Cute décor and atmosphere. Cupcakes, not the best… I bought them and put them in fridge for later. Perhaps I didn’t let them get to room temp quite enough. Frosting was super sweet. Not 100% sure they were baked that day… I will, however, give them another chance and go back with girlfriends for coffee and perhaps try the lunch fare.

Found The Queen’s Bakery through groupon/living social deal. Meh. So, we came on a Wednesday afternoon. I had a reservation for 4. Right when we walked in, she immediately shows us a list of all the teas she does NOT have in stock. Wow, that was quite a list. She said we could each choose 1 tea. I asked, can we try other teas? I’ve been to other tea houses where you can try as many flavors as you like. Uh, no… but, they will keep refilling the pot with hot water. wth??? So, you mean I get 1 tea bag and you’re going to just keep pouring hot water on it so that I get diluted tea? YAY. Fine, so let’s get to the scones. Scones are teeeeeensy tiny, like bite size. And they only have devonshire cream, no clotted cream. Maybe not a deal breaker for some, but if you have a limey with you, which I do, she was not happy. Now, time for the sandwiches. With our deal, we each got 4 sandwiches. She was nice enough to make a substitution for my little one who is allergic to nuts and serve her on a separate plate. We got tuna, pesto, cream cheese & cucumber, and nutella sandwiches. The little one got a ham, turkey, club like thing. They looked ok, but they were all dry as he** and bland. It didn’t help to wash it down with the tea, because by that point I was just drinking warm water : — For dessert, there was fruit, brownies, and raspberry tarts. FINALLY, the savings grace was the tarts and fruit. I was surprised by the area. Queen’s Bakery is located in an industrial area. The inside was cute, as you can see by the pictures. But, I definitely won’t be back ever again. For my money and for the ambiance, I’d go back to Tea & Teacups in Yorba Linda.

— décor is very cute — great place for a little girl’s tea party — got a groupon deal $ 40& $ 9 tax. thats not including our tip. The lady ringing us up says if we didnt have the groupon, it wouldve been well over 100 $+++ Our deal came with 4 little diff teapots, 4 oatmeal raisins(which was actually good, but very sweet) then came a plate of sandwiches(cucumber with cream cheese, nutella, tuna, spinach pesto) and then came fruits & desserts. sandwiches were very plain & simple, barely anything inside & my sisters & i didnt care for it much. The workers were nice though, but I wished i order individual instead of using the groupon. The table next to us had salads, and paninis! real human food, not these anorexic barbie doll food we had :(

This shop definitely lives up to the name queens bakery when you walk in and see its gaudy interior. A decent brunch place or a place to take your niece or daughter to. Food wise: I’d skip the tuna salad. Nothing too exciting. The turkey basil pesto sandwich was rather delicious though with its crisp perfectly toasted bread and just the right amount of turkey with a nice touch of pesto flavor. The salad dressing that came with the sandwich was the best. Reminded me of a horse radish kind of flavor. Cupcakes: I had the lemon one, which didn’t taste much like lemon at all. The chocolate raspberry one was better since the cupcake isn’t too sweet and the raspberry frosting gives it the right amount of flavors and sweetness. But it was a little dry for my taste. Also the spout of my tea pot had a crack in it. I had ordered a strawberry green tea but didn’t taste much strawberry so either they or my order wrong or the strawberry just didn’t get infused Into my tea bag long enough.

I’ve gone to a couple tea houses in the past. All I have to say is, this place was the worst, from their horrendous customer service, to the horrible teas and desserts. When we arrived for our reservation, the first comment from the girl behind the counter was… oh, your early. I think we can find you a spot. They sat us right next to the kitchen… I would have rather waited the additional 10 minutes to be seated in a nicer area. When I asked for a description of the teas, the two girls behind the counter were unable to describe the teas. Errr. if you’re working at a tea house, you should be able to describe the tea, taste, aroma, etc… When we received our teas. Creamer wasn’t provided… when asked, we received curdled tea!!! When we told the server this, she didn’t apologize and didn’t take the creamer away from our table. She did take the cup of tea with the curdled tea and gave us new cups. My tea was bland. I’m. It sure what my friend thought of hers. When we received our scones. They were rock hard. We overheard the server tell a table next to us. That they apologize for the delay on their scones. But they will be coming out shortly. «Fresh out of the oven.» WTF!!! So you give us rock hard scones, but tell the other table that they will be receiving freshly baked scones? AND the kicker. I pulled out a metal wire from the scone I was eating. When I showed this to the server, she said it was the saffron from a bread of theirs. I told her ‘no’. Picked it up and showed it to her. It was a piece of wire. I received no apologies. She merely took it and put it in her apron. The tea sandwiches were mediocre. The cucumber sandwiches were overpowered by the cream cheese. There’s supposed to be a delicate balance between cream cheese and cucumbers. The only tea sandwich that was decent was the spinach pesto sandwich. The desserts were too sweet. The cupcake with the pink frosting was way too sweet. The tiramisu tart was too hard. A tart should be light and flakey, not rock hard. The brownie was decent. It tasted like a brown from Ralph’s. So, as for the ambiance if Queen’s Bakery. The photos on Unilocal and their website is deceptive. I was expecting something different. My friend and I usually enjoy our outings for afternoon tea. We usually like the ambiance, tea, and little sandwiches and pastries. This was not it. I was hoping that because this place was closer to us, we might have found a new place to frequent. This place is definitely not it! Overall, bad service, curdled creamer, wire in my scone, mediocre sandwiches and pastries, no apologies from the server or manager. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone,

Cute place for a lunch with your girls. Try their cucumber mint fizzy water, it’s sweet and refreshing! And their petit fours are to die for — beautifully iced baby vanilla cakes! Perfection! I’ve also tried their Chipotle mocha: A bit too spicy for me. But if you’re into that, you’ll like it. Cake pops: Pretty good. I’d give them a B+ or A– Orchard salad(with spinach, apples, cucumbers, red onion, topped with candied walnuts, blue cheese and tossed in our signature peach dressing): Good salad, but at $ 10 it’s a bit pricey for what you get. cherry vanilla tea: Awesome. You’ve got to try this one!

Cute décor, inside and out!!! Terrible service. Tried this place because there was a deal($ 21 for 2) for tea time and I absolutely LOVE tea time! Servers touched their hair often and then go back tono serving. One particular server female, long black hair, bulkier built, had a nasty attitude from the start. Cute décor. Check out their cute chairs. Mediocre tea sandwiches. Mediocre«tea cookies«which tasted like tin bought cookies doused in powdered sugar. Creamy earl Greg tea didn’t taste good but they wouldn’t let me switch for a different tea bag? Seriously? They don’t have cream for tea time? Wow. They should not be allowed to serve tea if they don’t have cream. Its one thing to not have sugar cubes, I get it they’re pricey and regular sugar will do… but not cream?

I wish there was an option to give zero stars because this place doesn’t even deserve one star. So disappointed; I will never return!!! Bought Living Social vouchers, I had to practically beg to be allowed to redeem. I was told they were too busy to accommodate my dining in or even a walk-in request but was finally able to persuade them into allowing me to take out. When I got there, the place was half empty. Placing my order was a whole other ordeal. Everything I wanted to order from the menu they were out of, so I was forced to order items that I didn’t even want just so I can redeem my voucher before it expired. Additionally, the staff was rude, unfriendly, and inattentive. To top things off, when I got home I discovered both appetizers were not in the bag. When I called to let them know my only option was to return to pick them up but I live too far to make the trip back and they refused to offer any sort of credit. The icing on the cake was the food and cupcakes were horrible!!! I can make better homemade cupcakes; theirs was a joke! To sum it all up, this place is not worth spending even one penny. Tasteless food, dry and flavorless cupcakes, and awful customer service!!!

What a joke and a complete embarrassment to the concept of high tea. Groupon users beware: this is not worth the 50% off deal! Several things wrong with Queens Bakery: — Service is terrible. Stood there 5 min without being acknowledged and when the lady was finally done with her other task, she just walked away. Had to flag someone down to get seated. — Once seated, another server handed me two wet plates and a dish of under-cooked scones. — The tea is weak, just dumped a bag into the pot with the tag submerged in the water. — Addtl fee on top of Groupon? Had to pay an addtl $ 5 «tax» plus 0.65 to use my credit card? Shut down already! — Ambiance: don’t believe the pretty pictures of the cute décor; you’ll be completely disenchanted when you walk into the awkwardly laid out floor plan. Oh, and because it’s in a small and cramped place, it gets loud, real LOUD, when more than 3 tables of women are seated. All in all, felt disgusted and wanted to leave the minute I had to clean my own plates and utensils.

What a rip off. I love tea. I love tea rooms. Scarlet Tea Room in Pasadena will always be my favorite, since it gets everything right: beautiful tea room, classy service, delicious food, amazing waitstaff, and great value. I love Chado Team room because their tea is absolutely wonderful. This place? It’s like being stuck in Barbie’s dream home with bad food. I purchased the Groupon, thinking, like most others, that it was a great deal: $ 20 for Her Majesty’s tea for 2 people. I took my mom with me, because she loves Scarlet Tea Room as much as I do. 1: the groupon says to call to make reservations. I called four times, no one ever picked up the phone. 2: When we got there, I presented my Groupon, and was told I needed to pay a balance of $ 4.95. I asked why, but she pretended not to hear me. I didn’t want to cause a scene and figured it was only $ 5 so just paid it anyway. 3: We were seated in the back corner of the restaurant. One wall was so obnoxiously pink, it was hard to look at it. Another wall was covered in what looked like Reynold’s wrap foil. So not as cute as I thought it would be, but hey, it was still only $ 25. 4: The scones were great! They were only about 2 inches in diameter, though. Sadly, that was the only good thing we ate the entire time we were there. 5: The sandwiches were pretty gross. We had tuna salad on Ciabatta(all bread, no tuna, but tuna was pretty terrible so it was a fair trade off), spinach and feta(dry, not flavorful), nutella and banana(Should be good, was not. Way too much nutella in the sandwich and it was SOLID), and cucumber cream cheese(way too much cream cheese). We couldn’t take more than a bite of any of them. 6: Desserts were dry and flavorless. We were served fruit, brownies, tarts, and cupcakes. I’m pretty sure the frosting on the cupcakes was reused on the tarts. All we ate was the fruit. 7: Tea. How can you call yourself a tea room and have bad tea? My mom ordered peppermint and it didn’t taste minty. I ordered the Cream of Earl Grey and it didn’t taste Creamy or of Earl Grey. We checked and no they didn’t get our order wrong. To recap, I would never come here again, I would never recommend anyone to visit and if you want a REAL tea room, go to Scarlet Tea Room or Chado Tea Room.

First off I wanted to say that I REALLY wanted to like this place. This review was based on the experience we had during our June visit. My sister wanted to come here for her birthday based on the beautiful pictures on Unilocal.I made reservations online for about 8 adults weeks in advance. They would either call or email the confirmation(I think it was via email — can’t remember). Other reviewers complained of the lack of parking, but we were fine on the Saturday afternoon we went. It was just us and one other large party. My friend was first to arrive and told the staff she was here for a party under my reservation. The staff told her they don’t take reservations and left her standing there like an idiot(so she says). When I stepped inside, I was completely disappointed. I was expecting the place to be bigger(like a restaurant), but I guess it’s really just a bakery(hence the name of the business). There was one closed off party on the side so there were only 3 seating areas left. The yellow area was not comfortable for a large group because you feel far away from you friends. As we got situated in our seats, we realized they don’t have menus, so we got back up and stood in line to order our lunch. I had the Turkey Basil Pesto sandwich, which was delicious. The rest of my party didn’t really enjoyed what they had. They took a long time to make the sandwiches(the larger party already had their food and was eating away). The lady even forgot to bring out some of our drinks.(I feel really bad saying all this because she was very nice and we did personally hand her a nice/decent tip, so the younger lady(owner??) wouldn’t take it. The lady who served us looked overworked too.) It was just a weird setup, so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the tip on table since we had already paid for the sandwiches at the register. Anyway, before the tipping and after finishing the sandwiches, we wanted to order dessert. The younger lady(owner?) kept on saying hold on(she seemed annoyed or can’t be bothered or I have no idea what is her problem. If she was the owner, I would think that she would be happily catering to us, but maybe she’s not the owner then??) Later on she disappeared to the back room. I think we waited 3 times just to try to get someone to take our order of the cupcakes, and the place wasn’t even busy. It was still just us and the other closed off party. I was expecting a bakery to actually have a bunch of different cupcakes and pastries. Nope. Just a few pieces behind the window. The tiramisu tasted weird and it was leaking. The regular cupcakes didn’t taste moist. I did enjoy a few of the desserts, but I cannot remember the names. I don’t think we will ever come back here again. This may be a nice place to just sit and chill with a few people(like 4 people max), but not a whole big group(unless you requested a private party or something, I don’t know). I don’t even know why they bother with online reservation forms when they told my friend we didn’t need it.

A friend of mine invited me to have tea with her, as she bought a Groupon for this place. That should have been our cue not to go because alot of businesses who sign up for Groupon almost always is a disappointment in one way or another. The place is very cute, but the charm pretty much starts and stops there. When we came in the owner(brunette woman) was standing behind the cashier as my friend and I ordered. I was thinking that perhaps the girl was new and the owner was just trying to make sure she was doing it right, but let me tell you this owner lady could really use a lesson on how to smile and greet/acknowledge her patrons. When my friend mentioned to the cashier that she was using a Groupon, that’s when the owner really gave us the stink eye. Listen woman! If you don’t want people getting your food for half price, don’t freakin advertise on Groupon! You obviously signed up because you wanted more people to know about your place! Keep your attitude in check. We ordered to salads, two teas, hummus, and alot of little desserts. The desserts and teas were okay, everything else we had was straight up rancid. The hummus were really really stale, the salad I ordered was much too sour and looked bruised(I had two bites then proceeded to just not eat any further). My friend had some kind of salad with strawberries, I had a bite and was not impressed either. The service was non existent as we had to get our own sugar.(We still left a good tip because we did use a Groupon, even though it wasn’t earned). My friend and I decided during the course of this«lunch» that we should go else where afterwards for lunch and did. This was the first time in my life where I went to an establishment to have lunch but because the food was so bad I had to go elsewhere immediately to have a do over. Needless to say we will not be going back, and have been telling everyone we know not to come here. This place was disappointing at best and pathetic at worst.

Review of tea service: Pros: Tea is very good. Scones are small but tasty. Tuna, cucumber, and Nutella sandwiches are delicious. Cons: Very noisy and busy. Not calming like a regular tea house. Spinach sandwich not good. Tea menu is fixed and no one comes over and explains what you’ll be getting. Service is ok but I wouldn’t say they are friendly. Desserts were underwhelming. They serve tea in cups with finger holes intended for 5-year-olds! Bottom line: If you’re a high tea connoisseur, you will be disappointed.

I came here over Thanksgiving weekend with my mom who bought the Travel Zoo deal for a $ 20 tea for two. The deal actually expired in October, but because they were completely booked they let us make reservations for after the expiration date. The Queen’s Bakery is kind of hard to find on a little street with industrial buildings. The inside is quite cool and modern, not all English Granny and Laura Ashley as most tea places are. There is also a small patio out front if you don’t mind looking out at an auto shop. Unfortunately, the food just wasn’t that great. First of all, there aren’t that many kinds of tea(maybe like 6?) and the tea is a tea bag. I’ve been to tea at other places on a few occasions and the tea was loose leaf and they gave us specific instructions on how long to brew it. Salad was just whatever and then there were 3 mini sandwiches(nutella, cucumber cream cheese and brie apricot jam) and 3 mini desserts(red velvet cupcake, brownie and apple pie). I made the mistake of skipping lunch and I ended up inhaling everything! The bread on the nutella sandwich was super dry(maybe because it was wheat?), but the others were okay. The desserts were alright too, but nothing to rave about. I was disappointed because I wished there were more savory elements and there were NOSCONES! Scones and clotted cream seem like an essential part of tea to me. Oh and there was no tiered tray boo :( Basically, I couldn’t believe that this was supposed to cost nearly $ 25/person. $ 10/person seems much more appropriate. I didn’t see the value at all and I left starving. There were also a bunch of screaming kids at a party, so if you’re looking for a quiet experience, maybe call ahead and ask what’s scheduled for the day.

Queen Bakery Open for Private Parties!!! Love the cute interior décor and outdoor patio. Warning: It’s a small street off of Baker when you’re heading towards the 55 Fwy, away from Fairview. It’s called Grace Ln. You might miss it and you should turn right into it so you should be on the right side.(I’m not sure if you can make a left into that street.) It’s so small I was afraid to miss it! Once you’re on Grace Ln, you have drive a few yards, because you don’t see it right away. It’s all warehouses around. Not that glamorous, like the entrance of this tiny little bakery…

Honestly, I have nothing to compare my tea experience to as I’ve never had high tea anywhere; however, I was less than impressed by Queen’s Bakery and their Travelzoo deal of tea for 2. My friend Grace and I both bought vouchers for Queen’s wanting to try it out. We thought it was a great deal. On paper it was, but the execution suffered greatly. First of all, you need a reservation because the bakery is small. Secondly, the sandwiches and desserts are a set menu. The only things you have a choice in were the types of tea and the types of salads. We all chose the house salads which sounded great but were overdressed in a sickly sweet dressing. I should have asked for it on the side because it overwhelmed the entire salad. The tea sandwiches we received were: cucumber & cream cheese, feta & basil, and nutella & strawberry. All the sandwiches sounded amazing but the bread was stale and I felt like I didn’t want to finish any of them. The desserts looked pretty but upon tasting them, the only thing I liked was the mango mousse cake. The cupcakes were overly sweet. As for the tea, you can’t really mess it up. I loved the strawberry green tea. The Duchess tea and the Creamy Earl Grey was good even though the creamy Earl Grey might have been regular Earl Grey. Service was spotty at best. Our server looked tired at 2pm on a Saturday. I think she could have used a little pep in her step or something because she looked beat. The place was busy with 2 different parties going on. I looked at the dessert display case and was excited to see the different offerings but after having tea and food, I doubt I’d want to buy anything else there. The décor is nice and it’s obviously a good place for a birthday party or bridal shower. Just don’t expect much.

Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme that cake! Well it tastes so good don’t pass it all around. Seriously you don’t want to pass it all around. They have some tasty tasty cupcakes here and you definitely want to keep them for yourself. Saw the review that Nick H wrote in the morning and after a yummy lunch down the street with Cat T and Brandon N we decided to come here for some sweet treats and this place did not disappoint. They had a Unilocal check in deal of a medium coffee so we all 3 got that and ordered 4 cupcakes to share. Strawberry Vanilla Whoa this is the best damn strawberry frosted cupcake I’ve ever had. The frosting doesn’t have that fake/artificial strawberry taste to it and the cake has my favorite consistency of medium density and moistness. It’s got a light taste and biting into it took me back to my childhood when I used to smash fresh strawberries in condensed milk and pour it over pound cake. I can eat a whole dozen of these yummy cupcakes! Red Velvet Red Velvet is one of my fave cakes and there are a lot of places that don’t do it right. Well this place does a damn good job of it. The cake again was dense and moist and had a good taste of cocoa. Just because the cake is red doesn’t mean its a red velvet. The only thing I was disappointed about was the frosting. It wasn’t the traditional cream cheese. It tasted more like it was whipped up with confectioner sugar. Chocolate Rosewater Wow talk about biting into a bouquet of roses. The icing on this cupcake has an amazing amount of rose water essence in it. This was one of the first cupcakes we wanted to try but it came in 3rd. Like the 2 other cupcakes and I’m sure all have the same consistency. The chocolate cake was good with little pieces of chocolate chips. Almond Amaretto Nicely done. I’m not really a fan of amaretto so this would be my least favorite. Almonds for me are something more savory than sweet. At $ 2.75 per cupcake it’s even more delish! They also offer things for lunch like Panini, Salads, Sandwich and they sound amazing and so we will be back to try something for lunch!

A Real Princess(Queen) Bakery! A perfect place for little girls! I came here because of the Unilocal deal! Yup, Unilocal has a coupon. They also have a check-in discount. My little one was astonished and the whole concept was beyond her belief. She truly thought she was in a Queen’s bakery! This is the real deal for a tea time you may want with your little one. ~Cupcakes, Macarons, Ding Dong-2 Stars I am not a big fan of the cupcakes or their ding dong. Also, I tried the lavender macaron and it was not good at all. I had the rose water cupcake. I am a fan of rosewater. The frosting was AOK, but the cupcake itself was not very tasty. Ding Dong was super dry and not too tasty. ~Hot Dog Croissant-4.0 stars! The bread around the hot dog was superb. The hotdog was cooked perfectly. ~Petite Four-4 Stars! I had the vanilla strawberry. It was moist, tasty and a delight! ~Strawberry Cream Italian Soda-4.0 Stars Amazing the way they do it here. It also comes in a beautiful glass. Ambiance-5 Stars! A real place to have tea time with the little one. Mine wore her princess dress. We had Italian Soda, hot dog, desserts, and played cards on divine couches with great soft pink pillows. An amazing place! I wish the cupcakes, ding dong, and macarons were better. But… Overall, I am a fan! The Queen’s Bakery, Costa Mesa… another reason the OC is the best place to live!

I came here with the Travelzoo deal I purchased, which was a $ 15 deal for 2 people that includes 2 drinks, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. And let me tell you, this was the best deal ever! I do see myself coming here even without having the deal. The area the bakery is in is a bit odd. It’s by a lot of automobile businesses and parking was a bit difficult(we came for lunch on a Wednesday) since it’s either park in the small lot behind or attempt to find street parking. Once you walk into the bakery/café, you will be so amazed by it’s lovely decorations! Luckily it wasn’t too crowded so we got to sit in one of the cute booths. Since I came with my 3 siblings, we got to try a lot of items: DRINKS: — Cumber Mint cold house drink: very refreshing! I love how it wasn’t too sweet and the flavors were not overpowering since it complemented my panini and dessert well. — Passionfruit Coconut creamed Italian soda: sweet, flavorful and bubbly! Couldn’t really taste the coconut and the flavor to me tasted like lychee. But it was still delicious — Peach Mango creamed Italian soda: I think I prefer this flavor combo over the passionfruit coconut. Both were sweet and bubbly though :) PANINI: — Turkey Basil Pesto: This was good, but nothing super special. My sister liked this a lot though — Roast Beef Pepper: Of the four panini’s we tried, I liked this the best. The flavors worked really well together. — The Queen’s Caprese: Very light and yummy. I liked it but my brother didn’t since he prefers meat in his food! — La Reina: This was pretty delicious. Very bold flavors. My sister said it tasted like a very expensive Arby’s sandwich… whatever that mean. LOL. I think she was referring to the flavors **We all loved the salad that came with the panini’s! It definitely was not your ordinary generic boring salad. YuM! DESSERT: — Chocolate Raspberry cupcake: I love the chocolate batter. It was not too sweet and moist. The texture and flavor was perfect. The raspberry frosting was good too. You can definitely tell they used real raspberries since the seeds were in it. It got a little too sweet for me but I just scrapped a little off and it went really well with the cupcake. — Tiramisu: This was my brother’s favorite. It was nicely made and had a good texture and flavors to it. Overall, we had a really good experience here and the food was pretty darn tasty. I love how their panini’s and drinks are delicious even though they specialize as a bakery. One of the owners even stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The girl at the front who took our order was very friendly and patient when we were trying to decide what to order. Also, we got a free medium hot coffee for checking in on Unilocal!Score! :) Definitely will be back when I’m in the area and I’m looking forward to trying the other desserts!

The short of it: — new cute bakery café! — delicious treats and drinks — resonably priced, $ 10 credit card minimum — not crowded, plenty of seating — Favs: chocolate raspberry cupcake, cucumber mint drink The long of it: Completely fell in love with this place, the décor, the treats, the menu, absolutely darling! This is a very very girly place, so don’t be alarmed when you see hot pink everywhere. I came here with some friends for some tea and sweets. I ended up ordering the cucumber mint drink and it was so good and refreshing. Highly recommend it! We shared a couple cupcakes and a cake ball so we could try a variety of what they had to offer. Everything was good! The ladies that work here were all so nice and accomodating. I’m definitely coming back and I wouldnt mind coming here on my own with a book to read. Nice place to just sit, relax, read and enjoy the atmosphere. Besides the drinks and sweets they also have a food menu, which I will definitely try next time.
