Full of Vibe! I was sweating finding my babe a cool Valentine’s gift last week, and I wan’t looking for the regular cliché of a gift so my prayers were answered when I came across Pink and Olive! They saved my Ass! When I first walked in it had a cool hip vibe withe cool style to match. I looked around and saw a few things of interest, but as a guy I wasn’t sure what to pick, but sure enough I got plenty of help. The staff was helpful, and cool at the same time. I picked some vintage bracelets that I thought were cool. I also found some really interesting candles that I wans’t sure about, but my babe was totally stoked when she opened the gift. In fact she went nuts about everything that the staff picked for me. They made me a hero in no time. The rest of my evening went great as well, but Pink and Olive got me off to a great start. Since then My girl has been back there to do some shopping and she is real happy with what’s going one there, and the price point is a real value as well! Well done Pink and Olive!

I have been curiously awaiting for Pink & Olive to open. Hence I see this place everyday. Pink & Olive is conveniently located near my work. In fact just a walk across the street. So, recently when I saw that they were open I popped in while I had a break. The place itself is dare I say the word CUTE. The warm pink and olive green walls are a quarky color combination yet somehow are pulled off nicely. In fact the first thing that popped in my mind when I walked in here was the Catherine Deneuve film«The Umbrellas of Cherbourg» I have to disagree with a review that deems that the inventory is like a lame«estate sale». It is by far a cluttered mess in here like many estate sales are. Things are neatly organized. Sure, they have many vintage items that are in here which would commonly be seen at an estate sale. But, that is what the owners are going for a boutique like selection of items that have been hand selected thus giving it that originality feel to it. Picture entering a world of kitschy tsotskis. It sets itself apart from the run of the mill want to be antique-y or vintage boutique. Not only do they have a vintage selection they also have vintage inspired items here as well. Things like earrings, necklaces, bracelets basically jewelry. That was the first things I noticed in here. As well as Bakelite and it was not«Fake-lite». I tested it when I was in here and it definitely had that formaldehyde wonderful smell that authentic Bakelite emits when rubbed vigorously. Now one of my favorite pieces was the handmade bracelet taken from brouches. Something that one would find sold on The price was a little pricey($ 85) but the owner told me that she has been buying pieces from the seller ever since she had her first business and continues to buy from her. However overall prices are fair and I told the owner that she is reasonably priced for being a boutique. She(forgot her name) told me that both she and her partner wanted prices to be reasonable especially with the current state of our economy. Thus an extra star for not trying to take people to the bank. I concur that the prices are fair in here. Other than that seller that she buys from. Other things that I liked in here was the felt made hair barrettes and head bands and wallets. Also another things that you would find at a craft show or on Etsy. The handmade bags are rad. They even have some cute selection of kids items as well. Now, don’t think that this place only sells vintage and handmade nic nacs. They also have house-ware items as well. The piece that I wanted was the enormous yellow with splashes of green painting that sits just to the left of the front door when you enter. Sadly however it is not for sale. Pink & Olive is yet another gem on East 17th St. and is worth stopping by. In fact it is the only«vintage» like boutique that I have come across in this area. After a stop here I would also suggest stopping by Paris To The Moon just a block away. Note: It’s near Pierce Street Annex bar and next door to that is a temporary tax set up place«Liberty Taxes» Just look for the poor miserable man/woman dressed up in an eye soar of a costume«Statue of Liberty». Parking to Pink & Olive is in the rear.

I LOVED this store. Bought so many Christmas gifts there and a few things for myself. I’ll go back for more. Great vibe, great music to shop by, great people working there. It’s hip and fun and I love the inventory… funky flashback vintage-y items and a great mix of new stuff too.
