Food good but music is so friggin loud I can’t hear anyone talk and plates in kitchen also clanking loudly.

Solid taco find! Tasty, fresh, and LOVEEEEETHEIRGUAC! We got several tacos: — charbroiled fish(tasty but a little dry) — blackened fish(even drier. wasn’t a fan) — shrimp(SUPERFLAVORFUL! Love this, get this if you like your cheese and cream bc it comes covered with it) — carne asada(really juicy and nicely marinated) We also got the guac and chips — you cannot go wrong with guac in general but this GUAC knows what it’s doing. A+ Everything was super fresh and there’s a station for you to get your salsas, pico de gallo, limes, onions, and other condiments on! The place was busy when we came around 1pm on Father’s Day, but the food and service were still fast and friendly. And we didn’t have trouble finding seating indoors. For our 5 tacos and guac+chips, the total came out to be $ 26 — not bad at all considering how stuffed you feel afterwards!

Their tacos are not $ 1.50 each, but I am OK with $ 3 tacos as long as they are not super tiny or not outrageously priced. This is not Poquito Más in LA(I miss that place!), but I really enjoyed my fish taco and shrimp taco. The salsa bar had a nice selection of salsas ranging from mild to hot(not that hot really). I did steal a few bites off of my boyfriend’s plate(mmm burrito…), but I was pretty full after the 2 tacos. The staff were busy clearing table and assisting people. They seem like a one big(taco) family! I did enjoy my dinner and would definitely go back for more tacos!

Not to be confused with Baja Fresh, that would be a big mistake. Blackened fish, shrimp tacos w/cotija, delicious salsa bar, fast and efficient service. I’ve never waited for more than five minutes for my food, even during a busy lunch hour. Call ahead, dine in. Lunch, dinner. Just do it.

Love THISPLACE! Baja fish tacos is a small chain that never fails to impress with their all-of-the-above recipe of: reliable quality of food, great selection of generally healthy quick-Mex favorites, super freshness, friendly service, great locations, and value/low prices. I can’t say enough great things about the several locations I’ve tried and can’t believe I’ve wasted my time with fast food/places like Del taco and el pollo loco all these years. If only Baja Fish had even more stores everywhere, I’d be a daily addict. It’s like a special event when there’s one near me around a meal time. I chose to dine at the Irvine/lake forest location for my 30th bday meal. out of all options available. lol. Something about their rice. their fish.their salsas. absolute delicious flavor heaven in every bite. They bring the food to your table. real plates and metal silverware. Dining environment casual and fun but nice, clean, with a little character/class. I’d recommend it to anyone. Yum yum time!

We selected this place because of the location and reviews for a business lunch. The service was great and it was clean. All four of us were happy with our meal although I ordered the unwrapped burrito with charbroiled fish and it was just ok. It seemed like a very plain salad and the fish had a really strange texture. It wouldn’t flake at all — I had to cut it with a knife and still it was sort of difficult to cut. It didn’t have much flavor. I wish I’d chosen a different meat. The salsas were great, the guacamole was great and I loved that we could get fresh lime wedges, cilantro and fresh onions too. Also the bathrooms were very clean and I very much appreciate that!

Meh kind of forgettable. There are plenty of other options in the area. Do yourself a favor and unless you are on a lunch break looking for fast food go elsewhere.

I just stopped in for a small bite, a taco The blackened fish taco was very tasty. The prices were not cheap as Mexican food can be(and there’s no taco Tues) but it was busy, clearly popular and probably a fair value for the money. My small taco was over $ 4. The fish was good, but not really what I’d call blackened.

I love this place! I always get the unwrapped burrito with carne asada and it’s the perfect salad! Their carne asada is some of the best I’ve had, even from some hole in the wall authentic restaurants. I however, don’t really care for their fish tacos/fish in general. Should just rename this place Baja Carne Asada. None the less it’s a great lunch spot, but it does get super packed so calling in an order ahead of time is definitely a good idea!

This place is absolutely incredible! At first glance, it looks like a normal fast food taco place tucked in the corner… must have driven by it couple times and didn’t even see that it was there. After MANY many friends insisted that I stop by and give it a try, I can’t imagine going anywhere else now. First time there, I had the chicken baja salad, just super fresh lettuce, avocado, and the dressing was light and delicious. Second visit, I had the shrimp tacos… OMG! so flavorful and juicy… I really can’t think of any other place that has better shrimp tacos.(including popular Mexican food restaurants charging 3 times the price in OC) Third visit, I had a carne asada burrito and know that my life will never be the same. I have been in at least once a week now, and apparently the Costa Mesa/Newport PD all share my love for this place. Trust me, if the cops eat here, this place is legit!

I’m not sure what all of the hype is about. I got a grilled fish taco and carne asada taco. I thought both tacos were terribly dry. I even added all the salsa, hot sauce, onions, parsley, lime, etc. The corn tortilla was ok, but I wish it was heated up a little. Maybe they did heat it up but it didn’t seem like it. Either way, I am not a fan of baja fish tacos.

I tried this place out for the first time since it is literally around the corner from a relatives house. Everything was amazing! I had the blackened fish plate with black beans and I ate everything! We also ordered the chicken nachos which were not only delicious but huge and asada tacos which were flavored to perfection. I will definitely come back.

This place is bomb! I tried it for the first time during my lunch hour and thought I would be waiting for ever since it was really busy inside. I was wrong my order was ready in less then 5 min. I was surprised. About the food now… I got the baja bowl with chicken and it was soooo good. The rice is great and the portion of meat was just right. My coworker got the shrimp enchiladas combo and he said he loved it as well. I am definitely coming back here. If you want a legit bowl not what chipotle offers but good stuff you should check this place out.

How do they cook their meats so perfectly with char taste? It’s juicy but flavorful. Every meat I’ve had here is cooked deliciously. My fave is the chicken enchilada with green sauce combo. Love the hint of sour in the sauce, I can’t stop eating it until it’s all done.

On this first Lenten Friday, I found myself craving fish tacos, but not happy with the fare at the local chain restaurant. Unilocal pointed me to Baja Fish Tacos with reviews of «heavenly pinto beans». I’ve yet to have any sort of bean described as heaven, so decided to give it a whirl. This place does NOT disappoint! Huge portions, tasty rice and scrumptious pinto beans! Also got chips n guacamole, fresh on both accounts. Pico de gallo and roasted tomatillo salsa were very tasty as well. Service was prompt and courteous and despite being a very busy night, the dining area was well kept. $ 20 with a drink, so a bit steep all things considered, but the flavors don’t disappoint!

After a long stressful day of laying on the beach soaking up some rays one starts to build an appetite of mammoth proportions. Originally I wanted to head to Bear Flag, but opted for the Unilocal bookmark list. You see this is why I love Cali; delicious Mexican food is competitive so that means great options for me. I noticed how highly rated this place was and considering your in New Port that’s a great sign. So like the hungry hippos that we were the burrito seemed filling, sensible, and fire. I was with my cousin and her friends who were visiting from London. My initial thought was that these ladies would not even come close to finishing their burritos. We all ordered the blackened fish. At first glance they look to large to consume, but what I didn’t realize is that there were no beans and rice in my edible pillow. Wtf. Not to worry because I enjoyed going in on all protein. Had it not been as good as advertised I would have taken it back. Still even without the interior carbs the burrito can be a task. Of course I had no problem because of the flavor profile, but I was surprised to look up and see these girls whole heartedly destroying their food. Whoa. N o t o n e b i t e l e f t.

After reading the reviews describing«the best fish taco» ever, I knew I had to come to this place. Unfortunately, I was duped similar to an episode of catfish. Yes I Kevin Kottke was catfished by Baja fish tacos. I had the combination plate with two Ensenada style tacos with white rice and black beans. Sad to say but the battered fish was dry and tasteless. The white rice was… ummm…plain white rice. The black beans tasted like plain olé black beans. Not sure what the rave about this place is but I definitely don’t think it’s anything special. The food is also kind of pricey for what you get. They have some nice salsas and their pico de gallo is fresh but unfortunately to me that’s like having the best condiments. Not sure about you but I’ve never heard of anyone saying«bad hotdog but did you try that mustard. That mustard is the s**t.»

My god they have some great fish here! I love both their grilled and breaded fish tacos, as well as the daily special, salmon. My husband had the shrimp and asada and loved both as well. The burritos and bowls are very generous in size and well worth the price, the tacos, however are tiny and super expensive, I get that the quality is great and I spruce them at at their salsa bar which I love but the value is still not quite there and that’s the only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars. Service is great, food comes out quickly, really great meal that is fresh and healthy.

Gosh. I love this place. Their tacos are pretty delicious and I could always find myself coming back for more(thinking about it just makes my mouth water). Their two-taco combo plate is one heck of a carb-filler(but so yummy). I normally just order separate tacos, but on this visit I was actually able to sit down and eat a full meal(rare for my on-the-go self!). I am absolutely in LOVE with their Shrimp Tacos. Anyone who has ever been here before will stand by that. Their shrimp is so juicy and plump and they use just enough(lot more than other places) to give you your fix. They mix it in with fresh vegetables, smothered in a crave-worthy Parmesan cheese topping and seasonings that just melt in your mouth. It’s a lovely, fresh take on the Shrimp Taco that is very large and filling(surprised their flour tortilla somehow manages to keep everything up). I also love their Ensenada Style tacos, but their shrimp is a game changer. If you do decide to go for the combo plate, get ready to be filled! The rice and fresh beans(black or pinto) balance the meal well and make it heartier. Whenever I’m craving a good solid seafood taco, Baja is my go-to. There’s a reason people love this place so much. Promising, quick beachside eatery to fulfill both your craving AND hunger! Yum.
