I wish my phone wouldn’t have died the night I was there so I could share pictures but I had all 3 taco flavors! They were sooo good! I loved the mushroom taco especially! No soy, gluten free, and vegan. Totally met my standards!

The staff here is always amazingly friendly. The food is fresh and the vibe is lively and not super load. We came here for breakfast and wasn’t feeling like having sweets. I was pleased to find they have quite the savory menu. We ordered the«Porque Maria» which has A smoked sliced tofu, cashew«gruyère» cheese, rocket arugula, on toasted sourdough, served with fruit. This sandwich is amazing! The cashew cheese is divine. We also ordered the«green eggs and toast» which is a tofu scramble with pistou and sautéed spinach, whole wheat ciabatta toast with smashed avocado, house-made lemon salt and charred broccolini. served with fried potatoes. Broccolini is the highlight. Do yourself a favour vegan or not and check it out. The lunch menu and dinner menu will satisfy even the carnivore amongst you.

This is truly a gem in OC. I love this place. Meat eaters and non-meat eaters will leave this restaurant satisfied without feeling overly full or sick. The food is fresh, light, and full of flavor. Here are some things I recommend because they are out of this world: –beer battered avocado tacos –jack fruit asada tacos –mushroom tacos –brussels sprouts(they put dijon on them :)) –jack fruit sliders –grilled cheese There is also a dessert that is like a churro waffle and it is really good. The prices are reasonable and the food is amazing!

VERYYUMMY vegan spot at the lab! all the dishes are very flavorful but also on the saltier side for those who don’t mind a bit o salt You definitely don’t need to be vegan to enjoy their food —fried avocado taco: I love fried avocado tacos and they aren’t very common so this one really hit the spot! —fries: done nicely —Brussels sprouts: YASSS crisp, charred, packed with flavor! —jackfruit sliders: this was my least favorite dish, I’d skip it next time NOTE: There’s patio seating too if you want to enjoy the outside weather

BBQ Jackfruit Sliders($ 8) from the small plate section of the menu — The fruity taste isn’t prevalent. The shredded jackfruit is smothered in a tasty sauce and the shredded cabbage on top reminds me of coleslaw. They were a decent size and would consider it a light lunch if you only get the slider. Beer Battered Avo Taco($ 4 per taco) — Looking at the review and having tasted it myself, this is probably a widely popular item. On top of a large slice of avocado, there are heaps of cabbage to give that nice crunch so it’s not all mushy texture. Natural Cut Fries — There wasn’t anything so special about this for me. It was your normal fries with their seasoning on top. They have an outside patio area with umbrella to give a change of atmosphere for those who are stuck inside their office all day.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Everything is vegan. Even compared to non-vegan food, this place makes some of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had! I’ve tried a lot of things on the menu but the things I usually stick to(and it’s hard to stray from them because they’re so good!) are the fried avocado taco, the holy smokes bowl(BBQ jackfruit, veggies and rice) and the purple potato taquitos! They have a special brunch menu on Sundays, indoor and outdoor seating(outdoor is better, too loud and cramped inside) and dessert pastries like their vegan pop tarts which are really good. They also have kombucha mimosas which are quite tasty~

First time trying vegan food! I got the Jack Asada Taco and the Beer Battered Avo Taco. The jack asada I was most intrigued with because they are trying to replicate beef with a fruit. I’ve read other places that people are trying to promote jackfruit as a pork alternative. Knowing what jackfruit actually tastes like, I was in for a surprise when I ate the taco. It was very well cooked in a way that I had no idea it was jackfruit. I wouldn’t say that it tasted like meat, but it was pretty close. The beer battered avo taco was probably trying to imitate fish tacos, but while it didn’t taste much like a fish taco, it was still good. My friend got the purple taquitos and the natural cut fries. The fries were really good, and I enjoyed the sauces. The ketchup was pleasant, although it tasted different than regular ketchup. Probably cause it’s less processed and they make it themselves. The Seabirds sauce was also really good, I put it on my tacos. The place was small and home-y, as expected from being in the Hipster Lab. The service was really good, but I wish they came around a little more towards the end of the meal so that we could get our check a bit more quickly. I would come back if someone invited me to go, but I wouldn’t suggest it. While very tasty, I feel like it was a bit pricey for the amount of food I got. I found myself hungry a couple hours later. The vegan life is not for me!

Nothing beats a delicious, lean and green brunch on a Sunday fun day! I was definitely impressed by the dishes here and how flavorful and balanced everything was. Order: Green eggs & toast, Brussel sprouts, butternut squash enchiladas, avocado taco, and the birdy mary! Faves(hard to choose but.) — avocado toast and the side arugula salad that came with the enchiladas(lol and the enchiladas too). The toast was savory with a bit of heat, so a nice surprise from the usual avocado toast! Enchiladas were also packed with some heat, but it was really filling! The biggest surprise was the arugula side salad with strawberries and avocado. I could eat a whole bowl of that and be one happy camper! Birdy Mary was solid, Brussel sprouts done just right with the lime drizzle, and avocado taco nicely battered. I can’t wait to come back to try more :))

I came here, a party of 3, on a Saturday for brunch. It was 10:30AM and parking was plentiful at The Lab. There were other diners, but we were able to get seated right away. We ordered some natural cut fries, green eggs & toast, Jack’s BBQ sliders, and a beer battered avo taco. The fries are thin and crispy, which I love. Everything else was very subtle in flavor, not too saucy. My cousin enjoyed the green eggs & toast. The sliders and avo taco were very light in sauce. The avo taco lacked in flavor, but the light crispy texture was good. The bbq sliders were filled with slaw and also felt light. We finished off our meal with the chaffle, which was delicious! It was crispy and fluffy at the same time, making it easy to cut with a fork. The vanilla ice cream tasted like coconut, so I’m not sure if it was made with coconut juice instead of milk. Even though we were full, we finished the chaffle, so I highly recommend that! It was good to share becaused it is a very sugary and sweet dessert. I agree with some other reviewers that said it may not be a good place for children. My niece was with us and although they have a kids menu, it wasn’t anything she would eat. It included grilled cheese, bean & cheese burrito, and 2 – 3 other items. She enjoyed the fries though. Overall, this is a good place for vegan food. Everything tasted light, except the dessert. I would love to come back to try other items on the menu.

My sister and I came here for dinner for the first time; it’s too bad the service was so bad that we won’t be back. Everyone who are non Asian were treated with good service and left us like a middle child who gets ignore, and watching from the sidelines(we sat between two tables who received service — we were the only Asians there). The food was good. It is for vegans and non vegans alike. We ordered the purple taquitos, half order of the bloomsdale salad, old town grilled cheese, and the enoki rueben. The ingredients are fresh and tasteful. I really wish the service was good too but failed immensely.

Normally I’m a bit hesitant to go for vegan food(love my meat!) but my friend was on a no-meat diet so we headed over here. We got the avo taco, jackfruit taco, and brussel sprouts. I didn’t LOVE it but I will say the avo taco is really good! Keep in mind a lot of the food is fried. Servers were very nice. The restaurant is located in the Lab and there’s parking in the back. A very«hipster-ish» place to eat. It’s $ 4 a taco but some good small dishes for sharing.

Avocado tacos are the first thing to come to mind when I think of Seabirds, but my recommendations now have changed since it’s been on weekly rotation for breakfast with my brother. Although he plans to eventually try everything off the entrée menu, I’ve hopped around the appetizers and brunch menus to try something new with each visit. It’s amazing that nothing has failed me yet, so I thought it was time share! If I didn’t give up caffeine for Lent, I would have indulged in every last drop. The coffee at Seabirds is bottomless with room for raw sugar and sweetened soy milk. However, the Birdy Mary and Cha Cha Kombucha(which is available on tap) may be great alternatives to start your day. Made with Seabirds’ house-made Bloody Mary mix, the Birdy Mary was garnished with fried pickles, a pepperoncini, green olives, wild rosemary, lime and a celery salt rim. A word of precaution would be to mix it up before taking your first sip. You may either get a mouthful of vodka or just the mix, which delivers quite the kick both ways to awaken any soul. If you like it spicy, this may be the blend you’re looking for. Moving onto entrees and other menu items conquered. Let’s start with my brother’s choices: Chorizo Tamale: House made nut chorizo, cream cheese and spinach tamales, roasted carrot and habanero sauce, chipotle sour cream and cilantro; serve with black beans and rice(Gluten Free). Biscuits, Gravy & Crispy Tofu: Rosemary cheddar biscuits, mushroom gravy, crispy tofu and steamed lacinato kale. Green Eggs & Avo Toast: House scramble with pistol and sautéed spinach, whole wheat Ciabatta toast with smashed avocado, house-made lemon salt and charred broccolini. Served with fried potatoes, but GF options are available. Here’s what I’ve had: Chilaquiles Stack: Fried tortillas, black bean smash, house scramble, pasilla pepper, house-made ranchero sauce, basil-avo sauce, corn pancake, butter and cilantro. Served with strawberry arugula salad(GF). Purple Taquitos: Purple potatoes, chipotle sour cream, fermented curtido(Salvadorian sauerkraut), almond feta and cilantro. The small plate comes with 3 and it’s gluten-free. Butternut Enchiladas: Butternut squash, spinach, black beans and mushroom enchiladas topped with a roasted Pasilla pepper sauce, almond feta, Seabirds sauce and cilantro. Served with a strawberry arugula salad and sliced avocado.(GF) The entrees and brunch options are pretty filling, but one day, I’ll leave room for dessert! They’ve got seasonal selections based on ingredients, which varies from pies to crumbles. Until next time!

I wish I lived closer to Costa Mesa, so I could come here every day. Beautiful patio, incredible food, and good selection of beer and wine. I came here yesterday for my birthday dinner and had the opportunity to try several appetizers and tacos, and everything was delicious. Stand out items for me were: –Fried artichoke drumsticks –Purple taquitos –Beer battered avocado tacos –Burnt Brussels sprouts I enjoyed that the emphasis isn’t on fake meat here-just fresh, innovative plant based dishes. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and I love their new seasonal menu. It features both some of there classic dishes while introducing some new ones. I got to sample their coconut curry soup and although it was very soothing, I went with my favorite … couldn’t help it. The holy smokes bowl with greens and added slaw instead of the rice was fantastic as always. So many flavors, so many textures, not oily at all, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The BBQ sauce and ranch sauce are great compliments to each other. I may have ate some of it right off the spoon hehe. No shame. My dad got the Reuben sandwich which looked robust with flavors and huge in size! Definitely worth a try according to him. Wish I could eat it but recently found out in gluten intolerant. My mom got one of the new salads and a taco. The dill dressing tasted kind of like their ranch with lots of dill — creamy and herby. Last but not least, we ended with the Peach cobbler. Despite being unimpressed last time, we decided to give it another try. The alcohol and sweetness was much better balanced; however, there needs to be less sauce and more fruit and crumble. The peaches were overcooked, but what can I say. Anything gooey and saucy with ice cream is delicious.

Saw this place a few weeks ago after eating dinner at another great restaurant in The Lab, The Habana. It looked nice from the outside and I made a mental note to come back and give it a try. Last night me and my GF decided to give it a try, I am so glad we did. The restaurant is very open and has a nice welcoming vibe. They offer both indoor seating and a nice little patio section for outdoor seating. Upon entering we were energetically greeted immediately by a couple of the waitresses which was a nice welcoming. We sat inside and despite the restaurant being moderately busy the noise level was not bad, and our waitress came over immediately to take our drink orders. Everything on the menu looked so good that it was hard to decide what to order. For drinks we both ended up ordering Blood Orange Lemonade which was amazing! For the food we ended up ordering multiple small plates so that we could try a variety of items. We ordered: artichoke drumsticks, burnt brussel sprouts, grilled cheese, and Purple Taquitos. Normally I critique this kind of food very heavily(I am a meat eating, my GF is vegetarian) however, all of the items we ordered were delicious. My personal favorite being the artichoke drumsticks. After eating all this food we were full and ready to ask for the check, but then the waitress did something terrible — offered us a dessert menu. Everything loomed so delicious, while my body was not hungry I could not resist. We ordered there Bourbon Peach Pop tart which ruined all other pop tarts for me, so delicious. It was crispy on the corners yet soft in the center. Just writing this post makes me want to go out and get another! As for the service are waitress was great! She checked up on us and was attentive to details. She was able to describe the dishes to us and offered up her personal opinion which was helpful. Overall it was a great restaurant experience with great food. We will definitely be back to try some more dishes!

Having another opportunity to try some of their other food and being sincerely wowed by their service, I must give Seabirds another star! Here are some of the new things that I tried: Green eggs and toast: An interesting flavorful«egg» dish that did veer a little close to the salty side but was definitely good. Because they are a vegan restaurant, they do not use eggs but a tofu substitute and mixed with the pistou, a sauce of garlic, basil and olive oil, to give it an inherent flavor with each bite. It was good that there were nice pieces of spinach mixed to kind of mild out the saltiness. It also came with a nice piece of whole wheat ciabatta toast that was slathered generously with avocado that had a slight kick to it with the lemon salt. Chorizo tamales: Amazing little corn pockets of vegan goodness that surprisingly kept well with refrigeration! The server had accidentally put in the wrong order so we were given this as a complimentary dish. After being burned by bad service at other restaurants, I must say that Seabirds offering a complimentary dish was awesome. What made it better was that the tamales were super good! Because this was given after we had already eaten, I did not eat it until a few days after, but with a little microwaving, they were still good! The house made nut chorizo had the nice roasted flavor with a light heat that one would expect from a normal meat tamale. It was enveloped with the slightly sweet corn outer layer with a layer of cheese and roasted carrot and habanero sauce. Would get these again! Chaffle: I believe that this is one of the best desserts I had and I am surprised that it was vegan! Knowing the difficulties of getting a good dessert without butter or cream, I was floored by how good this was. The base of the chaffle is a mixture of a churro and a waffle — a nice tough cinnamon exterior with a soft interior shaped in a waffle. It is simple, but the mixture of spices is spot on. When topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, it is the counterbalance to the intense flavors and the heat that come from the chaffle. All of this is drizzled with chocolate sauce and chopped pecans… It is simply amazing. Again, I can not say enough about the amazing service. It was really a simple mistake and they could have easily just hurried our corrected order, but they found an extra opportunity and offered it to us. Parking is still hard as it is limited but it is possible to find parking available on the streets nearby. Overall, Seabirds is top-notch vegan food that is definitely worth trying!

One of the many things I love about Seabirds is that their menu offers the opportunity to try multiple dishes. For example, you can buy one fried avocado taco(don’t leave without trying one; they are to die for!) and blackened brussel sprouts. Okay, so that happens to be exactly what I had last night. Let me tell you about these brussel sprouts… they are so magnificently seasoned. All I could recognize in the flavoring was very thinly sliced garlic, but there is a whole lot of other great stuff going on in each bite. My husband must have the gravy fries everytime we make it to Seabirds. The serving of fries is very generous. Now, here’s an insider’s tip for you: the gravy fries aren’t always on the menu, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Especially if they have the biscuits and gravy on the menu, they’re quite likely to throw them together for you. There is a great outdoor area to eat, in addition to the comfortable indoor seating. Oh, and Seabirds has got beer on tap now.

Soooooo tasty! This place is my jam! I eat here 5 – 10 times a month. It’s so good and I love how the menu changes every few months. Locals bowl is always on the menu though and that’s my fav dish. The blood orange lemonade is fabulous, and I love the kombucha on tap! The tomato basil soup and grilled cheese, the PURPLETAQUITOS. Also the new bar that was recently put in. Beautiful! I’m sorry I didn’t write a review sooner! I’ve been coming here over a year now and it’s always on point! My only complaint please make more strawberry basil lemonade PLEASE I miss it!

Ate here following the One Love Cali Reggae Festival in Santa Ana. Wonderful, inventive short menu of different items. We shared the burnt Brussels sprouts, Old Town Grilled Cheese and the Butternut Enchiladas. We loved all of these dishes and they have terrific vegan deserts, as well(if you’re into that). Small restaurant with a pleasing décor. Service was very good. There is one restroom and often there were four or five people waiting to use it. My only reservation with this place was the single restroom. Very convenient location near the toll road. Wish they would build one of these near me in Solana Beach. I think it would do well there.

3.5 stars Backstory — 5 years ago(ish) I bought a groupon for the Seabirds food truck. Like must groupons, i completely forgot about it and it expired. And I was sad. So when I had the chance to come here with a friend I was beyond stoked! Located in the ultra hipster Lab, seabirds is serving vegan and veggie dishes and weekend brunch. I came in on a Saturday but veered from the brunch options towards the burnt Brussels sprouts and mushroom tacos. The Brussels had great flavor but weren’t exceptional and my mushroom tacos were pretty good too. Overall I liked my meal I just wasn’t out of this world impressed with the originality of the dishes and it was hard for me to choose a dish that fit my taste buds mood, ya know? I want to give it 4 but for some reason I feel like the experience(slooooow service) and food doesn’t match up to other places I’ve ranked 4 stars so in the name of consistency I’m landing at 3.5. I recommend to any veggie or vegan goodies and I think I will eventually return and give this place another try.

Seabirds is located in The Lab, a hipster«anti-mall» with yarn art pieces, painted metal barrels, and other items that you might find at a hippie encampment in the middle of the dessert. But, despite its kitschy surroundings, Seabirds is anything but alternative: this is a quality, modern restaurant that just so happens to serve vegan fare. One of the great things about Seabirds was their attention to both taste and texture. All of the dishes I tried balanced textures(crunchy, soft, smooth) in a way that didn’t seem forced or heavy-handed; it all just worked. For instance, the amazing beer battered avo taco($ 4 for 1 taco) featured a hefty piece of avocado battered and fried to perfection. The softness of the avocado nicely contrasted the crispy, flavorful coating while the special Seabirds sauce provided extra moisture and flavor. Though not my favorite, the barbecue jack sliders($ 8 for 2) featured a nice barbecue sauce, meaty jackfruit, and a soft bun that emulated the real deal. And the«eggs» in the Green Eggs & Toast($ 12), were soft, fluffy, and delicious thanks to the addition of pistou(garlic, basil, olive oil). The included fried potatoes added just the right amount of salt and crunch to the dish. «What is a chaffle? And, how can I get one?» Those two questions should be at the tip of your tongue when coming to Seabirds Kitchen, as the chaffle($ 9) — a churro waffle hybrid drizzled with dark chocolate sauce and topped with vanilla coconut ice cream — is one of the best vegan desserts I’ve ever had. Crisp yet doughy, spice-laden yet refreshing, the chaffle elevated what was already a great meal. Definitely save room for dessert if you’re checking out Seabirds! Service was spectacular. Our waitress was friendly and helpful from the moment we were seated. When there was a slight mistake with one of our dishes, she quickly had the issue rectified. And, she offered us(free!) tamales to-go, as it had mistakenly been placed into the ordering system for a different party. Score! If you’ve never tried vegan food, Seabirds is one of the best places to take the plunge! Tips: + On a nice day I would recommend sitting outside on the patio, as the restaurant has somewhat secluded picnic tables amidst a nice array of desert plants. + The Lab has two private lots, but those can get quite full. Look for street parking on Randolph Ave if nothing else is to be found.

Faces Bristol St, located at the Lab. So parking can suck but honestly, I’ve parked at the Del Taco next to the Lab with no issues(in fact I use this parking lot for the Camp too sometimes). The interior is really nice and the staff has been very friendly every time I have come here. The menu is pretty unique and will leave you wanting to try something new every time you come… But I just can NOT get enough of the beer battered avocado tacos. Prior to being a vegetarian, I hated seafood with the exception of beer battered fish tacos. Imagine a fish taco(with typical sauce, cabbage, etc) but when you bite into the crunch part of the taco… It exposes smooth, creamy avocado. It is SO good! Other things I really appreciate and highly recommend: potato taquitos, brussel sprouts, and the use of «jack fruit» to emulate meat. I All very good, very fresh, and unique. Their cold brew was also good but nothing«stand out» good. Downside is that it’s a bit pricy but hey, you are definitely getting what you pay for. In most cases, I’d say you’d be crazy to spend $ 4 on a single taco… But it’s worth every cent.

The food is plainly decent but there is nothing that would make me want to come back. It’s hard to find a good vegetarian pave and Seabirds is no exception. hard Ordered the jack tacos, grilled cheese, and the Holy smokes bowl. Grilled cheese was good with pesto and gruyère. The jack tacos only came with one! It is quite large so we spilt it into two tacos. The holy smokes bowl tasted a lot like the tacos since it had the same pickled onions and jackfruit. The bbq sauce was too overpowering and didn’t have enough of a variety of different food in the bowl. Overall, nothing to rave about and I am quite disappointed. I would rather go to native foods café at The Camp.

I can’t thank Seabirds enough. It was not only a wonderful dinner but also amazing break from a roller coaster of nonstop chemE work. I thought this three day weekend would be something to celebrate over but instead it was crashed by some ridiculous homework that still has not been finished. I have been over-exhausted and usually when we drive back up to UCLA I look forward to dinner but this time I was just tired, frustrated, and lifeless. From the service and atmosphere to the food and accommodations, everything is just superb and satisfying. The dimmed room with strung lights framing the pictures on the walls made it all the more relaxing while the quick service despite being crowded was much appreciated. I decided to get the Holy Smokes Bowl with a few requests — more greens and added slaw in place of the brown rice and sauces on the side. My favorite part is taking my fork, mixing it all together, and then spooning it into my mouth — yuuuummmm. Not only are there a variety of textures but also flavors. The hint of coconut at the end from the coconut bacon is a refreshing touch to the tangy bbq sauce from the bounty of bbq jackfruit. Their ranch sauce is also addicting! It’s creamier and smoother than regular ranch and plays nicely off of the pickled red onion. My only complaint is that it was bigger because the bowl was licked clean. Can’t wait to come back. Love everything about this place and appreciate their willingness to make accommodations to their menu items.

I love this restaurant beyond words. The staff is super friendly, and knowledgable! Honestly a wonderful place to eat whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or not! Each food item is packed with flavor and intent. The parking can get really packed if you’re going during a busy time, like a Friday night. Otherwise it’s not too bad. It’s a large shared outdoor lot for the outdoor mall. Here are a few awesome choices I love! It’s so hard to choose. Purple Taquitos $ 7: Purple potatoes, chipotle sour cream, fermented curtido, almond feta, cilantro. Comes with 3, Gluten free. These are so so good! One of my favorites for sure. Burnt Brussel Sprouts $ 6: Roasted to a crisp and tossed with fried garlic, lime and dijon mustard. Can’t go wrong with some tender brussel sprouts. BBQ Jack Sliders $ 8: Whole wheat buns with shredded bbq jackfruit, Seabirds slaw, caramelized onion and dill pickles. First time I had these was the first time I had jackfruit as a meat substitute. I’ve been hooked since! Chorizo Tamales $ 16: House-made nut chorizo, cream cheese and spinach tamales, roasted carrot and habanero sauce, chipotle sour cream, and cilantro; served with black beans and rice. Gluten free. A bit pricier compared to some of the other plates listed but they are pretty good! I really really enjoyed these and would get them again. Chaffle $ 9: A churro waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and chopped pecans. I’m not much of a dessert eater, but my goodness. Being vegan, I know the struggle of finding amazing vegan sweets. I take them where I can get them! It’s amazing, and a large portion to share! The last time I went in, they also had Jack Asada Nachos! Which isn’t a regular menu item, but they are something I crave all the time. Seriously. If they have them, get them. So, that’s just a few of the things I’d recommend that are totally comfort foods haha! They also have healthy bowls and such which are super yummy. Everything here is amazing. Prices are reasonable for the quality and care in the food! The restaurant itself is so clean and has a wonderful style to it. I recommend this place to everyone!

I wish I lived in Costa Mesa just so I could come to Seabirds everyday. I’ll start off by saying that I’ve been here only once, but I’ve been hearing amazing things about it for the past six months or so. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, overall it’s a fairly small establishment so I imagine when it gets busy– there’s a decent waiting line. Luckily, it wasn’t too busy when I came by. The menu is fairly diverse, even though it’s a relatively small menu. It was hard deciding what to get because everything sounded good. I ended up ordering the taquitos, grilled cheese, and the avocado taco. WOW, all spectacular. I don’t even have a favorite, they were all that good! Next time I come, I will be definitely ordering some beverages(heard good things about those too) and trying out new things on the menu! I don’t normally try new things once I fall in love with certain dishes, but since everything I tried was so amazing, I doubt that the other menu options will disappoint me in the slightest. Prices are a bit high, but so, so worth it. *Customer service was kind of non existent– which was the only negative aspect. But not negative enough to give this place less than 5 stars. The lady taking our order just seemed awkward and not wanting to be there, not very communicative.

Went here with full knowledge that I was gonna get the holy smokes bowl and fries, I really love how they marinate their jackfruit and my bf who isn’t a vegetarian like me loved their jackfruit tacos — he said he’d never guess they were vegan!(And not made of actual shredded meat.) we also tried the Brussels sprouts and they were very tasty! Everything is perfectly seasoned and I enjoy all the sauces they have for you customize your food to as spicy as you wish. I appreciate the fact that they use extremely high quality organic products to prepare their food and how everything is completely plant-based. That also explains their prices being a little higher than average but honestly nothing crazy. Can’t wait to return and try the grilled cheese! :)

I’m in love! I don’t consciously seek out vegan food but I’ve had some coworkers who swear by this place so I was curious. I have seen the food truck before but have never tried it. My coworker and I shared: — Holy Smokes Bowl: YUM. I would get this bowl again for sure. It has bbq jackfruit and coconut bacon. The flavor and the textures of this bowl went really well together, and it filled me up without being too heavy. Love it! — Butternut Enchiladas: I preferred the bowl. This was surprisingly a little too spicy for me as it had roasted pasilla pepper sauce. But if you’re not a spice wuss like me, I bet you’ll enjoy this! They have some amazing sounding tacos that I’ll definitely be back to try. And if you check-in on Unilocal, you get a 10% off their Locals Bowl which also sound delicious!

What happened, Seabirds?!? You’ve completely grossed out a loyal fan of your former truck, and newbie to your brick-and-mortar. **Shudder** What a horror story… Popped in for a bite to-go before class yesterday. There were only two small tables dining — the place was super empty. I ordered the«burnt Brussels sprouts», like I’d had before, and also opted to try the half chopped salad. They told me my order would take about 10 minutes, so I grabbed a seat at the higher level table that has a birds-eye-view of the kitchen… big mistake. As I watched the«kitchen» get my order, 4 people hurried around the back washing dishes and such and one guy working the closest station grabbed my order ticket. He then proceeded to grab pre-made Brussels sprouts and throw them in the microwave behind him. There’s no door to the tiny kitchen so the whole place could hear the microwave beeps — and see what he was doing. I also don’t get how they have to pre-make pan veggies — especially on a Monday night with a total of 3 people in the restaurant. Lazy! And I would never expect a place so forwardly healthy and veg/vegan to have such low standards! As my Brussels sprouts warmed up, he grabbed a ginormous size container of pre-chopped lettuce and pulled bunches out of the bin with his bare hands… THEN stopped mid-way to wipe his nose on the back of his hand. Um…excuse me?! WTH??? Right after his nose had been satiated by his bare hands he continued to grab my chopped lettuce out of the container!!! I’m never coming back. I’ve never been this appalled at somewhere before — and I’m a girl that likes middle-of-nowhere dive bars… that’s saying a lot.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a long time… last Tuesday I finally did! PARKING/LOCATION: It is located at «The Lab». There is a parking lot for the LAB, but it is not that big. We came during lunch time and luckily found a spot. When we walked out to our car, there were a decent amount of spots available. WAIT: We had no wait. The restaurant was at least half full. There is seating inside and outside. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Overall, customer service was good. FOOD: I tried the Avo Taco and it was delicious! My sister had the Holy Smokes bowl and loved it. The Tacos just come as one, but it was pretty filling for me. The bowl is a good size and she had to take home left overs. For being vegetarian/vegan, this place has a great selection of delicious items on the menu!

Okay, so I feel that my review is very biased since all I ate was a very boring salad. Came here with my girlfriends last week and wasn’t in the mood to really eat much. I ordered two half salads and they didn’t wow me in any way, but everyone else loved their meals! The kale salad needed more massaging and only had two small croutons. The other salad(can’t even remember what was in it except for garbanzo beans) was just eeeh. Maybe my expectations were too high but I would expect that for a vegan joint, the salad would have been more creative.
