My final visit here, towards the beginning of the year, was a good one. Busy weekend night, the staff was able to keep the nearly full house cycling efficiently. Would have been a good spot for some people watching if I lived nearby. The food was not spectacular but not bad either, and the staff was friendly. Is there really no Denny’s left in Marin now?!?

I like to eat at Denny’s, and this one is the closest to where I live. Unfortunately this restaurant is in a miserable shape. Have been coming here for about 11 years, but yesterday I got the impression that it was going to be closed soon. It was really bad. the parking lot needs to be repaved, seats are torn. Waited too long to be seated, and waited too long for the food too, and it was cold when it was served. The waitress sat with me at the table while taking the order, I noticed she did the same to other customers. So inappropriate!

What happened, this is now a dump? Dirty, torn seats. Had to get up and get my own coffee refill. Does no one watch these stores to make sure they uphold the Denny’s image?

My husband and I were traveling in northern California. We decided to have breakfast in Marin County, thinking that this area would have a nice & clean Denny’s restaurant, but to our surprise, it was dirty, almost every seat was torn & worn down, out dated décor, and in need of a major refurbishment. The bathrooms were very dirty with urine on the toilet seats. Very hard to enjoy a good meal!

I have lived in Marin for 30 years, and have been going to this Denny’s for at least the last 20. I cannot believe how nasty it has become. The food is fine, no issue there. The service is passable but not great, the real problems are: 1) It is disgustingly filthy. The floors appear to never be vacuumed, the table tops are always sticky, as are the booth seats. I don’t believe the bathrooms are serviced more than once a day. I don’t even want to know what the kitchen looks like. When we walked in, there were only two other tables, three waitresses, and half the empty tables still had dirty dishes sitting on them. 2) They allow homeless people to just sit inside, at the waiting area or at tables for hours on end. Not a big deal if it weren’t for the pan-handling INSIDE the restaurant. How does the management let this happen?! Our meal wasn’t bad at all, but I can’t get over how dirty it was and the state of disrepair the restaurant is in(torn booths, ragged carpet, broken bathroom stall doors, burned out lights, etc.). It was so unappetizing, I will not be going to this Denny’s again.

Avoid. 1) it’s filthy(sit at the counter and take a gander where they prep your food for proof) 2) waitstaff wander around talking to each other as if there aren’t customers within earshot. Completely unprofessional demeanors. Bacon and eggs you can get anywhere and from now on I’ll be going elsewhere.

Haven’t been to Denny’s in a while and I just tried the grilled chicken wraps with chipotle sauce and it was awesome. Too bad I could only eat one.

As good as a Denny’s can get! Excellent customer service from our server Anisha and the manager on duty. Thanks!

Hmmm… waited a long time to be seated, tried to seat ourselves but every empty table was dirty, was greeted by an employee in passing, all other employees didn’t even look at us & the 3 other people waiting behind us and an elderly lady was waiting at the counter to pay her bill. All of which led us to turn around and leave. Amazing!!! Now we’re at Fred’s coffee shop in Sausalito. Things are looking up already

I know its easy to slam the big chains but you know what, this place does it right! Breakfast had nicely cooked eggs, crispy hash brown, fluffy blueberry pancakes, and decent coffee. There are low cal choices with fruit and yogurt. Oatmeal is good too. Service was impeccable. They were super busy mid morning but still got everything we asked for to us in a timely manner. Refills kept coming without ever having to ask.

We’ve been here about 15 times over the past 2 years. We also get excellent service and food. Never a bad experience. Yes, it is just a Denny’s but this one seems to take a lot of pride in the quality of the food and the staff is friendly and attentive.

How many of you have a Denny’s memory in your past? I have been to Denny’s in Marin that are nothing more than a sweet whisper today. The one in Corte Madera is still alibve and well, waiting for you. Gone is the the girl of yesterday hanging out for a late nite/early morning brrakfast after cruising 4th Street in San Rafael. Yet, I still had almost one of everything on their.“Build Your Own Breakfast.” this nite for dinner. Grits, eggs over easy, bacon, hashbrowns. You just can’t go wrong at most places with this combo. For the price and hungry as I was after a long day, I still was satisfied. Was it the best I have ever had, no, but it sure did bring a smile to my face to look back and remember my glory days in this place. It was clean, quick an dthe waitress was nice. the company not half bad either. An evening I will most likely repeat sometime in the future… when I am looking back at the past and remembering…

what can i say?! i been in bunch of other dennys’ but by far this is the worst experienced i ever had. went there for late night dinner because my father in law is starving after twenty-six hours of traveling. entered the restaurant with sat ourselves and grabbed our own menu since we been sitting and waiting for fifteen minutes. no one bothered to take our orders after another fifteen minutes. i understand that its busy but the customer service was terrible. they didn’t even apologized for being so slow or try to explain themselves. they pretty much just throw your order on the table. the server don’t check on you unless they owe you, your order. the only time you wouldn’t have to wait is when you’re standing at the front ready to pay. i would of left for the poor customer service but didn’t want to ruin it for the in-law since it is his first meal. this location doesn’t even deserve a star.

Seriously, it’s a Dennys. If you need a place to kill a few hours while eating mediocre food at a low price… duh!

I love a Denny’s, everything about them. It’s like an era past that can’t be found again Mel’s doesn’t have it, IHOP what a joke and all the Mom and Pop places as god as they are don’t quite have the touch. Yeah I could go to Boogaloos, or the Pork Store but my pants are skinny enough and shave so I feel weird. Back to Denny’s you walk into one and you know what’s up, the atmosphere the booths, same everywhere you go. I personally am a counter person, when I was a kid sitting at the counter was the best thing ever, I felt like I was sitting at a bar, which I do plenty of now so I guess that explains a lot. This Denny’s is the best ever, hands down the best ever. The staff are hella cool, go in the morning and it your favorite Sunday family place, all the staff know your name, Sweet, friendly and sooooo helpful I breaks your heart. Go late night after the cocktail hours and for a group of people who have to work all night on the weekend and deal with my drunkass must be a saint, but these guys are cool, funny, witty and outright awesome. Never annoyed or frustrated just super awesome. For some reason the food at this Denny’s is the best. I feel like I am eating at a four star restaurant not a full service family diner. Always Hot fresh and appealing, they say that food is 90% visual. Would you eat Purple yogurt? Like really weird purple. No and neither would I. Anywayz where was I, ah yes, for a Family Diner I feel super special. They must have a magic good food fairy back through that little window, cause man it’s good, and I can never remember waiting more than 15 mins or my food no matter how busy they are and for that reason I give you 5 stars. Thanks Denny’s for making such an awesome place.

Ah, Denny’s; Serving Marin County’s bored teenagers 24 hours a day. What would they do without you? Get into good amounts of trouble, no doubt, for crashing their parent’s BMW’s, and doing illegal activities in the Safeway parking lot. So, get to Denny’s, kids. Get yourself some delicious pancakes, milkshakes, and other expected mediocre Denny’s fare, and stay out of trouble.

Not really sure what to have for breakfast, we opted for just a chain and decided against the normal IHOP. In the end, we were kind of sorry we did. The breakfast we had was the standard fare on one side(eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon, pancakes), and on the other we got a potato skillet. The normal breakfast was a little bland in places compared to IHOP, but otherwise was okay besides some smoky tasting pancakes. The skillet, on the other hand, was awful. It looked nothing like the picture, and was swimming in grease. It was hard to eat, and probably one of the more«scarring» breakfast entries we have had. All in all, we won’t be back. We will stick to IHOP when we are craving some chain breakfast food.

I think… wait no I am positive the last time I ate at Denny’s was when I was in High School and that was in the 70’s. I am not certain what possessed me stop the other day but I did and I am glad that I did. Denny’s is Denny’s, sorta like saying blue is blue. But you get the drift. It is what it is and it isn’t fine dinning and basic no frills. What I did love about this location was several things. First off I walked in I was greeted by a really nice lady who said, and I quote«Welcome to Denny’s we are glad you are here»… I am a sucker for good customer service. Second off this location is so clean you could eat off the floor if you had to… really spic and span type of clean. Thirdly, when my order was ready. the really nice lady who had greeted me at the door brought over my food with a huge smile saying«Your breakfast is being served, I hope you like it»… Again, sucker sucker sucker that I am I was very impressed. My breakfast was decent. You know the grand slam special that I have seen advertised… 4 items(several to choose from) cooked the way you want for $ 6.99. I’d go back, yup I sure would. Enjoy…
