I think I have written 1 or 2 Unilocal reviews in my life — I read them but I am rarely compelled to write one. That said, I had to contribute after my recent experience in Chico’s at Corte Madera. I have never been in a Chico’s and I went in for a gift for my mom. The merchandise was cute — perfect for a lady in her 60s. But the service was so bad — its likely that I will never go back there. First of all, it was not a busy time in the store — early evening, about 4 – 5 customers, max. Three salespeople should have been more than enough to sufficiently manage the activity in the store. But it was not. Probably because two of them spent the entire time on one of the registers ringing and re-ringing up(after many mistakes) a stack of items for themselves, using their employee discount. And chatting about how cute each item was… while the customers in the store were not being helped. And while the remaining salesperson was left to manage the fitting room and ring up customers. Which would not have been too bad, had the remaining employee known what she was doing. But alas, she did not. It took me at least 10 minutes to check out for for one item(after already waiting 10 minutes while another customer was being sloooowly rung up) and in the mean time, at least one customer left the line after losing patience with the situation. I also never received any assistance with selecting merchandise or trying things on. To the sales ladies of the Corte Madera Chico’s: stop gabbing like hens in a henhouse and do your job with more urgency, efficiency and effectiveness. Stop treating customers like they’re your friends who are sympathetic that you are so bumbling and slow. We are not your friends — we are paying customers who have lives that we’d like to get back to. Thanks.

I am not a large woman but 5’3, full figured at 135 lbs and an active professional career person. Any time I’ve worn clothing from Chico’s I’ve always been complimented by others — even people I’ve never met. Anything I wear from Chicos is smart, clean and classy. Their travel line is 5 star! It looks and hangs fabulously! I’ve always enjoyed good service in Corte Madera, Palm Springs and online.

It is utterly cruel to kill so many young polyesters to make ugly clothes for oversized women. Do not shop here — the fashion police will arrest you upon exiting.

I was at Chico’s Corte Madera store on the Saturday before Easter and the salespeople were quite rude. Not only did they NOT assist me or even greet me, but after I tried on a few outfits and was looking in the mirror, they stood between me and the mirror — Not a very good image for me or Chicos.(pun not intended) A customer is a customer(local or not) and I do have one of your«passports». The store was not overly crowded but to not even assist or greet a potential customer is a great way to lose one; the salespeople continued to put things back on the hangers and talk between themselves behind the counter without asking if I needed service that’s why I walked out.

Are you kidding me? Who wears this clothing… it belongs in a mall that cater to middle-aged women who do not work and instead sustain themselves living on twinkies and spending most of the hours dallying away on a plaid couch and watching As The World Turns all the while waiting for their blue collar husbands to return home from work so that they can start to heat that Hungryman Fried Chicken meal in the microwave. Can’t believe it was in this mall ;o)
