Bomb sushi! One of the best I’ve had in town. My favorite rolls are sunset and monster. We order there at least once a week and the people working there are especially nice, always offering quick service

WARNING! Do not eat here! This place is the most unsatisfactory, dirty place I’ve eaten at. Grease everywhere! All over the hood vents and fryer, and probably enough MSG to kill a whale! I saw two ear wig bugs(pincher bug) on the floor by my feet and stopped eating, then payed and left as fast as I could.

Great food and great service at an affordable price. We took advantage of the buy one drink and get one free deal.

Go if you are looking for a good lunch sushi spot. Don’t go if you are looking for authentic Japanese food. It’s a cute little place. Didn’t impress me because of the quality of the food. Quantity was good for the price. But it was not fresh sashimi and like other Unilocalers were saying, the rolls often fall apart. Most of the rolls had similar ingredients but placed differently. Not seeing creativity in the rolls on the menu. And off a star because they charge $ 2 for hot tea.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is small and has an intimate feel to it. The staff was attentive and friendly. I would definitely recomendation this restaurant.

Oh my gosh this place was awesome! I don’t even like sushi but my boyfriend does so I took him here the other night and it was awesome. I also never give out 5 stars so that pretty incredible. I actually tried some sushi and somewhat liked it. There prices are really good too. We got a huge plate with two different types of rolls and then an alternative which was beef teriyaki. It’s there special and it was only like twenty bucks! We also tried sake and got a pitcher of beer, which was huge by the way and the whole meal cost like $ 44 bucks. They give you free edamame. The place is super small but it is really a hidden gem if you love sushi. I am taking all my sushi loving friends here!

tried for the first time today after wanting to try this place for months but always coming upon it on a sunday when it’s closed hah. We tried the two rolls for $ 17.95 which were the spicy tuna roll and the monster roll. The bf liked the spicy tuna a lot, as for me I’m just not a spicy tuna fan. But the monster roll which is like a california roll with artificial crab meat, shrimp tempura on the inside an a fried bit of salmon on top, just hit the spot. We also ordered the chicken karage, a huge portion for the price but just not that good sadly :(… I would recommend getting their roll specials and maybe trying a different app. Glad I got to try it and pleasantly surprised it’s ran by korean family

Our favorite local sushi spot! Really small lace and always packed. They have a $ 21 deal for three specialty sushis. You pretty much can’t beat it, and what’s best is that their sushi is truly the best tasting. Try the fried philly.

My husband and I used to go to AYCE sushi places like Sake 2 me, Joe’s sushi, and Monster sushi. Well, 3 specialty rolls for $ 25 definitely well worth our money and it does make us full, too.

I really want to like this place, but I just can’t. If you think about it long enough, you realize that with what little fish you actually get in sushi, you’re not just paying for the food, you’re also paying for the art of making the sushi itself. In that regard, Jack’s fails miserably. My girl and I both ate here one evening, and for all of our orders, the sushi fell apart(I took a picture but Unilocal isn’t giving me the option to attach it for some reason). When that happens, it means either 1) the quality of the ingredients is poor, or 2) the sushi chef’s skills aren’t good. If it was the itamae whose skills were lacking, that’s unfortunate, as it was the older gentleman who prepared our sushi. You would expect him to know better(or, at least, others would have complained to him by now). The sushi itself was fine. For me, sushi is either normal tasting(like most other sushi places) or bad(unfresh fish, etc.). The sushi here, I thought, was normal. My girl, on the other hand, thought hers tasted weird. So unfortunate that this place didn’t work out — We’re forever in search of an alternative to Sushi Town — still the best sushi we’ve eaten in Costa Mesa but often too busy and super slow food preparation. Jack’s just doesn’t cut it

Been here twice now, and love their 3 roll special for $ 21 or $ 22. Went with the girlfriend this Monday, got the Jalapeño Bomb, Newport Roll, Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll, and Asparagus Snow Roll. Jalapeño Bomb — Amazing. Fried up jalapeño, spicy tuna, and cream cheese. It tastes so good you’ll demolish it, then feel like a horrible person once you realize how much fried stuff and cream cheese you just ate. And then your rolls come and you feel ravenous again. What a deal! Newport Roll — California roll with seared tuna on the outside finished with garlic ponzu sauce. Sublime. My favorite roll I’ve had in quite some time regardless of location. The sauce makes it, it’s done really well. Asparagus Snow Roll — So-so. My girlfriend liked it, but it was a bit odd for my tastes. Then again, it has baked salmon and I prefer my fish raw. Plus I’ve never had asparagus in a roll. Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll — The roll was decent, but the little salad in the middle of the roll was amazing. Weird how that works out. I would have licked the plate like a mutt if I wasn’t in public. I’m definitely getting the Jalapeño Bomb and Newport Roll again, but passing on the others because there were so many more good looking options. Service was great, no complaints, and there was barely anyone there on a Monday night at 8pm.

Meh. I’ve had this place bookmarked for a while and I can’t remember why. There was nothing special about the sushi here. Yes, the rolls are larger than average but I did not leave feeling satisfied. Everything tasted just okay. Our beers had a weird smell to them… Maybe it was the glasses? I don’t know if it was because we had heard about a friend getting food poisoning from here or what but my boyfriend didn’t feel so great after our meal. Just, meh.

I LOVE this place! I come here often and I have a severe shellfish allergy so I always have to go through my shpeel about how I can’t breathe if they don’t wipe the utensils before they make my plate. The servers and the chef remember me and my usual order. I walk in and they bring me my tea and their complimentary edamame right away. It is such a nice welcome place and their tuna is always fresh.
