answered, we called and still got only the voicemail. Not sure how a business in this small town will survive with these hours and this service? It has so much potential to make a great profits with some better marketing, better hours for weekend travelers, leisurely locals, or fun small parties/​event space/​catering, but with these inconveniences I’m not sure I’ll go out of my way to try it again.

Beautiful décor. Very friendly service. Tea was really good. Unfortunately I’m not the biggest fan of cupcakes and these didn’t change my mind. From the description I thought this was more a dessert place than more of an exclusively cupcake. I imagine that for people who love cupcakes this is probably the best you can get.

Great place. Amazing cupcakes that will melt in your mouth. The setting has a very relaxed feel with comfortable chairs and dim lighting. Nice service. But get there a few hours before closing time or there won’t be many flavors to choose from.

The coffee was great. I had a chocolate/​fudge cheesecake cupcake which had a nice graham cracker crust, very good. I also had a turkey/​muenster cheese sandwich on cranberry bread that was so-​so. It may have actually tasted better but I had a bad taste in my mouth because of the service. I am not from Corsicana but was just in town visiting family. I read about Bittersweet in the Explore magazine which features local businesses. I read their coffee is from a local grower and asked about that along with asking about the sandwiches. Well, Angel was not happy with me asking about what is on the sandwiches, the bread, and wanting to look at one since they are prepackaged. I am not from Corsicana, never been in the business, I was curious, thatis all. Nobody else was in the café so I wwasn’t holding up the line. She rolled her eyes and had obvious frustration in her voice as I POLITELY asked about her products made in-​store.
I also asked if there was a restroom and the other girl working the register politely directed me to it. Well Angel followed behind, huffing, and slammed the door leading from the office to their kitchen as I entered the bathroom.
I don’t know if I turned Angel off because of something about me personally, if she was having a bad day and I caught her during it, or she is putting up a front for everybody else and I am the only one who saw through it, but, that isn’t cool to make a customer feel as if they are bothering you or are not wanted.

I came here with very high hopes based off their fabulous reviews– let me add I’m very picky– and it was exactly what I was hoping for! Every aspect spells excellent! They have very creative foods and drinks– my mango green tea tasted awesome and it was made with REAL mangos! I got the chocolate malt cupcake and it was soooo moist, flavorful and had little chocolate chips in it making it a heavenly treat for chocolate lovers, with a generous heap of cream cheese frosting topped with chocolate syrup! Also the staff was very down to earth, just straight up cool people. Plus their ingredients are high quality, no preservatives or unnatural stuff and come from local businesses and farms ! That sealed the deal-I’m forever a faithful customer !

What a unique concept! Bittersweet is always coming up with new ideas and recipes to give Sprinkles a run for their money. I can’t wait to stop in again for the next delicious creation!

I am beyond happy that Corsicana has Angel and her Bittersweet Boutique. We NEED her and her vision. So I am so glad that more and more people are discovering how yummy the food and drinks are here!
The place is beautiful. I think she may be a secret interior designer because this place is so hip but classic. It would be a photographer’s dream!
Her cupcakes are YUMMMMMMY! So many choices and the menu changes daily. And you will ALWAYS find something you love on the menu.
Her coffee is great and her italian cream sodas really quench your thirst on a hot day!
Her salads are amazing and I am very excited to try her sandwiches and new pulled pork!
Finally, she is great and will talk to you, listen to ideas, and implement them if necessary. She is a customer’s dream because she caters to you and strives to be the best. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, maybe an old-​fashioned soda or candy bar? Yeah, she has those, too ;)

We love this place and we drive from Dallas to have her cupcakes that are so so delicious and I love Angel’s cupcakes.
