I write this as I know how hard it is to get a referral to a «good place» from the social workers, nurses, drs. It is considered a conflict of interest for them to refer. I did some research and discovered that Good Sam’s is considered to be the rehab center with consistently good aftercare. They work their patients hard so they can improve their skill levels and move to a higher level of functioning. My elderly mother is now there after a heart attack and they are doing their best to push her within her capacity. The staff is always courteous and responsive. The facility does not feel crowded and it smells not at all! ALWAYS, the patients who do best are those whose family members stay most involved– on top of the meds, the therapies, etc.
