This place was delicious, service was courteous, kind and fast and we loved the ambiance! Will definitely return for more empanadas!

Empanadas were good but not great. The were a bit over fried for my liking. I enjoy going to portos for their variety but they haven’t reached oc just yet so I thought I’d check this place out since we were in the neighborhood. Actually pricey for their empanadas. Their dessert a bit sweet and over caramelized I have a sweet tooth and it was still too sweet for me. We came in and it was not so busy but still took 15minutes to make. I can appreciate fresh but not overly crisped. Won’t be coming back, really wanted to like them based on all these great reviews CASHONLYWTF!!! ATM next to Subway if needed but seriously WTF!!!

Think of empanadas as authentic pizza pockets with cool fillings. Two or three would fill up a patron and I definitely recommend patrons to try their house speciality. The décor in the shop is really cute and would make for a great place to meet up for a date or hang out with the girls. Two thumbs up!

–Rant— Been dying to try this place out and I have to say I’m not disappointed in the least! I ordered 5 empanadas: Spicy Beef, Spicy Chicken, Spicy Cheesy Beef, Spicy Cheesy Chicken(didn’t see that one on their menu but they had it!) and the lemon Beef one. Damn things were SOGOOD!!! Meat stuff pastries couldn’t have tasted better! In terms of quality, the empanadas were crisp and golden brown on the outside, no leakage and larger than typical empanadas/samosas. Upon taking a huge bite, the stuffing oozes in glorious gooey fashion(cheese, sauce, meat, delish). CASHONLY!!! They don’t take CC? Get on Square or something!!! Kind of inconvenient but I figured it was worth it to run to the local ATM. Be sure to get some CASH before coming here! The atmosphere… I don’t think I’d want to dine there… the place is small and kinda dingy/cheap looking. Tables are really compacted in. That and the area surrounding is slightly ghetto… eww. But who gives a crap about that, I came here for the FOOD and the food lived up to my expectations!!! —Overall— Service: A. Sweet ladies. Even gave me a cookie while I waited! Short wait time for my meaty pastries! Food: A. Pretty good stuff! Stuffed pastries are a pretty nice change of pace compared to my usual meal prepped lunches. Atmosphere: C. Kinda dingy, small hole in the wall place. AND they don’t take CC!!! Value: A-. If only they take CCs. But the empanadas are exactly what I expected and were super filling!

The Food: The sandwiches are huge and delicious! I also had a ham and cheese empanada which was amazing. The Place: Parking wasn’t too easy you may just wanna park on the street. The restaurant is also small so there could be a wait if you’re eating in. The service: Quick service and the employees were incredibly friendly.

This place is awesome vegetarian options too. I would love to see one further south so I could go more often. The ladies who run this place are very sweet and friendly too.

Their empanadas come out piping hot oozing with cheese yum, but be careful not to burn your tongue. Today we decided to go with a variety of vegetarian empanadas. We ordered the spinach, the potato & cheese, the eggplant, and the picante which had bell pepper. I recommend all of them except for the potatoe & cheese cuz it was a lil bland but my fav’s were definitely the spinach and the eggplant. So many to try, next time I might have to order the dozen and wear my stetchy pants lol.

My husband loves this place. He was in Argentina when he was little and he knows what is the real Empanadas — with eggs and olives in them. He totally loves this place.

I am completely addicted to their empanadas! This little place is hidden in a small strip mall but the restaurant itself is charming. The staff is ALWAYS very friendly. Food is made fresh and tastes delicious every time we have been there. There is also outdoor seating to enjoy the great weather of Orange County. Glad I found this little hidden gem. I visited Chile and Argentina and loved the empanadas there. Now I can get them without flying 4,000 miles!

The owner who was working the front(whose name I regretfully have forgotten) seemed to try incredibly hard once she caught wind that it was our first time here. It felt that my company and I were being waited on hand and foot as the ownder was doing her best to try and win our loyalty. She even gave us free cookie samples! Kudos first and foremost to this incredibly hard working woman. The empanadas we got were all pretty massive and overall bigger than what we had imagined from all the pictures. Stick out your hand, and imagine the empanada stretching from the tip of your middle finger to a little farther than the end of your wrist. Other places, I’m lucky to even get 2/3’s of that size. I had the spicy beef and criolla empanadas with a cappuccino on the side. The empanadas were made as we ordered, as noticed by the cook walking back once hearing the order and repeating it. The pastries, and coffee for that matter, came out piping hot but not scalding, and were perfectly flaky. The place is small and it is located in a tiny plaza that seems a bit dingy, but the parking lot is pretty large so it is a great place to get a large tray of empanadas to go if you choose not to dine-in. Personally, I’d rather take my time and enjoy the cute interior as I am getting to know the owners of this quaint little shop.

Simply disgusting! I ordered a spicy chicken and a spicy beef empanadas. First impression they look bad no presentation at all, smelled like reused cooking oil. Broke one open with my fork and oil started dripping everywhere, not a good sign. Took a bite and all I could taste was cooking oil OMG! I got up and let the lady know they were uneatable and were the worst kind I ever… paid my bill and left. I don’t know why these reviews are good? I’m of Italian and Argentinian decent and I’m ashamed this place even exists! If you want to try delicious empanadas go to Beba’s Restaurant in Anaheim call first though because they have weird hours.

I hate to give this place 2 stars but there have been too many issues in the few times that I’ve come here. Both times that I took my order to go, the order was either wrong or items were missing. I’ve tried the spicy cheesy beef a couple times and they really skimp on the filling! The empanada was mostly filled with air. The empanadas are pretty big but they’re just ok. I’ve definitely had better

Holy Moly these empanadas are huge. Just be prepared if you’re on a diet, it’s going to be a cheat day. +Family owned empanada shop. They are legit Argentinean and are super sweet +Empanadas are made from scratch and have a number of yummy fillings(So far my favorite are Criolla and Spicy Beef) +Easy parking –The batter/empanada skin is like a giant wonton wrapper except thicker so it is quite oily. I wish they would use a little less wrapper/empanada skin. After awhile that fills you up and you feel all greasy. I suggest tearing the top piece off since it’s all skin anyhow. Just eat the part connected to the filling! Pro Tip: –Cash Only

We tried this hidden little gem of a place for a late Sunday afternoon lunch. A few things that you need to know: it is cash only, tables are small and seat 4. Empanadas are meat pies(like a fresh hot pocket) they have dipping sauce that adds to the dining experience. We tried: Criolla(Really good!) Spicy cheesy chicken(good) Pepperoni(pretty good) Poblano chili(really good) Dulce la leche cookie(just okay) It was a new and fun experience. The service was great!

The workers here are super nice and its a very cozy place although not ideal for large groups. I got their beef, chicken, cheesy spicy beef, and ham and cheese. I really liked the cheesy spicy beef, it had more flavor than the others. I will definitely come back to try them all!

The lady here is so sweet! Was craving empanadas from my last trip to New York and was looking at local places that sold empanadas. I’ve always driven by this place and saw the blue neon signs but never gave it a chance because I thought I wouldn’t like empanadas. We walked in here on a friday night at around 7PM and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The lady greeted us and had us sit down anywhere. The empanadas here are roughly $ 3.29 and they’re pretty big! Bang for the buck! Between 2 people we ordered 5. The five empanadas were: 2 spicy chicken(I realized you could order the cheesy one too!), 1 spicy cheesy beef, 1 pepperoni, and 1 potato and cheese. My least favorite was the pepperoni one. They all come out extremely hot so be careful! It reminds me of biting into a hot pocket right when it comes out of the microwave. There were also two different types of sauces that they offered. The chimichurri and another one. I liked the chimichurri sauce. The empanadas were good and we were full! Then the lady proceeded to bring us out desserts. How nice! She gave us 2 complimentary and we shared both. They were okay, I personally wouldn’t order them. It was a different taste of desserts I wasn’t used to. The macaron looking one had a lime taste and the other one was sweet. They both had powder on the outside of it and was kinda dry. Our meal came out to be $ 17 something and we put down $ 21(This place is CASHONLY). As we headed for the door, the lady calls us back and says the $ 20 was enough and to take back the rest. I thought that was such a sweet gesture. We kept insisting she keep it all(after all it wasn’t much) but she said nooooo! Overall, definitely would come here again for my empanada fix!

You know, I feel pretty bad leaving a not so great rating for this place. Not that there was anything really BAD about this place, but there were just too may short comings for me to ever come back. So I got the cheesy spicy beef empanada and the milanesa sammich. The empanada was great, easily 4 stars; not 5 because I feel like it is overpriced, but I would be excited if anyone ever handed me one and said, «a gift from me to your your tastebuds.» :high five: However the milanesa sammich was $ 13. It came with fries that were… honestly just filler. The sammich was big and the steak was bigger then the bread which is always nice. Maybe thats supposed to justify the cost but I got through half the sammich and i just got bored of it and didn’t eat anymore of it. It just wasn’t good enough to put the effort in to keep chewing; that’s really not a good thing. Maybe this isn’t the fault of the restaurant, maybe that’s just the way a milanesa sammich is supposed to be. Either way, don’t get it. Admittedly, if I had a couple empanadas instead of the milanesa, this review would be 4 stars however, when I go to places like this that are highly ethnic, I like to try a few things, not just a bunch of the same stuff. Anyhow, probably a good place to go get a dozen empanadas for a party, but I’m sure there are cheaper places.

Unilocal challenge 2015. 169⁄365 Driving south on Harbor Blvd just before Baker st off the 405 my heart skipped a beat, my eyes took a blink, and my stomach sank. All for empanadas. You know when you forget about a bookmark, then drive right on by then ask yourself why didn’t I know about this place. Only to see you Bookmarked it years ago. Finally I made it here. But my wallet was empty and only had enough dough for 2 Empanadas. I ordered the beef and spicy chicken. These tasty babies were hugemonhous and full of stuff. I was very pleased. She even gave me a free cookie. The kindess lady ever works there. She is very friendly and loves to talk. The empanadas are made to order, so it will take about 12 minutes. These pockets full of love are about $ 3.29 each plus tax. Bring cash! !! I am a fan!!! #659

+ Small cozy place + Indoor/outdoor seating + Delicious empanadas + Large number of empanada types + Good prices I’m a big fan of this place and recently took my parents here. They are hard to please so I wasn’t very hopeful, but to my surprise they loved it. The place is small, yet is large enough for a large number of guests. The empanadas are not expensive and there are lots of types to try, from meat filled to veggie and cheese filled. Sometimes if you’re lucky, they give you a small plate of those little dessert«cookies» they have. I don’t know what they’re called but they are amazing. Way too tasty to be healthy I think haha. If you’re looking for a quick meal that’s different from your regular chain restaurant, this is the place to go.

Gnarly, dude. That means mondo in surfer speak. Oh… yeah…that means awesome and big and cool. I just had to throw that in… we were in Costa Mesa, an *almost* beach town. Blond surfer-type sightings everywhere. Just trying to get in the«groove». We came here based on great Unilocal reviews. And, no lie, they were absolutely right on! The empanadas seem pricey, but are twice the size of normal ones. And the pastry is really fine. There are so many fillings, meat and vegetarian, you could choke a horse. But I didn’t want to share with him. The one everyone raves about, the Criolla(ground beef picadillo) empanada, was ok, but not as good as those I had at Corona’s El Pollo Kri-ollo. But I actually found the potato filling(with cheese and cilantro) made me feel quite stoked(yep, a big thumbs up). But then, we did not try them all, so I guess we will have to return. Sigh. They also offer a few interesting sandwiches, Argentine of course. One is the Milanese. We preferred to do without the bread, so we asked to plate it as a dinner entrée, not offered on the menu. I am here to tell you, this Milanese was out of this world. It was a well pounded steak, thin to perfection, big enough to cover the plate, and which had then been marinated in something that had green leaves(maybe their chimichurri ?). Then they lightly breaded it with a Japanese panko or something equally delicate, and pan fried it. All we had to do was squeeze some lemon on it. Beautiful! Every bite made us cry, so good. Radical, bodacious food! Glad we made it out there. Hear me scream, Cowabunga!
