Sassoon Salon

This review is for Kristopher who had the job of fixing a very bad haircut that I had one week prior at an Aveda Salon in Oakland. Kristopher was on a temporary assignment at the San Francisco salon. All I can say is that he is an amazing stylist and I wish I could give him 100 stars. Next time I go to Orange County I will make a beeline for him.

I feel compelled to sing the praises of Kristopher. I have extremely heavy hair with waves that aren’t so easy to work with. It’s certainly not the type of hair you can envision being reshaped into a precise short bob, but that’s what I walked out with after what will probably be his longest appointment of the day. He was so patient and optimistic, and his focus had everything to do with how many compliments I received in the last few hours. Thank you!

They paid special attention to detail and took some pain in the arse copper that I swore would NOT leave, out, and left me with a fun and flirty updated look.

Haircut is fine. It’s average. Color specialists are awful. Sweet people but not enough specialists. They still can’t get my hair color right even after almost a year. Get color done elsewhere. Customer service is slim.

Matt and Adriana are an incredible duo! They are both true artists and professionals in their craft. Adriana brings life back into anyone’s hair and Matt’s precision with cuts is architectural. When you leave you feel ready to film a hair commercial!!!

Matt is so detailed in his work I am always in love with my cut! I have a short, edgy pixie cut & thanks to Matt it looks exactly how I want it to. Compliments on it are an every day thing now! Matt you are my go to! Thank you for your time & expertise!

Edward is highly talented and knows his artistry! As a traveling Healthcare IT Consultant, I need an excellent cut that caters to my wavy hair and is low maintenance. After the last three years of haircuts ranging from bad to nightmarish, I had allowed the last cut to grow out for eight months, came to Edward, and he listened to what I wanted. First time in years I walked out with a superior cut, which I might add, he also kindly taught me how to easily maintain.

Madeline is the bomb!
She has cut my hair twice, and I have been getting so many compliments! Her cuts are easy and wearable. They grow in well, and can be styled to look casual, sophisticated, or even a little punk, if you want to.
Madeline is personable, light-​hearted, and pays attention to what you ask for in your cut.

Kathryn Burkert, she is incredible colorist, she did magic with my hair color, I had highlights else where that hated the color my hair got so dry, I asked her for rich brown that usually is hard to cover the highlights when is used high volume of bleach she colored it so beautiful came out shiny and soft, she is an artist in highlights and colors, with a pleasant nice attitude, very knowledgeable and expert, so glad I found her thank you Kathryn… Rita

I was recently traveling to the LA area and took some time out of my trip to visit this salon. My colleague had recommended I get my hair cut by Edward. So happy I did! Edward is one of the coolest guys on the planet and an amazing stylist. I like to keep my hair long and he was a pro at reshaping it without losing too much length. Omg! I recently got my hair colored by Kathryn and I love love love it!!! from beginning to end my experience was warm welcoming and very professional. I almost fell asleep when I got my hair shampooed and Kathryn was able to understand the type of color I wanted without damaging or giving me something I didn’t want. I have been going to Sassoon Salon for seven years, ever since we moved to OC from San Francisco. Adriana is probably the best colorist in California. I have chestnut brown hair that is unfortunately getting more gray by the day. She knows that my #1 concern is to not let the color get inky and dark, which is typically happens to hair when it must be colored ever six weeks. She is so good that my hair looks as natural as the day that I was 22. My stylist, Kris, is also fantastic. Really love the team there.

I’ve been going here for not quite a year now and I haven’t run into the problem that normally occurs for me at other salons. Usually at this point I’m confronted with something like expectations from my stylist. Where they think that whatever they give me will do because I’m a regular? This is not that salon and these are not those stylists! I. Love. This. Place. It was love at first consultation– with Adrianna, BTW — she listened! And she still listens. And creates just the color I want. Matt listens, consults, and works magic with those scissors. The attention to detail from the entire staff will have you resting on a cloud all afternoon. Every time.

My hair and head shape are not the easiest to work with yet Christopher did a lovely job. I can easily persuade 5 different looks out of this story cut! Thanks Christopher, beautifully executed!

I’ve been on the long road searching hairstylist since I moved to LA from Moscow. I’ve been up and down…
I picked Vidal Sassoon in South Coast Plaza because every time I am in the mall I have coffee and poppy seed muffin @Vive de France next door and love everyone who comes out of Sassoon.
So, once I walked in and met Christopher. It was my lucky day!
I grew tired of my long hair, they became almost unmanageable. So, I asked for significant length cut and something «edgy» and after Chris started to work on me, I felt totally relaxed. His technique is so cool, he cuts layers almost like he is cutting fabrics.
I’ve left with the best bangs I’ve ever had, my thin hair looks thicker and dries into great shape without blow dry!
It was in February and since then I returned to Chris 2 more times and every time left with a perfect cut!
He is super-​talanted, I recommend him if you want something not very basic and more avante-​guard.
Regarding price. I don’t think that it’s really expensive place — my cut is $ 110 and wirth every penny. I’d pay more for that!

Madeline is amazing. She is an artist and I love how particular she is about making my cut perfect. My boyfriend’s mom and sister love her and introduced me to her. I won’t go to anyone else now but Madeline.

I came in on a whim to chop off 12″ of my hair. I sat down in Matt’s chair, told him I wanted a pixie cut, and never looked back. His haircuts have changed my life and I get non-​stop compliments on my hair.
It is true what they say about him, he is a hair ARTIST. I wouldn’t trust my hair with anyone else. His experience lends greatly to his artistry; he is the expert and will give you the haircut right for you. He’s honest, detailed and precise. He’s not one for mindless salon banter; Matt is focused, witty, and straight to the point.
If you are looking for an exceptional cut that is sure to get noticed-​go to Matt. His wife Adriana, colors my hair. She is a pro at what she does. She has gotten my «red» right every time!
They are an incredible duo. The one point I’d like to make is that these people are the experts. I let them decide for me what will be the best look. Let them work their magic. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
