Took my husband’s scooter he needs for his broken ankle to have brakes fixed. These guys went the extra mile to find the needed parts and get it back to him in the same day.

I came in looking for some mineral oil and they didn’t have any on the shelf. Since I just needed a few drops in my brake system, I asked if I could just have a little bit from the back. Nope. The guy at the front counter with the gauges and piercings is a joke and absolute no help.

Customer service is terrible, the main guy behind the register wearing glasses wasn’t very friendly and the owner wasn’t either no smile and he seemed to be in a hurry and seemed like he just wanted me to finish with my questions and leave as soon as possible. Not to mention accessories we’re way over priced, I wouldn’t come here to get my bike service or buy bike accessories. If you want great customer service go to two wheels one planet, their bikes are top of the line and expensive and so are the accessories but I much rather spend my money where my presence is appreciated.

Candy and I were becoming friends & then I found out when I left my bike at his shop he would allow his friends and other customers to ride my Basso. See he didn’t keep Basso bikes in stock and he was trying to be a sales rep for them. Candy how do you represent a bike maker without their bikes in stock? Oh you let them ride your friends bike without your friends knowledge. If you like to test ride a Basso I suggest you go to the bike shop in Sunset Beach. WARNINGWARNING candy is not certified to work on electronic shifters. He will look you straight in the eye and tell you he is but I check with Shimano he’s never taken any of the classes. What he does is go on YouTube and then tries to fix your shifters.

Came here 50 miles away… Got a chance to meet the owner and his family running the shop. They are very helpful in researching anything you need, also they don’t mind recommending other local shops if they don’t carry a certain products as well. They have a good selection on what you need for the road. Not the biggest selection but certainly not the smallest either. I recommend this place for any cycle enthusiast… Thank you everyone for your help and services.

Please do not Support this Shady Candy Character. He will milk you to the bone… I came in 2 weeks ago to have my Crank swapped. Initially he reeled me in for the 25 $ to swap cranks, which was fine, than after the job was completed he asked me for 35 – 45 to have the front and rear derailer adjusted. It totally caught me off gaurd so i decided to leave. During the convo of the price to have the derailers adjusted he told me that the rear derailer wasn’t working, and gave me some excuse as if the battery died or whatnot. so i took his word for that. i went to a local bike shop in my area, and he did a diagnosis of how my rear derailer of my DI2 and figured out that the wires on my rear derailer shifter has been pulled. That was the reason why it was not working. I called Candy and he said he played no part in the situation and started giving me a hard time. My local bike shop fixed the problem free of charge, and at his shop he charges 25 – 35 $ for a complete job with front and rear tune-up. He told me no shop does crank swaps without adjusting… Incident 2, I bought crank bolts, for the spare power meter dura ace crank from him and paid 16 for(SHIMANOLEFTCRANKBOLT, EACHFOR2-PCE DURAACEFC-7800/03) He expected me to pay for 2 more bolts when i picked up the bolts today at 3.99 each. After he said that i had not paid for the 2 additonal bolts. He gave me such a hard time for defending myself today, I don’t encourage anyone to come back. I am pretty sure that is why this shady character does not work at SURFCYCLERY in hb now.

I came in for a service and the technician took the time to explain to me why he shouldn’t service the bike. Very honest when he could’ve simply taking my money while leaving me happy not knowing the difference. When I buy my next bike I will buy it here!

I had just bought a new bike at a major chain and the pedal came off while I was riding on Fairview. Could have been a real issue because I veered out of control out of the bike lane and into the street. Fortunately the light was in my favor and there was no traffic at the moment. I walked my bike to the corner at Baker and found this shop. Owner helped me right away. If you want a good hearted and high quality bike mechanic … go here.

Candy is one of the friendliest guys you will meet. I bought a gel seat for my wife and after I brought it home and put it on her bike, we rode back to the store and he helped her get it to the right height and angle. He even did it for my bike as well!(My wife and I are bike newbies so we appreciated the help). Top notch guy and a very clean store. Wouldn’t hesitate coming back for any of our biking needs.

There are many shops in the area which offer good service, but Candy and his crew at Cycle Tech offer GREAT service and he is a highly skilled mechanic. You are not pressured or overwhelmed when you visit his shop. He is fair and truly wants to help. His passion for cycling is evident. Go there and see for yourself. I recommend Cycle Tech

Candy Is the best mechanic in socal. Im glad he opened his own shop. The shop is located in a great area with easy access to the freeway. The friendly service every time I am at the shop is great. He has a wide rage of all types of bikes and if you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, he can always build it for you. So definitely go check out cycle tech it’s the best bike shop around.

Candy has been my preferred mechanic for a long while starting years back when he worked for other bike shops. Since opening Cycletech, his own shop, I have had him build a new triathlon bike /road bike hybrid by Ceepo.(the black mamba) for me. I am happy to see he continues as an excellent mechanic and couldn’t be happier with the results. He truly does know what he is doing and works with a professional and conscientious attention to detail that makes a difference. He and cycle tech have my highest recommendation.

Great little local bike shop! Glad to see a good shop opened on another street besides 17th street. Candy, the owner, was extremely helpful when we brought my wife’s cruiser in for repair and a new added accessory for the bike. They were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this shop and will be back to support this great little business.
