Wanted to eat here 5÷21÷14. Called ahead and the phone was disconnected, called 411 for the # and they didn’t have a listing. Went anyway and it was closed. Bummed– really wanted sweet potato pie!

We visited the Front Porch for dinner and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing… everyone in our party raved about their meal! I had the Front Porch burger(perfectly cooked) with fried green tomatoes(lightly breaded and crispy) and my toddler daughter had the chicken and dumplings(creamy with small dumplings throughout) with fried potatoes(deliciously seasoned) — both were fantastic! Another in our party had the daily soup special — a thick and creamy Tuscan potato and spinach soup — that was served with a salad(topped with a delicious house made Greek dressing) and roll with butter. Another in our party had the ½ lb cheeseburger with fried green tomatoes and she loved it! The restaurant was quaint with rustic country décor and our server Barbara was friendly and attentive. This place was fantastic and we all look forward to visiting again!

I darkened the doorway of the Front Porch restaurant in Cosby recently while visiting my parents in Gatlinburg. My parents had been there when it was a Mexican restaurant but I had not. The outside would never persuade you to come to the Front Porch on its own merit, and the inside won’t wow you either, but once you look at the menu, you will see that this is more than just a country side diner. We started out with an appetizer of the fried green tomatoes and they are as good as the other reviews here mention. The corn salsa is an original and delicious accompaniment to the tomatoes. For my main dish I had the fried cat fish with a cajun remoulade sauce, and sides of bourbon baked beans and chipotle mac and cheese. All were very good and with generous portions, especially the catfish which I could barely finish. I really liked that the side dishes offered a lot of flavor and were«kicked up» more than baked beans and mac and cheese would be normally. Our waitress told us that there are three owners, two of which are culinary trained chefs and their training is displayed in the innovative and delicious dishes that are served at The Front Porch. Most of the restaurants in the Gatlinburg area are chains or gaudy tourist traps(or both). For something a little more peaceful and genuine, The Front Porch is the place to go!

This little place will surprise you in a wonderful way! Located in Cosby on the outskirts of Gatlinburg TN this place has it all: great food, great service, and excellent prices! This was me and my wife’s first time to eat here on our honeymoon and we both said this beats the high prices fancy eating places hands down! They have it all this is a must visit for those coming to the Smokies! Trust us you will not be disappointed. Try the mozzarella cheese sticks they were the best we ever had! My wife had a ½ cheeseburger with chipotle Mac n cheese and fried green tomatoes as sides. I had the 12 oz hamburger steak & gravy w/peppers & onions with fried potatoes and a house salad. We had sweet tea to drink and it was all awesome!
