We stopped here unknowingly 5 minutes prior to closing we said sorry and we were about to leave. They said no don’t leave its not a problem! The hospitality is amazing. The food incredible! They were fast and it didn’t lack in taste either! A must if you are here!

I’m a local and this is by far my family’s favorite authentic Mexican food, if you like menudo this is the place for you, excellent customer service, good food and an awesome outdoor patio.

Food was tasty. But I have eaten at Mexican restaurants all across the USA and never been charged for salsa refills. And very small refills at that. We had a large group requiring several refills. Otherwise would have given 5-​stars.

Amazing service and food! Our waiter was incredibly friendly. Food portions were perfect! We finished everything and even had dessert. Saw on the wall they had an award for the best Mexican Restaurant in Cortez for 2015. Can say it lived up to the hype!

Some of the best Mexican food I have had in awhile. The guacamole, ceviche, burritos and enchiladas are all great. If I had any criticism it would be their margaritas were just okay. There is definitely a reason why this place is rated so high. Very tasty!

They will bring you a bowl of chile verde if you ask. I imagine they would bring you a second one but it would be too much deliciousness for one meal. The pork tamal and carne asada were good too. Service was very friendly and the food came out fast. Had a «classic fresh» margarita and i immediately felt the scurvy being chased from my body.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re anywhere near Cortez.

This place was amazing good food and fast friendly service. Good kids menu. Had the La Casita Enchiladas best I have had. My husband had the Tacos Al Pastor which were amazing. If your in the area I highly recommend this place.

Affordable and delicious. We got the mole and carnitas. The latter was surprisingly good. Paired with excellent service by a genuinely friendly staff, we’re glad we made the stop!

Thought I should update my review in the new location. The service is still great, their salsa for the chips has a little kick to it, but is not overwhelming and addictive. Had a combination plate of 2 Chili Rellenos one pork tamale and the wife had a chicken chimichanga. Total cost of the two meals was 18.10 (lunch prices) including extra guacamole for my combo, hers came with guac and sour cream. Both were tasty and had depth of flavor. Just went to the new Mexican Restaurant in Dolores two days ago and this place had more flavor and was quite a bit less expensive. Worth the drive here even if you are in Dolores for the difference in flavor. Kinda a funky layout since the place is a converted old house. Very clean and you can tell there is pride in place and the food they serve. Best Mexican in the four corners.

Passing through on our road trip. We were seated immediately by the staff. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. The Steak Asada was extremely flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend to stop by if ever in the area!

Stopped by on Sunday for lunch. Excellent service and food was delicious. I had beef tamale and cheese enchilada. Would definitely recommend food here and would eat here again

The food here is delicious and the service very friendly and prompt.
It looks like a tiny place from the outside, and it is but there is outdoor seating too which holds about the same quantity as inside.
It annoys me when drink prices are not in the menu, his dos Equis was $ 3.50 and my house margarita was about $ 8. Too much ice in it and smaller than I was expecting. When we were leaving I saw others with huge margaritas, no idea what they cost!
I had beef fajitas, there’s was so much food and the beef was delicious. He had chicken tacos and said the same, great meat.
Total bill was only $ 35. Love it

Wow! Couldn’t be happier we stopped at La Casita! Fast, friendly and crazy amazing Mexican food. The pollo con chipotle was simply ridiculous! I had the mole enchiladas and they were probably the best mole I’ve ever had. Even the chips and salsa were fantastic. I can’t wait to come back!

Love this little restaurant. The food is crazy good, affordable and served quickly. I most recently had the tortilla soup and it was a huge bowl of yumminess that I could have just poured over my head. Mmmmm!

Good food. Great food. But the service was weird. My husband and I definitely did something to offend them as they treated us very differently from everyone. It was Mother’s Day and they were sweetly handing out roses to all the women but, my waiter seemed to intentionally skip us. They would not look me in the eye, and avoided our table like we made them uncomfortable. It was odd.
I would try the again but, only once to see if it was just a fluke.
**UPDATE**
We went back. They were super friendly, food was great. My husband thinks they must just hate that table. Next time, we request the reject table and see what happens next.

I lived in Cortez for 2 years and we tried to give this place a chance as take-​out twice and dining in once. No matter how we tried to order some type of chicken burrito — we ended up with a disappointing meal (take-​out order was completely wrong and the chicken had no flavor in any of our dishes). People we knew in town raved about their experiences — but it always left us regretting not going to another Mexican restaurant in town.
The one thing that they did do well was their guacamole — so if that’s all we needed to complete a meal we were making at home, we’d pick that up on our way through town.

By far the best Mexican food we had on our entire 5 day trip to the grand circle. We came here for lunch, I ordered the one item combo, for $ 5 it was a steal. I got the chile relleno, which came w/​a side of rice and beans. The chile relleno was amongst the best I’ve ever had. The gooey melted cheese, and sauce made it so perfect! The rice and beans were magnificent. The beans were loaded with flavor!!!
Also the service was good, and the décor was nice. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, and hungry for some great Mexican food!!!
