2.99 bean and cheese burrito. The dollar menu at Del Taco is better very skimpy on their servings they have a sign out front saying the same food since 1958 I don’t think so

Sad little taco shack… I had a carne asada soft taco and chicken flautas, neither were particularly bad. But there was no effort to develops any flavored. The chicken in the flautas were boiled, and the«guac», well it was possibly had some avocado product in it, but should not have been call guacamole… The taco was sad, wet meat without much flavor other than the choking amount of salt, Also had lettuce and what may have been pico de gallo. Don’t think I’ll be back any time Soon, but it was quick and hot, so I have them an extra star.

So here I am again two years later giving what I want to be El Taco another chance to redeem itself. Well, they failed again. Seriously this place almost completely sucks… I have never in my life had such terrible Mexican rice… okay so I don’t think it’s fusion Asian Mexican rice anymore its back to be Mexican rice but the only thing that’s right about it now is the color. There was zero flavor zero… it was horrible and the quesadilla my favorite thing a quesadilla red the cheese didn’t taste the same and the Red sauce just didn’t have it… its like they’re not using any spices… salt and pepper or anything in their food anymore… I’m so disappointed I don’t think I’ll ever go back. and to tell you the truth I am a pretty forgiving person and I’m not forgiving this one… Sianara… Arivaderche…. Adiós Muchachos… Ciao… Buh Bye… Done!

I go here regularly for breakfast. Their bacon and chorizo breakfast burritos are great and the staff is always quick and friendly. Great hole in the wall for cheap Mexican food.

I just don’t see what everybody is complaining about. I’ve been there at least a dozen times and have never had a problem with the food, or the cleanliness. I love their tacos, and the red chile beef combinations are the bomb. The green ones are good too, but I prefer their red. I thought their tacos were flavorful. The lady behind the counter is nice too. The reason for four stars instead of five, is one night(after visiting several times and the lady knows me) it was one minute before they closed. She refused to serve me. C’mon, I drive from Irvine and am there one minute till closing. And she said they were closed? Bullshit.

Eh. Ordered a shrimp n potato burrito that was almost $ 8 and pretty skimpy. Order took them 20 mins to fill.

First off here is link to all of thier RECENTHEALTHCODEVIOLATIOS. . Hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I wasn’t expecting much. Just some Carne Asada tacos was all I wanted. I end up ordering the super Asada burrito. There was nothing super about it. Even with the guacamole and sour cream it was disgustingly salty. Simply inedible. So I took the burrito back to the counter and asked for a refund telling the lady that it was too salty. She said ok and tried to convince me to settle for some other piece of shitty food. I told her I did not want any of their food. She literally said oh no its just the asada. They know the food they make is shit!!! I had to drill it into her that I did not want to eat anything they make, and finally they refunded my $ 7 in cash because they couldn’t find the refund button on the card reader. During this whole ordeal my fiancé is trying to stomache one of their ground beef hard tacos. Had I tried that prior to going to the counter I’d have demanded a refund on the entire meal. In short we paid $ 9 to get sick and settle for Jack in the box. Just don’t do it.

Since I live on the same block, but around the corner, I thought I would try some of the food. Perhaps I have bias since perhaps it was over-hyped. Tacos were ok. Burritos aren’t though.

I would give this place ZEROSTARS if I could. My first time trying it out — I order a Carnitas Burrito and a Medium drink(not even a large, mind you) — it comes out to about eight bucks. I take it to go — turns out it’s just bean and cheese. I take it back. The Chinese(?) guy(probably the owner) tells me «I charge you for bean and cheese » . But I ordered Carnitas … Same response three times. No offer to fix my situation. Fuck this place.

First time here. Ordered a chile relleno burrito, not bad, not amazing. Too close to Miguel’s Jr for me(aka white people Mexican food, Betty Crocker does Mexican…)(I grew up eating at Manuel’s el Tepeyac in East LA, so I know what I’m talking about). The ‘chunky beef’ burrito was more like shredded beef,(def not like carne asada…) and had too much sour cream which destroyed the flavours, so no idea if the beef was seasoned at all. On the plus side, the ‘hot salsa’ is flavourful and has a nice bite to it. I’ll probably try a couple more times with different items just to be sure before I write them off… I’m just really hoping for a killer taco/burrito place close to home.

I work nearby and have tried this«place» now 3 times in the past 4 years and I can honestly say that all 3 visits were the same bad experience and the same first…there are nats and flies hovering at the pick up window coming from inside… GROSS!!! second…The food quality is bad… the meat is pre-cooked and tasted bad… This last time, I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was rolled like a burrito with microwaves cheese and chunks of chicken with no prepping, spices or ANYTHING… it looked like 4 – 5 pieces of chicken chinks put in from a can third…they are way overpriced for the crap your receiving… I have had many co-workers say the same thing about this place… BADFOOD and GROSS unsanitary conditions with BUGS AVOID!!!

I been there several times and I’m not impressed, I mean granted it’s a step above Del Taco and Taco bell, but not by much. You’d figure your salsa would be insanely great but it’s mediocre at best.

This place is amazing! Great low prices and non greasy food! Great sizes and plenty of meat in their tacos and burritos! I’ve had lots of things from this place and keep forgetting their generous sizes in the meal. A definite must try when you’re in the area. Yay for good Mexican food ! Just know that the outdoor seating is very small and minimal.

The way I review is simple & I think fair as the review is based on what it is, in other words I dont do a review diet coke as «YUCK» if I only drink coke classic? or visa-versa. Sure there is lots better, but this is for this one. This is a taco stand its been there foreverrrrrrrr prices are cheap all the way for you cheap-os. The fact that there is seating provided doesnt make it a dinner spot, the neigborhood is harbor blvd and behind it isnt much better lol get it to go and lock your doors(ok not that bad but there are crack-head motels down the st. thats fact) However the enchilada sauce is awesome! chucks of beef in it, the crunchy tacos are well made simple but clean and they have this tangy taco sauce thats good and the big secret is their tauqitos are real good like pot roast in a crunchyrolled taco… i also I recomend the wet burrito its in my pic teh reg B/C is bland, make it wet and its always better. havent had much more. — 3 on taco 4 stars on the wet burrito 5 on the tauquito.

Wow so gross. Not inedible but not anything I would willingly taste again. The red sauce that they’re so proud of is what really made the meal bad for me. It just has a really strange, almost sweet flavor that was not my shebang. The quesadilla is what I came for and I so wanted to be impressed. It was big and ooey-gooey full of cheese, but the flavor was so off that I couldn’t get through half of it before giving up. The nachos looked great and the chips were crispy, but again with the weird flavor. The hot sauce is pretty good but certainly not a reason to go here. All in all, this place was no bueno. I’d opt for Miguel Jr. just down the street on 17th. Much better food for the same price range.

Here is the thing, Its in Southern California. And here’s the thing, It’s Costa Mesa. And here’s the thing, there are lots of Mexicans here. And here’s the thing, Mexicans make great food. And here’s the thing, This isn’t Mexican food. I mean maybe by some Midwesterner’s point of view it is, but I’m not from those states and I don’t pretend to know the differences between different plates of meat and potatoes. So don’t impose your version of Mexican food on me. Just because it is called a taco, doesn’t mean it’s Mexican. Your mom makes better tacos than this. Sorry. I don’t mean to spread hate on the Midwestern states. Good honest people I suspect. But I digress. The only redeeming quality of this place is that they serve orange bang. Which is one of the staple drinks of any classic So Cal joint. What I’m getting at is that there are WAY too many good Mexican joints around here to be eating food like this. There are way too many good restaurants in general to be eating at a place like this. Eat Taco Bell over this.

Not sure if this has anything to do with my recent review of «Miguel’s Jr» but I think I am seriously done with the thought of trying any other places that includes the«Jr» in their name. This location is down the street from the place too. Perhaps they are cousins or just friends but this place is just as bad at Miguel’s. Came here on an errand run to my shoe repair place on Harbor and thought, I know this place has been here for a long long time so they must be doing something right. I didn’t judge, just gave them the benefit of the doubt. Kinda wished I didn’t stopped by. My friends and I all ordered a Burrito of different meats. Not one was memorable or tasty. None of us finished out burritos and we were darn hungry too. Failure lunch run… for sure! I would rather eat Taco Bell than eat here. I couldn’t believe they offered 2 sauces… a plain tasteless red sauce and a package red sauce. I think it was the same sauce. Either way, both were nasty in taste and didn’t add any gastro-value to our burritos. Was it good? Heck NO!!! Was it cheap? Heck yes!!! Will I come back??? HECKNO! ONLYONE good thing to remember about our trip here. Since we saw a sign that said Churros with fillings for $ 1.25. Why not waste our $ 1.25 to try it. It was DELISH and it was made to order so it was fresh and hot when we got it. We inhaled the 1st one and ordered 3 more. I couldn’t believe I walked away with cream-filled Churros. Now if you ask if I would come back… I will now answer, HECKYES for just the CHURROS! If you don’t wanna believe my or the other Unilocaler’s review… try this NOT-SO-AMAZING food but please try their AMAZING Churros. I have secretly come back several times to just pick out 4 Churros just for moi! YUMMYCHURROS is a HAPPYTUMMY!!!

Came here for a couple of quick breakfast burritos. They don’t have much of a breakfast menu, but hey all I wanted was burritos, so it worked for me! I ordered the papa con huevo(potato and egg) and a huevo con jamon(egg and ham) burrito. Both were pretty big. They were filled with eggs and cheese, and just enough ham. I ordered the salsa on the side so my burrito wouldn’t get soggy by the time I got home. I would have to say my favorite was the papa con huevo, I just love the fried potatoes, egg and cheese mixture, very yummy! It’s about 4.00 a burrito, worth it, I think! The lady who works there was very friendly and they got my order out pretty quick. Can’t wait to go back!
