I love this place and I am so sad everyone is hating on them. The people there are really nice. I think they are just under staffed but their furniture is amazing and lasts a really long time.

Stay far, far away from Modshop. I posted a negative comment on Twitter about how it took them 4 days to respond to an inquiry i had about a piece I wanted to buy. The owner then writes an e-​mail to me, threatening to SUE me for tweeting about the poor customer service. There was nothing about my tweet that was false or unnecessarily harsh. In fact I will post it here for all to see:
@modshop1 great designs, awful customer service. Took 4 days to hear back. After much back and forth, sales rep tells me it’s not available.
This tweet about my experience could have been much much worse. Any respectable company would not have reacted to this by threatening to sue a customer. The fact that the owner would personally email me to threaten me for posting a legitimate comment about what happened says a lot about the management of this company. This is a company that does not care about customers or customer service — and there are too many better options out there to be okay with this.
Also — I just checked its Unilocal star rating across all of their stores. 1.5 stars in NYC, 1.5 stars in Miami, and an average of 2.6 across its 3 stores around LA. That says a lot. The beauty of Unilocal is that it doesn’t lie — you get a collective view of many customers’ experience here.
Modshop — if you are reading this, I’d be happy to suggest a number of ways you could have easily avoided this situation. For one — if you promise on your website to respond within 24 hours, DO NOT take 4 days. Secondly, if a customer is unhappy, make it up to them. And if someone is not happy with an experience, you do not threaten to sue them for expressing their feelings on social media. Given your average Unilocal rating across all of your stores, I’d suggest you take this advice beyond just this particular interaction.

Love their selection of modern décor and furniture. If you are looking for something that isn’t in store or a different color than the displays, be prepared to wait 10+ weeks for it. Don’t quite love the prices.

Just got the Lola custom sofa. Great piece of furniture so i’ll overlook the 20 mins late on delivery :)

It’s in SoCo, shopping center mainly houses furniture/​décor stores.
This place is a new addition to this area. It’s right by «Robert Wesley». Easy parking. Park right by «DWR» (Design Within Reach) and walk.
I like their contemporary and playful design and colors. You can find cool pieces with various colors and bold & funky design. Modern art deco — very hip and cool. They are organized by colors, which is kinda cool.

If you liked modern and contemporary designs, yet more interesting and punchy shapes and colors than simple and sleek minimalism Italian design for accents, you’ll love this place. I like this shop.

We purchased the marble oval tulip table from Modshop about 2 months ago and it looks amazing in our cabana. We ended up buying the floor model which I was hesitant at first but we ended up getting an additional 10% off the price. Tonya was very helpful and I would definitely go back.

The painting I purchased from ModShop has been the greatest addition to my bedroom. Two of the staff members I’ve dealt with over there have been absolutely pleasant and helpful. I look forward to finding what else I can purchase for my home from ModShop, it’s a fun experience.

We purchased the x leg white lacquer dining table with goldfinger chairs for our dining room. Upon delivery the set looked fabulous in our dining room, very sleek and modern.
We had a small issue with our dining table, which Modshop picked up and repaired. They also suggested we get a protective glass top for our table, which I was hesitant to do with two young boys in our house, but decided it was best to do to keep the table in good condition. I was worried the glass edge may be sharp, or could easily slip of the table, but it was neither. The glass top is affixed to the table, and the edges are beveled, the table looks better with the glass than without it! I would highly recommend the glass top if you are considering purchasing one of their dining tables, it has a very high-​end look to it.
We are very pleased with the customer service at Modshop and Modshops responsiveness to repairing the small issue with our table.
If you’re looking for quality modern furniture I would highly recommend ModShop.

I felt compelled to write this review because of the compliments I keep receiving from old and new friends.
I walked into Modshop a couple weeks ago because I needed a couch and didn’t trust one of those «going out of business sale» places that never seem to go out of business. I was surprised at the selection and saw this sectional that reminded me of my recent visit to the Hard Rock hotel in Vegas. This was good and bad news because my place desperately needed a makeover, but my main goal was only to get a couch… If you hadn’t guessed, I walked out with more than just a couch…
I ended up purchasing a granite velvet sectional and some funky cool side tables and lamps. I’m not gonna lie… some of the staff did help me match my side tables to my Hard Rock hotel inspired look. The quality is a heck of a lot better than the Ikea it replaced and wayyyyy better looking.
I should give it 4 stars because of all the work its given me. because honestly, I didn’t plan on remodeling my place when I walked in the store, but I cant say i’m not reaping any benefits of having a more «adult» looking place.
I plan to go back next month and grab a few more things on my list, starting with a coffee table and some more accent pieces.
