Went in for a quick sandwich on my lunch, the girl who helped me was very short and not polite. I asked for salt and pepper on my sandwich and was told they had packets on the side. While I waited and watched the girl NOT find packets I stared at the 2 shakers right above where they make the sandwiches. I don’t know why this employee had to make me getting lunch difficult, but I definitely left this place with a bad taste in my mouth.

New owners. So far, the food seems just ok. Something about the potato salad I tried recently didn’t taste the same. I tried a pastrami sandwich for the first time and it was pretty good. Not amazing. Just a-OK. I’ll probably stick with the sausages from now on. The hours are kind of a bummer. They close at 6pm and are closed on sundays.

Honestly drove this place a million times until my boss brought me here to experience a true deli. He told me to get a sandwich and it was damn good! Everyone needs to know about this place. He also bought some sausages of some sort and his wife made a soup out of them, let’s just say my assumptions tell me you can’t find quality like that anymore. To take a risk and open up a deli is gutsy, but I really think they knew they had something special & I agree! P. S. They were extremely nice, family like environment

So friendly and great service! I ordered a large amount of food for an Oktoberfest party and they offered great prices and helped me every step of the way. Also the food was AMAZING! Will definitely be coming here again

Great spot for authentic German food! Amazing soup and sandwiches! The new owners have kept the traditions of the old owners to a tee!(As per the previous owners request upon sale). We love their sauerkraut and brats! Also nice beer selection and packaged German foods. Love to pick up or eat there for lunch! I will say seating is tight but worth it! Yummy

Another great Costa Mesa establishment bites the dust. $ 10 for a less then mediocre tuna sandwich and some of the worst potato salad I’ve ever had. I used to eat here all the time. It has always been a little overpriced, but the price reflected the quality. They had the best German rye bread around. So disappointing.

What a find! Great variety of items from Germany. I could have spent more time just looking through everything. Bought the Brats and the German Salami which I must say was excellent! This place will be a regular stop for me! The people were very nice and very knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back!

Not sure when the ownership changed but it needs to change again! I used to come here once a month and never had any issues. I always had good service. Now there there is a rude guy who works behind the counter. Very unprofessional. I will seriously have to find a new deli. But about to give my money to some jerk.

We have been going here for a while and I guess they changed owners. I was not aware. I went in and asked to have some meat sliced for Rouladen, as I have done many times on a Saturday before. The man behind the counter, I believe he is the new owner, says in a really rude voice, you need to order it at least 24 hours in advance. I apologized and said I’ve never had to before and he was just really rude. I would have understood if he politely said, you know, it’s busy and we no longer do that on the weekends without preordering. I work customer service and deal with the public all the time. I little kindness and understanding goes a long way! I’m really disappointed. This was my special place to pick up German treats and things for special German meals. Guess I’m gonna have to find a new place.

I always have to get the liverwurst. Clean, professional and best German deli around. Gets better and better every time I come and highly recommend.

The goulash served on noodles, with red cabbage, is to die for!!! I didn’t get a chance to try any of the other great looking good but I know that I will be back for more. The owner, Chris, is friendly and welcoming. What a great little hidden treasure to stumble across!

Went in for the Bratwurst sandwich, had heard about it, so was in the area and decide to see what all the hoopla was about. So about 3 minutes after ordering out comes my plate of sizzling bratwurst sandwich deconstructed– that is the sausage, which was very hot like it had already been on the grill for a while, but, well rendered, so not too juicy not too dry– a roll that had been buttered, my sauerkraut, and some of the best German deli style mustard available. Also a potato salad that was pretty unremarkable, but good in a comforting kinda way. So you go ahead and assemble and start eating. I liked what I had, but it was not a four or five star experience, definitely a solid three.

Just locked the door on me and my daughter before their store hours said they would be closed. Didn’t even look up at us as she walked away. Go to Old World in HB. Better prices and more fun.

An absolutely wonderful little deli and market, for German delicacies. A large imported beer selection and beautiful German meats. You can get a meal there or buy it to take home and cook yourself. The owners have always been helpful and an overall delight. I truly encourage anyone that would like to try German food or cooking to stop by and partake in what they have to offer.

A really quaint and nice little slice of Germany in Costa Mesa. They’ve got all sorts of cool German grocery food, but man that selection of German beer is top notch. I ended up getting a pretty solid rue been sandwich and the bratwurst was pretty good. If you have an office or work in the Costa Mesa area, I definitely recommend putting this place on you list of lunch spots for sure(especially if you want to sneak in a beer. Hahahah)

The service is excellent. –+Bratwurst: Fried Sausage served with potato salad and home made Sauerkraut and a buttered roll. Fried sausage tasted more like some kind of minced-meat hot dog. It would taste better when you barbecue it. The bread was dry with a layer of butter. Potato salad with celery was tasteless and the sauerkraut was bland. The mustard that goes with the Bratwurst is spicy and tasty. The mustard is the highlight of the whole plate. There were a lot of Dutch products, but the price is twice more than the Holland market at Bellflower. Just like Holland market, a lot of candies and cookies were expired.
