Very good food. Gelato to die for. Lattes that taste yummy. Nice outdoors patio. Love going here.

Love the Camp, and this Italian spot has a café with tasty gelatos and coffee drinks, along with a full restaurant with homemade pastas. The food is fresh and the service is very good. Everyone is attentive! Hipster outdoor vibes.

The two stars are for the gelato which is decent. The negative three is for the breakfast. I decided to try breakfast here and was a little shocked how over– priced it was for its simplicity. Three egg omelette witch breakfast«potatoes» was 8.50. Not bad, but the catch is: if you want more than plain eggs it’s an additional dollar or two. My friends omelette was 18! Small plates and I literally received FOUR potatoes! Lol. I’ll make my way in for gelato one day, as far as food the simple taste is not worth the price.

Really enjoyed the selection. It was a very hot day and I was torn between frozen yogurt and ice cream. We ended up here upon recommendation from a friend. Perfect little patio area is what really made this place cool. I can’t wait to go back and try out the other flavors.

Craving ice cream and a place to check out. This place is located at the Camp across the Lab. Cute and clean inside. They have seating outside and the service was good. I liked how the workers spoke in Italian and made the feel of getting Italian ice cream more authentic. We got the 5 flights of ice cream. Its super bite size. Almost sample size. not sure if it’s worth it. Might as well just try the ones you want and get a scoop for the best bang for your buck. Also tried the ice cream sandwich. The flavor was rose something it was interesting. It looked like it was dipped in chocolate but it wasn’t. Not sure I’ll get it again. The best one was the Mint Ice Cream cone. Just get the cone/cup its worth it compare to the others.

Located inside The Camp, parking can be tough. But Vitaly has a really nice vibe to it, especially with the outdoor seating. The gelato is good, but portions are pretty small for what you pay. We got the sampler, which comes with 5 flavors in tiny cone cups… like seriously, they’re tiny. We asked the friendly worker to randomly choose 5 flavors for us that she thought was good, and she gave us mainly the«basic» flavors, but also gave us an extra flavor which was nice. The real standout flavor was Hazelnut. It tasted like a cold Ferrera Rocher! The sampler was cool to get some variety in, but I think I’d go for the regular serving sizes next time. Also got a Nescuccino(Nesquik + Cappuccino) on the side and I was actually quite disappointed with this one. I was extremely giddy and excited to try this new and unique drink, but it didn’t really bring out the flavor of the coffee at all, and the blend was a little chalky. Overall, a great date place to grab some ice cream after lunch. Good luck! Grab a seat outdoors next to the«fire pit.»

Their gelato is so good. I had their lavender one and one of their hazelnuts. By the time I finished their lavender one, I was full. I recommend their hazelnut ones, they have a couple.

Being from Italy I can say that this place makes the best gelato! I can’t get enough of it. The price is a bit much, since I’m used to paying 3 euro for a cone in which they stack giant scoops of gelato on. But I can’t complain all that much because I keep coming back! I even buy the pints to take home since I’m not a local. I haven’t tried very much of the other food since I mainly come for the gelato. I did try the tagliatelle with tomato sauce and it is the best I’ve had since I left Italy. I miss home so much and I can taste it when I eat their sauce. Perfetto!

I finally had the chance to try their food! Their pasta noodles are made in house and you can definitely tell into your first bite because there’s a freshness to the actual noodle! The sauces on the other hand, not so much. I got the fettuccine bolognese, which was good, but I knew the bolognese just needed to be scooped onto a fresh pasta plate and it was ready to go. That’s why it made sense that the food came out within 5 minutes of ordering! So with that respect, it’s pretty pricey for what you get. I still love their gelato though!

They got a variety of food here! Tea and coffee in the front, in the middle they have gelato and sweets and as well as pasta and other food. Got the tiramisu gelato which was yummy and the service here is really nice. Lady working behind the counter offered me many samples to try out!

The gelato texture was great and tasted similar to the ones I’ve had in Italy. Tradeoff was the flavor… the lavender honey one I sampled was fairly decent but not good enough to order, so I picked a «safe» flavor and went for salted caramel. Big mistake. It was the worst I’ve had and it seemed like they couldn’t get the right combination of the salted taste and the caramel taste. A-ok for the two flavors I tried, especially when it comes to something as delicious as gelato, means that I probably wouldn’t like the other flavors. Won’t be coming back!

Came here on a weeknight for dessert, and we ended up getting our own flavor of gelato. I went with the espresso café flavor in a cup, after sampling that and the tiramisu(there were at least a handful of other flavors I’d want to sample, so props for the variety here!). I always look for two things in a gelato: flavor intensity and that soft thickness that ice cream can’t duplicate. I’ll start with texture: spot on. There’s a fine line between delightful elasticity and eating a brick, and Vitaly stays on the right side of that line. It’s not that easy to do with such delicate temperature requirements! The flavor, on the other hand, was just a bit underwhelming. I wanted that patented Italian espresso punch to come through in my scoop, but instead it was just a solid, albeit mild, coffee gelato. Nothing wrong with that at all, and I enjoyed it a lot, but I feel like Vitaly could be bolder with that flavor. We ate outside the café at a bench in the Camp, but the café looked cute enough to sit inside for a coffee or something another time. Not sure I’d go here for a meal after reading other reviews, but I’d have another scoop if I’m in the area!

Very good coffee shop. Cannot speak for the gelato. I didn’t try any. Iced Americanos come heavy; 3 shots in a 12 oz and 4 in a 20 oz. The outside seating is fun. We sat by a cozy fire on comfy couches. Service was friendly and prompt. I particularly enjoyed the Mona Lisa holding a gelato cone and reading a one star review about there not being a lock on the bathroom door. How meta that reading Unilocal reviews about a place is becoming part of the dining experience itself for me. Anyway there is totally a lock on the bathroom door; I checked it out myself. In fact there is now(maybe because of JJ’s stupid review?) a sign that points at it.

I wrote a review for the Packing District location and realized I never wrote one for this location, hahah! This location is the original one, I believe and the setting is so pretty. I’m a little obsessed with outdoor cafes and this one is just so nice! The Choccocino is one of my favorite drinks here and I always seem to buy it to go or to drink it here with some dessert. It’s a perfect combo of Nutella and chocolatey goodness! They even swirl the chocolate syrup around the cup! So pretty! Perfect for my sweet tooth self! They also sell mini gelato flights that are just too cute! Was perfect to share with my sister one day so we got to sample four tasty flavors! The area is not too cold or too windy and the light is just right. It’s a perfect place to relax! The noodles are a little pricy but super tasty. They always taste made to order and the noodles are handmade yummies! They use fresh ingredients and I believe everything here is from a good source, hence the price! I did have one bad experience where my drink order took forever, but overall my experience here is great!

Cute Café/Baker at The Camp. My GF actually came in here to order coffee and I was just sitting and waiting for her when I decided to check it out on Unilocal.First highlight was«Gelato Flight» and I had to get me some! The Gelato Flight is perfect for those indecisive people or for those that want to try multiple flavors. It costs about $ 6 and change so its not too bad, Each Gelato Sample comes with its own mini cone. The tiny scoops fit perfectly in each cone. I got the Pistachio, Hone Lavender, Oreo, Salted Caramel and some Chocolate and Banan combo. The Gelato itself is just okay — pretty average. But I like the cool idea of Gelato Flights! Service was pretty friendly over at the Gelato side but my GF said the baristas for her coffee were meh.

Vitaly, you guys have won my heart. It’s an Italian coffee shop, restaurant, and gelato all mixed in one. I don’t give five stars out too often, but this place definitely deserves more than five stars. I’m a huge fan of you guys. Parking was not an issue(inside the Camp in Costa Mesa) but the café was a little difficult to find at first. The exterior was gorgeous, but my goodness, the interior was even better. It’s colorful and bright(bringing the mood up), trendy and hip, and they have a couch where you can just relax and have great vibes with friends and family. The interior design is simply beautiful. There are numerous of tables and chairs indoor and outdoor as well. I got their large Iced Americano($ 4.10 including tax), and it was delicious. They use Filicori Zecchini coffee beans from Italy and it’s one of the best Americanos I’ve ever had. Tasted very smooth, rich, and flavorful. I highly recommend this drink to all you coffee lovers who aren’t really into sweet coffee. I was pretty hungry so I decided to order their Piadamera Piadina(organic flat bread Italian sandwich). It was pretty pricey($ 10.69 including tax), but the quality of the sandwich was on point. It has low sodium turkey meat with avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce with a little bit of mayonnaise inside. I was very satisfied with the meal and I’m excited to try their other sandwiches the next time I come to visit. Last but not least, their service. All of the staff members here are so friendly and helpful. They were patient with me(I asked a lot of questions) and they all had smiles on their faces. I had the chance of meeting the owners and they were awesome. There was a moment when the wifi(free wifi btw) stopped working and they quickly fixed the problem. They were actually pretty worried about me and my friend because the wifi limited us from our studying and they kept asking if the wifi was working or not(like seriously, who does that?!). Only flaw I witnessed was that they were limited in outlets and it’s not so much of a study environment but rather a chill place to hang out with friends. Regardless, thank you guys so much for making me feel so comfortable at your guys’ place! Overall, I had a fantastic experience and I seriously love this place. I’m going to recommend this place to all my friends.

Good variety of gelato. Great consistency too, not too airy like those in Italy catered to the American tourists. it has a nice density to it with a silky texture… mmmmmm. Good Americano too. :)

Vitaly… is quite the place to check out… A restaurant, coffee shop, and ice cream/gelato place all in one. They really make an effort to make this an all-in-one restaurant/café/whatever/idk what to call it tbh. I’ve been here twice and tried their gelato flight and the affogato(you can use whatever ice cream… I strongly recommend honey lavender!). I wouldn’t get the gelato flight again, although it is aesthetically super cayoote. It melts too fast and it’s too tiny. Literally bite sized. If you take your sweet ass time, it will melt away and you’ll be left with soggy waffle/bread. But jesus… the affogato was just so gloriously heavenly. Really really good. Kind of small for the price you pay, but it was just so worth it. I would get it again. :3 The whole combination of Italian espresso + honey + hints of herbal goodness called lavender = one of the tastiest things evar. The whole ambience/interior/“outside” seating is really quaint, peaceful, and noice. Oh, and pretty good for studying… if you don’t need outlets or wifi. So just bring some notes/a book and you’re good to go. :)

Friends and I wanted to do Happy Hour at Mesa and I arrived early so I wandered around the CAMP, which was how I found this place. Located at the opposite end of Mesa, where all the little shops are located, it is right next to a little coffee shop where they have indoor and outdoor seating. Initially, I didn’t want to ruin my appetite before heading to HH, but that was then I saw their GELATOFLIGHT option which is basically 6 little scoops of the various gelato flavors on top of little ice cream sugar cones. When I saw this, of course I had to give in just to TRY! It was definitely a hit and miss for me after choosing my flavors, but it was enough to satisfy my sweetness craving without having too much of one flavor and feeling like I was missing out on the others. I didn’t order any of their other foods but I did note that they majority served sandwiches and salads. Other things I noticed: 1) Vitaly has been participating in the OC Restaurant Week every year — so a good opportunity to get a prix fix meal at a decent price if you want to try it out! 2) The coffee shop next door has a walk way accessible in between the shops so you can actually order from both places and they will drop your drinks out to you while eating your food /ice cream as well. 3) Indoor seating is a little tight with tables and chairs placed pretty close to each other in the small shop. Outdoor seating is more spacious with heat lamps and if you’re lucky, right next to the open fire pit in the middle. Overall, not a bad place to try out if you’re at the CAMP just waiting for your party to show up.
