The family and I were on vacation, and this place was close to us so we tried it out. The food was good, the desert was amazing.

I come here often with a special needs individual I work with. We are not the easiest of customers, but they are always so great here. Everyone is so friendly and the service is usually very prompt. Great place to bring kids, there is usually a gentleman going around to tables making balloon animals!

This is probably one of the best restaurant, service wise. Waiters were friendly and kind. The food was cheap but proved its price and the lemonade was a bit too sweet. Our server is cute. Hmu

I grew up going to Ruby’s Diners as a kid so I might have a bias. Came to this location at lunch in between shopping and more shopping. Quickly greeted by a hostess and sat down at a booth. I’d call this your 50’s revival diner but updated for the modern times. The Super Burger I ordered was just like I remembered. Crispy sourdough bread on top of ½ lb burger patty with melted cheese, avocado, mayo, and lettuce/tomato. Unlimited fries too, although I was too full to get more. Burger cooked just the way I like it and didn’t take forever. The shakes here are . Pretty sure they use real ice cream. If you have a small stomach like me, opt for ordering a kid’s sized shake. Small but more than enough to enjoy. Great service, clean restaurant. 10% off with a Unilocal check-in!

It was actually really good! I love burgers and this one was just perfect. They put a good amount of cheese on it too so I could actually taste it! Endless fries which are a lot better than RedRobin, and the service was excellent. Will likely return, about $ 10 for a meal that will fill you up.

Since South Coast Plaza is filled with pricier-than-average food, my friends and I decided to eat at Ruby’s since it’s one of the«cheaper» options. I never ate at this location before despite coming to this mall all the time so it was a new experience for me. It was a normal, not-so-busy Friday afternoon when we decided to stop by. We were escorted to our dining table within 5 minutes. I ordered fish and chips while my friends ordered a burger to share. Food came out about 10 to 15 minutes later. Just like any other fish and chips dishes, there were four pieces of fried fish and a plate full of french fries and cole slaw with tartar sauce for dip. It was average-ly good. I would come back time to time if I’m craving any food here, but other than that, it was a fine experience.

We were craving hamburgers and fries so we headed to Ruby’s Diner at the South Coast Plaza location. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles and seated promptly. Our waiter, Oscar(also known as Señor Guapo), was the friendliest and best waiter ever! We never had to ask for refills because he would automatically get them for us as soon as our drinks were almost empty. He also checked on us a few times to make sure we were doing good. They should definitely make him employee of the month because he made it such a pleasant dining experience for us! We were extremely pleased with the generous portions of our garlic and Cajun fries! Our burgers were also ginormous and as big as our faces! We will definitely come back for more epic burgers, fries, and shakes!

Check in on Unilocal and receive 10% off your bill. I got the Hickory Burger(amazing and gigantic) with Cajun Fries and an Oreo & Coffee shake(you can ask for flavors to be mixed) to share between two people. Our bill came out to about $ 20 and we were stuffed. I came a couple of days before Christmas so the hectic shoppers were all waiting in line to dine here and the restaurant was packed and filthy. It didn’t take too long for us to be seated, but the table was sticky when we arrived and the spacing is very cramped. I felt like I was eating with the people next to us. The floors were sticky in some areas and wet in others. I wasn’t sure if I would slip and fall or stick and trip. I do like the food and service here. Everyone was very friendly and attentive considering how busy it was. Most of the workers are very young, but do an excellent job. I probably wouldn’t come back to this location, but would love to try others.

My wife and I took a break after a few visits of what we believed was declining service. We used to visit at least once if not twice a week. Today, we thought we would give it another shot. What started as promising soon grounded. After the Manager stopped by and chatted a bit about college football I had hoped that we’d have a great visit. Regrettably, I had to refill our coffee cups after they sat near the table ledge with the hostess and others oblivious. When our Pumpkin Pancakes came out they were not platted as described. When we pointed it out to the waitress she at first didn’t believe us and referred to the menu. On a positive note she acknowledged the mistake and took it off the bill. Not sure when or if we’ll be back.

Balloons and burgers. No they don’t just only have burgers they also got fish and chips which is super tasty. The host Belen helped me to my table and she was ecstatic! Told me the best item on the menu was the super bird. Looks tasty also. Prices are decent but what can I say? Service is awesome from my server named Yuki and there’s a balloon guy here he’s super awesome and creative! If you come here make sure you bring one dollar bills! I really don’t know how they get 3.5 stars here when service is so top notch.

I have never been to a Ruby ‘s before so I honestly didn’t know what to expect. At first I thought it was strange that there were heads on the walls, but I guess that matches the theme of the restaurant. I was immediately greeted & seated by the people in front. Our waitress, Kate, was the sweetest girl ever. She was so nice and helpful with the menu. I got the Rubymelt and my boyfriend got the bacon cheeseburger. The rubymelt was eh. There wasn’t any vegetables in the thing! It was a slice of pickle on the side with lettuce, so i stuck the lettuce in one of the melts and it made it better but the other one wasn’t as good. The bacon cheeseburger was SO good! I wish I got that instead. The fries were really good, get on that bottomless fries deal! The food and stuff was a 4, but the service was awesome! The manager, I believe his name was Andrew, so nice! Everyone was so accomdating and nice, I would definitely come back!

Now through September 30, 2015, Ruby’s Diner has a new shake called the Muddy Gummy Goody Shake. For those you who remember«Cup of Dirt» from the 1990s, this will be a blast from the past for you and something new for the kids to get them ready for the Halloween season. It starts with chocolate ice cream blended with crushed Oreos and is then topped with whipped cream and gummy worms. It is nice and creamy with crunchy Oreo bits inside for texture. The gummy worms are sweet and chewy. If you don’t want to eat them, the kids will certainly will. Rating: 4/5.5 Irish Nachos are fried RubySpuds smothered with melted cheddar and jack cheeses, crispy corned beef hash, crumbled thick-cut bacon, sour cream, and green onions. It is the perfect salty, savory flavor balance to compliment the shake. The cheese is gooey. The corned beef hash is a good meaty component. The bacon adds a smoky, salty flavor. The sour cream and green onions add a refreshingly cooling flavor to the mix. Rating: 5⁄5

Quick service, same food as all the Ruby’s Diners. No complaints. Great place to take the kids in the mall.

Me and the hubby got gift certificates from work, and it just so happened my friend Sherri C. also did too so we decided to come here on a Friday night for dinner. I’m not sure if it’s because of the holiday season or not, but Ruby’s was packed! There was a wait as we were a larger party of 7. Once we were seated we all ordered burgers and fries and beer to wash it all down. First ding was that they were out of two of the beers that we tried to order. I got the regular cheeseburger, it was $ 9 so I was expecting a nice heafty juicy burger. What I got was kind of a dinky patty, the bun overwhelmed the meat patty. I guess I could have splurged for the larger $ 12 burger, but for that money you can go to a nicer burger place like the Counter or Umami. I got the sweet potato fries to go with my meal and those were good. One of my friends got the garlic fries and it looked so soggy with oil I didn’t even want to try it. Another friend got the onion rings, but sadly we found out even after paying the upcharge for the fries and onion rings only the fries were for refill. Overall service is good and friendly, but for a diner this is not a good value for your money. We spend $ 50 for two people here, if I didn’t have the gift certificate I would have been very upset that I spent that much money on mediocre food.

This Ruby’s Diner seems like they did some remodling because it doesn’t have that classic diner feel. The exterior and the interior looked like wood panels. I got a nothing fancy, nothing spectagular, nothing special all american burger with no cheese and sweet potatoe fries. Yes nothing special but I just wanted something in my stomach before my long drive home back to Torrance. On the plus side is that thank god I brought my Ipod Touch with me so I can take the advantage of a Unilocal Check In that gives you a 10% discount… Nice.

Ruby’s Diner is located in the Macy’s Home side of SCP. It’s in the middle next to the escalators on the 1st floor. Ruby’s is best known for their burgers and since everyone knows I love burgers my wife and I were starving and wanted something so we went to Ruby’s. DECOR: Vintage looking. Cute like pink outfits on the waitress and has that 50’s feel to it. FOOD: Pretty good nothing special. It’s fresh but the burger patty are a bit skimpy. Tastes totally fine but i’m just saying for the money. I ordered the Super Burger which is on Sourdough bread with Parmesan cheese on top toasted with the usual lettuce, tomato, onion. It was great but the patty was just thin and weak. My wife order some veggie burger she said it was good as well. UnilocalCHECKINBONUS: Receive 10% off on your order. FORKIDS: They hire a guy that does balloon animals and cool things for the kids. SERVICE: Here is a great tip for getting your food quick at Ruby’s. Get a menu when your waiting in line and then decide what you want so when the gal comes over to get you drinks just order right then and there that way your food comes out quick. If you don’t do that and you just order your drink it takes forever to get the girl to come back to take your order. OVERALL: Good food, 10% Discount, Fast Service with my technic. Love it.

I’ve been here a few times and the last time I went here I was disappointed. I went with another person after shopping and got the following items on the menu: Irish Nachos– It was not what I was expecting. It was thicker slices of potatoes that were deep fried topped with cheese, a bunch of bacon, and some sour cream. It was gross. The potatoes ‘chips’ were soggy and extra greasy. This was definitely not finger food. It was a bowl of oil. Fried Zucchini– I didn’t see a difference between this and any fast food fried zucchini. It was nothing special. Fish Tacos– This was two deep battered fish deep fried served with guacamole and sour cream. The two fish tacos were huge. They were okay. Cranberry, Apple, Walnut salad– This was my dish. This salad consisted of cranberries, apple, walnuts, raisin, blue cheese, and grilled chicken. This was also okay. It had way more cranberries and raisins than I cared for. Our mediocre meal was about $ 40. We had a gift card so we just tipped. If we didn’t have the gift card I don’t think this would be my go to place to eat. As for service, it was good. The girl waiting on us probably checked on us more times then was necessary but whatever. I like the Ruby’s at HB pier but this one really doesn’t do it for me.
