The first time I was ordering I thought, «Another greasy filipino food on its way to my tummy.» But u know what?! I was wrong! I’m actually impressed by this food truck! The pork adobo rice bowl was pretty good, it’s tastier than the chicken one. It’s a lot of food in a bowl, both me and my man only ate half of each of our bowls. The lumpias are really good, too! I recommend ordering this as a side. Food is not greasy at all, so I’m really happy w/that. All in all I’m pretty happy with this truck being in our ‘hood today. I live in Los Olivos Irvine. It’s definitely not like my mom’s adobo, but I’m sure glad I didn’t have to cook dinner tonight and still have a pretty decent filipino meal, which is rare in Orange County. :)

Pork Adobo Bowl. Not good! It isn’t really garlic fried rice, just steamed white rice. Plus, their adobo fell short of fresh – tasted like old leftovers. It’s disappointing, especially since it offers so much potential having no other local Filipino cuisine to compete with. One star for concept, another star for the authentic Filipina lady serving the food.

So today this food truck was in our work location around the Irvine Spectrum at 11:15am. When I got there, no one was yet in line. I ordered the pork adobo bowl, which include a fried egg and not sure if it was suppose to be garlic fried rice. But I thought it was very good. The price for the bowl was $ 7.50…it was worth it. I would have probably given this a 5 star if it gave more rice and another egg… us Filipinos can’t live without rice. For lunch menu the portion was probably enough… if i had eaten more, i would have probably gone into a food coma and would have needed a nap.

Ay Nako! Not impressed. Waited 30min in line only to find out that they«ran out of Adobo Rice Bowls», but are still selling Adobo Burritos. Not really the Filipino food Lola would whip up. Clearly not my first choice, but having invested so much time already, I didn’t have many options. Curiosity got to me, so I asked how they ran out of rice bowls, but can still sell Burritos, when they both have the same ingredients. The answer was that the burrito doesn’t use as much rice, so apparently they have to ration it. A Filipino food truck low on rice??? Man, that’s just lame! Can’t tell you what the food tastes like yet, because I’m investing another 20mins waiting for it, after I ordered, and have to run back to work. Yep, that’s 50min from start to finish, w/o even getting what I wanted… Okay, I’m back after wolfing down the burrito before my conference call. I initially rated them only one star, but at least the actual Chicken Adobo tasted legit Filipino. However, it was still a bit«different» in burrito form, but was still pretty good. Ironically, if that was all they offered in the first place, and I didn’t have to spend 80% of my lunch break waiting, this was pretty good truck/fusion style food. Hope they plan better next time. Legit Filipino restaurants should NEVER run out of rice. I’m not sayin, I’m just sayin.

Fun food truck experience. It’s a mix of Filipino food but also done in some Mexican styles. For example, you can get an Adobo burrito or Adobo nachos. I opted for the Adobo plate which was more Filipino with rice and egg and chicken. It was delicious and a good deal for $ 7.50. The staff is nice and service was pretty quick, maybe 2 minutes wait. A friend had the Nachos and those were delicious. A very big portion and the nacho chips were light and crispy, tasted homemade. I want to try that dish myself next time. I like the idea of a Filipino food truck because I think it’s pretty rare and I really enjoy chicken and pork adobo meats. It’s neat that you can get rice or Mexican style dishes and it still tastes good and is priced right. I hope they come back to my office area.

If I could put no stars I would. The lady who was cooking whom I’m assuming is the owner, was SOOORUDE. She messed up peoples orders and then got mad because she had to fix them. All they wanted was no egg, because she was so rude the ladies stated you can leave it as is. She didn’t even acknowledge them, then when she took the eggs off she said here get these no egg orders out of here. Once the girls left proceeded to continue to upset about it, mind other customers are standing there.

I’ve been trying to track down this food truck for awhile. Their website offers very limited info about location so it’s kinda tough. Their menu is pretty simple, it’s pork and chicken in either quesadilla, taco or burrito form. I tried the burrito, or the adoburitto if you will. The guy taking my order asked me if I wanted spicy and of course I said yes. The burrito came with rice, garlic, fried egg, cilantro, onions and pork. There was also some unidentified sauce, which I assume is adobo. The mixture of the sauce, pork and egg was pretty delicious. It wasn’t very spicy at all. The price was very reasonable at $ 7.50. And I my order was ready in about a minute. Great food truck.

Their adobo burrito was great. Was expecting it to be a lot worse, pretty cheap too. Get it spicy.

Bad experience all around. The food took a long time to be ready. They ran out of food right after. As far as the food, bland, absolutely no taste. The garlic rice was plain white rice. I’ve had better burritos at taco bell.

Really good food at reasonable prices. I love the Pork Adobo Bowl with the egg on top. Great rice, with really tasty slow cooked pork and an fried eggs on top. The Huy Fong Sriracha brings the entire bowl together. Mmmmm. My only gripe is that the yolk should be runny and the while should not be brown. Eggs are not meant to be brown.

Got the Adobo Pork Bowl w/Fried Egg First, the cons: it took 25 minutes just to get my food, it’s really heavy and greasy, and the pork was on the salty side. Now the pros: Heavy, greasy, and salty isn’t THAT bad when you get a whoppin’ serving of rice, so it was a good balance for me! On that note, moly moly, I read all these reviews about the portions being too small, so I was expecting a small plate. Instead what I got was a serving too large for me to handle… I’m ashamed, I couldn’t finish my entire meal(and I’m a BIG eater, I’m talking about shut-down-an-AYCE-KBBQ big eater.) The pork is cooked very well — not perfectly — but definitely not dried out. It’s not fair to compare it to home-cooked/slow-cooked pork adobo, but it’s still pretty moist and fatty.

The menu is very limited. It was pretty disappointing. I had the filipino breakfast burritos which was adobo pork, fried egg, potatoes, cheese, onions and tomato. The worst burrito I’ve had. The potatoes were barely cooked and tasted raw. The pork was dry and has no flavor and the entire burrito was drench in what takes like sweet mayonnaise and Siracha. I also got a spam slider which was way better than the burritos but was advertised more as a side. Obviously they think the burrito is the showcase but the slider is better. Nothing too special that you can’t make it in your house. Good slice of spam, fried egg, cheese on a grilled pan de sal roll. Save the extra two bucks and just get a slider. Better yet make it at home.

I first noticed the Adobe Express truck a few years ago, because it use to park outside of my office building everyday around 12pm. I had no idea what it was and didn’t really have any intent on trying it out. I heard people describe the truck as expensive and decent. Finally, one day a friend of mine said it was good. So, I thought I would give it a try, but then the truck left and never came back… Bummer. Fast forward to the present time. Last month, I went there only to find out the truck was out of rice. Major fail. I read a very pissed off review about a time when the truck ran out of rice. I was pretty bummed and a little pissed, but I was determined to try the Adobe Truck so I gave it a try. No rice and no pork, she said. That was a dagger to the heart. It’s like walking in to a Vietnamese restaurant and the server tells you they don’t have phở or spring rolls. I thought about leaving, but I already planned to have lunch here and I already walk across a parking lot. I’ve gone too far. My first order was the beef quesadilla thing. It was just blah. I finished it in a few bites. I was very disappointed during my first visit, but I was assured that the Adobo bowls are the shiznits. So I thought I’d give this overpriced food truck another try. I saw some good looking photos on Unilocal and thought awesome I can get a $ 6 bowl and how often do I get to try Filipino food. :(Bummer number 2 the bowl prices are more around $ 7.50. That is a little more than I expected to pay. I prefer $ 6 because that is a flame broilers price, but $ 7.50 can get you a full meal at most lunch spots. I’m not that cheap, but I have a huge gripe with inflated food truck prices. I think the fad has died and I prefer restaurants verse the hipster trend. The Adobo pork bowl with and egg was pretty good. It was better with hot sauce. It tasted super fried and unhealthy. I would have preferred a little more spice. I’m not a Filipino expert so that might be the way it’s suppose to taste. All I gotta say is… there were some pretty Pinay ladies that came to get there Adobo on. I might come back just for the view. The lumpia was a bit small to me, but very tasty. The size is slightly smaller than the average steak cut fries. I washed this all down with a bottle of coke. I had exact cash, but the price turned out to be more than expected so I’m glad they take credit card. That’s a plus :). Although, it’s always a bummer to hear the a food truck price online and find out the price went up. I know it’s only a $ 1.50 more, but that’s enough to make a meal over $ 10. In Irvine, even as expensive as people claim that Asian food in Irvine is, you will still have plenty of meal options for less than $ 10 during lunch time within a short walk or drive. I think I will go back dispite my gripe with the price; however, if the Adobo truck doesn’t have rice or pork. I will walk away next time. The bowl is the best item when combined with lumpia and a drink. I only half recommend this place, because I think most Asians will like it, but I’m not convinced that this will satisfied anyone with a Western taste. It is delicious. I will just have to go to the gym a little longer to burn off the extra calories. Oops. I forgot. I was told never to mention the F and the C words. Fat and calories. Ha ha.

I tried this truck one day when they came to my office. First I have to comment on the wait time. It took about 20 min just to order and another 5 – 10 min to get your food as they were taking an order and making the orders one at a time. I’m not sure if they were short staffed that particular day but the wait was a little long. I ordered pork tacos and lumpia. The lumpia was very thin and extremely greasy. I was really disappointed in the lumpia. The pork tacos were good. The pork was tender and well seasoned.

Very happy to get a pork adobo bowl and fried garlic rice for breakfast. Pretty tasty, decent portions and the fried egg was cooked very well. The food is what I consider pretty traditional filipino food. I grew up in a filipino household but can’t cook anything myself so if you want something your ‘tita’ makes then you’ll be okay getting something here. If you want some fancy fusion mix then you’re not going to get it here, but that’s not what it’s about anyway. I usually find this truck in Irvine so it’s nice to get basic filipino food in an area that does not usually have it(as I do not get out to Cerritos or West Covina often enough to get filipino food).

Maybe I just got them on several bad days, but… their food isn’t good. I by no means am a picky eater either. This is coming from a guy who pretty much likes eating everything and anything. Their«lumpia» is pretty measly. Feels like a McDonald’s chicken nugget version of lumpia. Portions are not worth the price. You have to add soy sauce to taste anything. Two thumbs down in my humble opinion.

Finally, some decent Filipino food I have access to in South Orange County! They have«Lunch Truck Thursdays» near my work in Irvine, and I immediately saw this truck and gravitated to it like a moth to a flame. Lo and behold, they have ADOBORICEBOWLS with your choice of chicken or pork. The adobo tastes just like home. Not Americanized at all. I tried the pork and it was marinated perfectly. Not too sour, not too garlicky or sweet. They top it with a fried egg, for $ 7! The menu also had burritos, tacos, and lumpia for $ 2.50. I will try that next time. I wish they would expand the menu a little, so I took off 1 star. I suggest that they add melon/cantaloupe juice and sago juice to complete the Filipino dining experience.

Got $ 2 lumpia(they’re chicken-based) & $ 6 pork adobo bowl(with garlic rice & perfect sunny-side egg). Pork was very tender, plentiful, & flavorful. I’m picky when it comes to excess sodium. This dish was bending my salt threshold — I kept eating it despite its excessive saltiness, which means I must like it a lot. Sriracha is available for self-serve. The chefs were extremely friendly. I was informed they also offer vegetarian substitutes. They will be visiting near Alton & Red Hill 11:00 — 1:30ish on Tuesdays OR Thursdays, depending on other commitments. Location is always listed on their site. Can’t wait to try the pork adobo burrito!

I wasn’t going to eat lunch today but the Filipino in me saw that Adobo Express was going to be at our weekly irvine food truck lunch event and i instantly got hungry. I can easily say that adobo express has the smallest menu in the world. Just three items on the menu. I saw the reviews and was a little skiddish at first, but I’m happy I went. I got the pork adobo bowl. It included garlic rice, adobo and a fried over medium egg. The order was quick, probably under 4 mins. I got back to work and dug in. Overall it was good. Other reviews talk about the dish being pretty bland compared to the traditional adobo, which is true. But I think the scaled back version they serve with the amount of rice they offer works well. Usually the traditional adobo base can be strong that even a full cup of rice can’t even save you. The meat was a little tough and I kind of wish I had a knife, but again the filipino in me was fine with using my hands to eat.(and that’s not meant to be racist, it’s logical!) The fried egg was a nice touch. It added additional creaminess to the bites. The menu size may be holding back Adobo Express a bit. Now they just need to figure out how to package Sinigang and I’ll eat here every week :) 3.5 stars but I’ll bump it up to a 4 star because more people need to try them out. It’s really cool to be able to get Filipino food on-the-go especially if you live in an area that lacks Filipino restaurants.

I was looking forward to trying this truck. I went wanting to order the pork adobo but i saw pork belly and went with that instead. I also got an order of lumpia. It took a long while to get my order. My taste buds are pretty familiar with filipino cuisine as alot of my friends were filipino growing up and had many dinners at their house. The pork belly bowl came with garlic rice, pork belly and a sunny side up egg on top. There was very little hint of garlic in the rice. The pork belly wasn’t really seasoned very well. Actually the whole bowl pretty much was missing flavor. No sauces were given to you and the yolk was not helping any. It was just a eh bowl The lumpia was not lumpia in my opinion. There was something in there but I really couldnt make out what it was primarily because it was small and thin and you only got 2pcs for $ 3 so not right!!! I wish I stuck with the adobo, maybe it tastes better but im not sure if I want to try this truck again. It was«I want to cuss in tagalog cuz it was not good» sadness!
