The Shark Club

The worst club I had ever been to. Heard they closed. Doesn’t surprise me. Last time
I was here I wanted to stab myself in the eye. Lots of snobby and rude people who give each other the stink eye. Horribly staffed and wannabes. They tried to come off as trendy but was ghetto in my eyes.

Shark Club used to be pretty fun and I would always vouch for them, but as seasons change, they have seriously degraded. Maybe that’s just me wanting to have a DECENT night.
It’s true what they say about security here. One specific guard ruined me and my friend’s night. Early on, she bought just a Coke. Note: She’s over age and I’m under. It was the flattest and weirdest coke we had ever had and I only two sips of it before the security guard with the spiky hair asked us to get outside. Another guard took my friend’s drink and threw it without even checking what it was or asking us. When we got outside, the spiky hair guard immediately said, «you shouldn’t be drinking.» I told him that it was just a plain coke and he still assumed it was alcohol (probably Bacardi and coke, idk???) by asking who bought the drink and which server gave it to us. He went back inside to ask our server and when he came back all he said was, «Okay, you can go back in.» No apology; that infuriated me. I really wish that I had gotten his name. The security guards think they can just assume someone was drinking and then act all high and mighty and try to kick you out.
The rest of the night sucked because of the mood he set and also because the music on Thursdays was not that great. Some weird ass was also venting to us about how he screwed his girlfriend’s sister, asked for a three way relationship, got broken up with, and then tried to justify it??? Well guess what? We were the first ones to leave… I will be taking my business to the Velvet Lounge, where they have better music, better NON-​ALCOHOLIC drinks, friendlier people and nicer guards.

Best place to go in oc for dancing and partying! I always have a blast on Friday nights. Go go boys are my favorite! Drag show! Every week is a new adventure! Usually they pass out glow stuff and prizes. I like the multiple locations inside one venue. If you get tired of who is around you then just go check out the other room. I love to check out the amazing outfits of both the staff and guests. Have fun!

This place is fun for a group of friends. The VIP is in a fun area, especially when they bring out the stripper pole DJ plays booty shakin music with a mix of electro on Thursdays for the College night. Love it! Not too packed, but just enough people to have a bangin party, with dance offs :)

So the owner contacted me and apologized for the staff’s lack of knowledge and even offered compensation. I will give this place another chance and see how things go next time.
Good customer service on owner’s part. Props to you.

Venue: Pretty nice inside! A bit worn down though. The couches have a lot of wear and tear though. The air ventilation in here is pretty bad in here. The place smells of B. O once it gets crowded.
The only thing I really didn’t like about this place was the sound system. It was terrible. We came to see Crizzly and I felt like I couldn’t enjoy the night because of the lack of bass. I hope they continue to book big DJs though.
Service: The security guards here are actually really nice and don’t come off as power tripping douche bags! I loved that.
The bartender was friendly as well except that he wouldn’t honor the Unilocal check in unless we brought a security guard to OK it because he wasn’t told about it :/​
Crowd: it’s 18+. not much you can say besides WTF. They allowed people to bring in GLOVES so people were getting light shows inside. So weird lmao

So I went here in a party bus for my first time for their pre-​Thanksgiving event to celebrate my 21^st birthday. BEWARE OF THE SECURITY GUARDS. They are douchebags who think they’re tough s*** so they take their job way too seriously.
My boyfriend & another one of our friends never even got let in the door. They had to wait outside the entire time. My friend & I ended up getting thrown out by security towards the end of the night «because we were drunk» & stepped in someone’s VIP.
The funny thing is I was told by the club promoter, Ruben, that I would have my own VIP table + a bottle as part of the party bus/​club package I had paid $ 500 for. No VIP table. No bottle.
It was actually a cool venue and I was having a great time, even with my boyfriend stuck outside, up until security ruined it for me. I remember the guard that dragged me out had an extremely tight grip on my arm, so I tried kicking him with my heel. I now have a ticket for battery and have to go to court. Mind you, I am a 95 pound female! Yes, I was drunk, but it was my 21ST BIRTHDAY for crying out loud! I was getting drinks from THEIR bar! I will never understand clubs. The security guards here are bullies and I will NEVER be back to this club & probably not any other one!

Smells like sewer inside… At first cover charge was $ 25 then they brought down to $ 5, why you asked? Cause no one was inside on a saturday night. No wonder they brought down the cover charge for $ 5. I just came because my friend thought it looked good, we were wrong. Really wrong
