The food was delicious and they serve hefty portions! We got the hummus and torshi for appetizers and chicken koobideh and the beef shish kabob for our entrees. We highly recommend all of these choices! And we were given the house Cabernet as a suggestion for pairing it with what we ordered. Another great choice! And their customer service was also great. Our server was friendly and the food came out rather quickly. And another important thing is that they didn’t rush us out. We were one of the last customers to walk in — probably within 30 minutes of them closing — but yet they took their time in providing us food and beverage suggestions after we told them that it’s our first time here and have no idea what to order. And we were certainly the last customers to leave, yet they made us feel welcome and not rushed. The reason for the four stars is because the atmosphere is pretty eh. They only have one TV(either have multiple or none at all) and although they placed a few Persian décor here and there, it’s obvious that they didn’t put much effort into transforming the space into THEIR space, rather they are working with the previous restaurants layout.

Definitely in the top 3 best and most delicious persian foods I have had in southern California, with half — literally — the prices the other ones. The service is great too, because it’s family owned and operated, and they are very friendly, though professional. You feel the typical Iranian home style hospitality.

Love Persian food. Big portion to share or take home. Convenient parking lot in the back. Staff was great too.

The best Barg in town. I put my reputation on it. Now the stews and other dishes have several negatives I can write about. But that’s true with every Persian resturante from San Diego to Los Angeles. Order Kabob and I’m sure you will love it.(Persian stews are very difficult and time consuming) I am yet to find a resturante with decent stew.

One of the best Persian food you can have in Newport Beach. I went there with a party of 4 people we all had different meals and I personally loved their boneless chicken breast and the chicken sultanai. The spicy chicken is really spicy so I would recommend to have the spicy sauce on the side in order to try it first. I also highly recommend the combination meals of both the chicken and beef. Their rice with saffron is amazing too. Regarding their appetizers, the torchi is really good and their mesto-kheir too. The manager and the waiters were friendly. I loved the outside area, works well for a date. Overall it a place worth a try.

Amazing food, amazing service. A small little gem of a Persian restaurant in Orange County. Their Kshk o bademjoon, Cornish chicken are my faves.

I just found a hair on my chicken koobideh. I told them about it and they told me that they will tell manager. After few minutes, no manager showed up nor no apology we got. They did not say sorry and it seemed they did not care or to avoid us. They including the waiters are so rude and slow. It seems like they did not care anything about it. I don’t know how this restaurant got this high rating. Don’t ever come to this restaurant, just go to other kebob restaurants.

The place is amazing with impeccable service. Outside seating is a must and the food is on point. You’ll have to taste for yourself.

Hands down Darbari Grill is the best Persian Restaurant in Orange County. Yes better than Hatam, Capsian, Darya, & House of Kabob. Tonight was my 2nd time eating here. The food was fresh, the service is excellent. They may not be as big as the other places however one thing that went above and beyond to me was the level of respect the staff has for each other. Everyone speaks to each other with respect and smiles and it reflects in the environment and how they treat their guests. The food itself is amazing but service is on another level. You will not be disappointed.

How can this restaurant be almost 5 star while even the manager take no responsibility for meeting his costumers satisfactions. like the majority of people, I chose this restaurant according to the Unilocal reviews. However, it has became the worth experience ever. Me and my husband came to this restaurant with two of our friends for the very first time. The lady who took our orders seemed to be on rush and she didn’t confirm our orders. After awhile, they brought three meals instead of four. We all thought that they are still preparing our friend lunch, so we waited for about 5 minutes. No one came, therefore, my friend asked for his lunch, and what the waitress responded was«You didn’t have any order.» After re-ordering it took another 15 mins to bring our friend’s meal and by that time our lunch was finished! Clearly, it was their mistake. However, no one offered any discount and not even apologized for their mistake. Comparing to other Persian restaurants the food quality is not very good, I ordered boneless chicken and It came completely burned and dried.

The food is excellent and the service is superior. Small family owned business across the street from triangle square. Great quality and very clean. It is a small restuarant and I came here to eat with a friend around 2pm and was not very crowded. The waitress checked on us to make sure we were accommodated and if we needed anything else. One of my friends hadn’t eaten Persian food before and she made great recommendations and explained the menu to my friend very well. Overall very friendly and was very impressed with the food and the service. Thank you for the great experience, will definitely come back.

Unbelievable … I’m in heaven in my own home right now I ordered the chicken and beef koobideh it was so amazing ! Everything from the bread to the meat and how well it was seasoned to the rice and the roasted tomato! I also ordered the eggplant appetizer dish and the mint yogurt. It was all so worth the price and I’m happy I found this place and gave it a try. Tastes just like what I know.

I’m giving three stars only. I was very disappointed with the Spicy chicken ! Was very dry with the most absolute worst quality of chicken pieces. Being the chicken was so dry There was just no taste. I was surprised since I read previous reviews that stated different. The rice was actually very tasty. But that was it. The hummus which is $ 5.99 was very runny thinned out as if one was trying to make more out of what they had. Not even a real Julius taste. The pita bread was so annoying to unwrap from the Saran Wrap. The pita bread was cut into 4 square pieces. With one order of hummus @$ 5.99 all they give us three small pita“s cut into 4 squares. Overall, don’t waste your money. I will stick with Chicken Marsela in Santa Ana. Better kabob, better quality of chicken and better taste. And much cheaper than this nasty tasting Persian food.

Tried this place for the first time on Saturday with my husband and mother-in-law. Beautifully decorated interior. We were quickly greeted and sat by what I believe was the owner. Menu has a good variety, something for everyone. I ordered the Kabob Barq with all rice. Food came fairly quickly(although mine came out about 5 minutes after the rest of the table’s dishes). My only complaint is what was called filet mignon did not taste like filet mignon nor was it the correct texture. It was more like a skirt steak than a filet mignon. Either way, it was still delicious and I ate most of my plate, and took the remainder home for lunch the next day. Sodas here are served in a can with a glass of ice, so just be forewarned that if you want a refill you will be charged the full price for another can(not that this a problem, just something to note). We will be coming back to this restaurant in the future, but I will probably order the chicken kabob rather than the steak.

This Place is wondrous. I’m definitely going back. I eat Persian food everywhere. But this place is absolutely delicious. Everything is perfectly cooked and spiced. They give you bread and butter while you wait(which I love) it’s very reasonably priced. Very friendly. A man who may have been the owner was very attentive and hospitable. The restaurant is on the smaller side and was pretty packed(on a Friday night) but I found parking and seating easily. I don’t know if I got lucky or if this is how it always is.

Delicious Persian food. It’s my kid’s favorite place for a pick up meal to eat at home. Their favorite is shish kabob, chicken barg and rice and there is plenty left over for another meal. The ingredients are always fresh and the service is awesome.

Ordered chicken and beef sultani with the cherry rice and tzaziki sauce. It was pretty decent, but it was the safe price as Raffies in Glendale and was probably only half as good. The beef minion was not in chunks and not nicely charred. The cherry rice lacked cherries. The cucumber yoghurt sauce was runny and they barely gave us any! Not to mention we got a very small amount of flat bread and NO roasted peppers with our meal. So the meal was good, but for the price I expected a lot more.

Always a pleasure dining here. My husband and I eat at Darbari’s 2 to 3 times a month. We’re always greeted with a hug and treated like family. Food is delicious and service is always the best. If you’re looking for delicious Persian food, come here. We always order the filet beef sultani. Outstanding! Thank you Medhi(owner) for another wonderful dinner!

Located right off the 55 offramp in a congested section of Newport Blvd, you could easily drive by this place if you blink. Hopefully, you won’t do that because the food here is fantastic! I’ve dined here a number of occasions and the food is consistently good. They serve traditional Persian cuisine in a casually quaint and clean, semi-elegant atmosphere. It’s owned by a husband and wife who always provide friendly service with a smile. Now if you’re unfortunate enough to come during the busy dining rush, don’t fret, you can order to go or even save yourself a chunk of time by ordering off the Unilocal app ;) there’s ample parking in the back of the restaurant but because it’s a small place, seating is limited. That being said, every time I’ve dined here, I’ve managed to snag the very last seat! Now if I was only that lucky with the Powerball ticket :/ When it comes to the menu, you can’t go wrong with any of the combos, namely the Chicken and Beef Koubideh Combo with a side of their homemade yogurt cucumber mint dip. It’s Incredibly good. In fact, its easily become my go-to whenever I dine here and it has yet to disappoint me. What makes this dish so good you ask? The MEAT. It is absolutely dee.lish.uss. Every bite is incredibly tender, juicy and flavorful. Tack on the supporting cast of fluffy basmati rice, juicy whole roasted tomato and you’ve got yourself a substantial meal that not only satisfies but will completely satiate the most ravenous of appetites. Oh, I can’t forget about the yogurt dip. It’s pretty much tzatziki sauce but with a very cool minty finish. It’s creamy and refreshing, yet light. It makes a perfect accompaniment to the proteins and adds a great balance to the grilled items on the plate. So glad I found this place cuz when I’m ever in the mood for koubideh and fine Persian cuisine at a reasonable price, this is definitely the spot I’ll choose every time. Happy Eats!
