Not much into OC for lack of culture and rawness… SOCO offers what I would normally find in LA or San Francisco though. This SOCO Mall is hipster trendy clean. Ordered an Angus Burger at Green Leaf. It was wonderfully delicious!!! Came with a Kale salad too… Only $ 11. Loved it. My go to spot now.

Green leaf Chopshop puts together fresh and tasty salads that keep your heath in mind. I have made it a point to start eating healthier fare during the work week in order to break up the« Unilocal Curse». In doing so I ran across several reviews for Greenleaf Chopshop by many of my favorite Unilocalers and realized there were polarizing opinions across the board. With that in mind I walked through Greenleaf’s open and airy doors with an open mind. The feel of the restaurant is fun. A welcoming fast casual with really friendly employees and a menu loaded with greens and lean proteins. Imagine if True Food Kitchen and Native Foods had a child out of wedlock; something akin to that. A huge patio area begs you to dine al fresco and fresh Squeezed Lemonade closes that deal in earnest on any warm Costa Mesa day. I decided to start with the Hummus plate which was a wonderful mash up of chickpeas and artichokes with roasted garlic drizzled with olive oil and served with pita chips. Unilocaler beware: you will most certainly battle the dragon(garlic breath) for the remainder of the afternoon that no gum will ever overcome. If you have interviews or a meeting, well… you have been advised. It was delicious though. For the entrée I chose to go with the unfortunately named«Zorra the Great» which is a über fresh mix of romaine, baby arugula, tomatoes, cucumber, ricotta salata, olives, red onion, fresh herbs that is tossed in Joey’s garlic herb vinaigrette; whoever the hell Joey is. The greens all had the farm fresh snap and flavor I yearn for in a quality salad and the vinaigrette gave a nice tangy zip in the flavor profile. I thoroughly enjoyed this salad! Rejoice! They also offer build your own salads along with a laundry list of other options. And to the easy parking and fun atmosphere at SOCO Mart Mix, I was really picking up what Greenleaf Chopshop was putting down. A certain 4 star experience all day, every day.

Love the location at Sobeca all the stores and restaurants are very trendy and clean. Lots of chairs to hang out too. As soon as I walked in, I looked around and everything looked amazing! The menu is large and slightly overwhelming but I went with a summer special of zucchini pomodoro pasta and my friend got the summer peach salad. We grabbed a table under some shade after someone quickly cleared the table for us. My portion of zoodles was a little smaller than I anticipated but it was very yummy! The tomato sauce tasted fresh. The peach salad was also good, especially with the candied pecans, although I thought the combination of the balsamic and cheese was too creamy for me. We also tried flatbread and pesto hummus which was pretty good. Overall decent, wanna come back and try other things on the menu.

Great food and awesome atmosphere! I’m not normally a health nut when it comes to dinner, but this was a nice change. There are so many different options to choose from on the menu, which makes it easier for someone like me to find something that sounds tasty to eat. I ordered the Grilled Vegetable & Goat Cheese Pizza and my better half ordered the Buffalo«Wangs» salad. We were both very happy with our choices. My pizza was pretty tasty and had not one ounce of guilt for eating an entire round pizza by myself. It was a thin crisp whole wheat pizza dough topped off with sauteed veggies, baby spinach, ricotta salata & balsamic reduction. The only thing I would suggest to Greenleaf, is to go a little lighter on the balsamic reduction sauce since it’s really bitter to the taste buds but other than that it was fantastic. My better half spoke highly of her salad, I tried a few bites and liked it myself. The interior décor and atmosphere was awesome. They definitely keep up their organic-style with everything like wooden accents, different types of chairs, tables, salt & pepper shakers, etc. on the inside. When you walk in, you can smell the fresh kitchen aroma and really grasp the green feel. The friendly staff really helps in this department, making you feel welcome. If you don’t know what you want, they are happy to help with suggestions. I scoped out some things I would consider ordering next time. So yes! This means there will be a next time.

I recently start to come to SOCO and the OCMix on weekends to study and Greenleaf is my place to go for lunch when I want something healthy. Everything I have tried here so far is good from salad to build your own entrée. Very fresh, tasty, healthy, decent portion and comparable price. If you are looking for something healthy, light and quality, definitely give this place a try.

I’ve enjoyed their happy hour a few times; the summer sangria are amazing as well as tortilla turkey soup and Turkey sliders; their lemonade is my go-to drink when I’m busy to make my own fresh one. salads is Ok. just don’t add meat since it’s a bit pricey for NOT fresh meats or fish. DONOT bother with their craft sodas since I think it’s definitely NOT worth the $ 3.19 they’re charging. unless you’re until sugared water and flavors… nothing special; I tipped so I wasted $ 3.50; well the ginger beer tasted weird like fake sugars and a bit like mountain dew; I wanted to try them out but it just sucked; I could’ve 2 good bottles of REED’s ginger beer or so; but got a plastic cup of worthless drink. G with the bottled pros. who have been in business for long time; I’ve confirmed now all restaurants fountain drinks are made by amateurs.

My friend and I wanted something healthy so we stopped by this place. I got the Lemongrass Chicken(small) and it was pretty large. I barely finished it, so I’m glad I didn’t order the larger size. The dressing was a big flavorless, though, but tasted healthy. My friend built her own entrée, which was a bit expensive at $ 13 or $ 14 for ahi tuna(she said the ahi was not really fresh), farro, and spinach. For some reason, the Spinach had bits of sand in it, including a small pebble. We ended up returning it(maybe it wasn’t washed thoroughly before cooking?) and exchanging it for green beans, which thankfully had no sand in it. Salads themselves are hearty but I’d probably try a different dressing as I like mine with stronger flavors.

Greenleaf is my go to lunch spot at least once a week. I’m a sucker for their Hollywood Bowl for a quick and easy order(I love beets :)), but sometimes I change it up and make my own salad(love that you can do this.) I used to frequent their HH twice a month and more often if I had a meeting or wanted to meet up with an old friend — but unfortunately the HH menu has been signifcantly reduced option wise, so I go less often.

If you’re looking for quick and light bite, this place is definitely your go to. When I’m tired of eating like a sinner the whole weekend, my boyfriend and I would resort to green leaf to feel better about ourselves. We always opt for the kale Caesar salad with chicken! We replace the dressing with nonna’s vinaigrette? And it’s sooooo delicious ! We also get a sandwich to split, chicken pesto, can never go wrong. As simple and basic as chicken pesto can get. One time I was feeling adventurous, so I mixed it up and got a turkey pretzel sandwich. And omg no. I def eff up! Cause that was crap! Sorry if I hurt the chefs feelings. But DANGGG, can that bread get Any fatter? Can you stack the turkey any higher ?? Lol it was way too much and way too less on flavor ! PASS So yes salads, no no no turkey pretzel. just take that off the menu! Side note, I like the décor of this place, very hipster and environment friendly vibe ! Oh and the workers are always nice, smiley and helpful. So thanks homies!

Super happy that I found this place. Similar to Tender Greens and superior to Urban Plates. Not sure why I’ve seen some reviews complaining about the prices — Tender Greens salads, while delicious, are pretty sparse. I would say about two cups total and range from $ 11-$ 13. Urban Plates salads aren’t even that good in comparison. GreenLeaf large salads are massive, around 4 – 5 cups and cost around $ 9-$ 13. Way better deal if you ask me. I recently tried their mediterranean salad and the salad special and both were amazing. My husband isn’t keen on salads but he actually likes theirs!

I’ve actually have never been inside, but friends and I did order take-out to enjoy nearby. My friend was the one to grab the menu and place the order, so I’ll just have to review based on food alone. For lunch, I ordered up the Truffle Mushroom pizza and sweet potato fries served with an avocado pesto. My goodness, the avo-pesto is glorious. I was a bit bummed that my sauce came with a giant chunk of avo, but I wasn’t that mad because at least I know it was made with fresh avocados. The truffle mushroom pizza topped with arugula was baked atop a tortilla, so it’s real paper thin lol. Not quite the pizza I was looking for, but it was fragrant, flavorful and a good size for a light lunch. Paired with sweet potato fries and it was a decent lunch. Friends enjoyed the tacos and BBQ chicken pizza. If I’m in the area, I’ll have to try dining in.

Greenleaf chop shop has been on my radar for quite a while now and I was excited to finally get to try it with my boyfriend. We came on a weeknight to SoCo and I ordered the steak entrée(market price) with green beans and sweet potato fries as sides and he ordered the ahi tuna(market price) with yam and spinach. Overall thoughts: Steak(3⁄5) — they didn’t even ask me how I wanted my steak cooked and it just tasted okay to me. Green beans(4⁄5) — these were pretty good; probably one of the better sides that we ordered. Sweet potato fries(2⁄5) — these are absolutely horrible compared to the ones at Veggie Grill. These were rough and hard and way to crunchy. Ahi tuna(3⁄5) — it was just alright — nothing special unfortunately. Yam sides(4⁄5) — these and green beans were the best in my opinion. Spinach(3⁄5) — why was it spicy when it wasn’t even specified on the menu that it was spicy? Flavor was alright. Overall I’m not too crazy about this place — maybe hit up Taco Maria or Temakira next time instead. Also we ended up paying close to $ 60 for our meal which tasted more like $ 30 Tender Greens status and portions instead.

It’s healthy. Really healthy. Cage free egg whites, nitrate free bacon, organic veggies, with a Costa Mesa/Newport price tag. I had a cobb salad and my wife had a roasted veggie salad. My cobb was okay. The roasted vegetables in my wife salad were chopped, cold and overpowered by the tart vinegraite. I like the healthy soda fountain.

Ok the Two Stars is for the Gal that took my order very help and sweet. This was a take out order and I was shocked at how bad all of it was. Angus Burger looked like Mc Donald’s Patty way too much Bun, so my husband took of the top off. Very skimpy. We had the Zucchini Pickles on the side. Tasty but to hot. Sweet potatoes were over folded and were like rubber bands. My White Fish was over cooked and dry. The grilled vegetables tasted steamed with no taste. My salad their Kale usually my favorite was just OL looks like they ran out of the cheese that usually is on it, tasteless. So bye bye Green Leaf second try. $ 30 down the drain. :(

Rustic design. Good environment to meet up and chat with friends. Patio heaters are good. Clean and comfortable place. Pleasant staff. Good vegan menu options and large portions. Ask for ceramic dishes. They opt to use disposable, but if you request real glasses and cups, they’re happy to provide them. Prices are moderate. $ 11.99 for full sized antioxidant salad, which was very good and plentiful. Salads without a protein could/should be priced somewhat lower, but I find they typically aren’t and this place was no exception. Full coffee bar inside.

Yum! I’m surprise this place doesn’t have higher reviews. I recently came here with my sister and cousin for a late lunch. We came in on a Sunday at 2pm and there was no line at the register. We all shared the following items and its description: Meatball– These were excellent. The meatballs were all cut in half it make them easier to eat. The meat was tender and flavorful. They were all drenched in a tomato sauce with some mozzarella cheese. It was served with one slice of toasted bread. The sauce tasted very much like tomato soup. It all came out in a hot dish to keep it hot. I enjoyed it and recommend it. Sweet potato fries– These were served with healthy pesto sauce that was probably made form avocado. The fries were very sweet and fried perfectly. The dipping sauce was also very good. I recommend if you are a fan of sweet potato fries. Breakfast Pizza– This was excellent. The pizza was large enough to share with all three of us with some leftovers. It contained arugula, meat, feta cheese, tomatoes, and one fried egg. I loved the feta cheese on it. The bread was also good. It was more like a flat bread pizza. Salad– We built our own and I though it was okay. It contained arugula, tomatoes, feta cheese, quinoa, meat, and cherry tomatoes. It was served with a green dressing that we got on the side. I didn’t think it was that special but my sister loved it. Our total was about $ 10 per person. I thought pricing here is very reasonable. You order at the counter and receive a number. They bring the food out to you. The guy at the counter was very nice and helpful. The food took awhile to come out but it was worth the wait. There is inside sitting and outdoor as well. Other items on their menu include sandwiches, paninis, salads, pizzas, burritos, soups, and some meats(steak, chicken, & salmon). Overall, I thought this place was great for lunch. I would like to come back and try their other items. It’s located at the OC mix

Amazing healthy fast-casual restaurant! I think it’s the best bang for your buck at the OC mix. They specialize in salads but they also have sandwiches and paninis. I tend to order the BYO(build your own) plate complete with your choice of protein and two signature sides. I usually go for the seared ahi, hubby goes for the steak and they are both delish! As for the sides, the quinoa pomegranate salad is a must and the sautéed spinach is always a safe, healthy bet. The grilled veggies are good as well. Prices are comparable for the surrounding locations, a little pricey. We paid $ 17 for our meals which is a fair price for a nice dinner but I think a little pricey for an ‘order at the counter’ kinda place. But the food quality makes up for the extra cash :-)
