Bourbon’s BBQ and Steaks

I have been to Bourbon’s multiple times and the food had always been excellent! It is a little pricey and usually the service is above par. For a special event it’s a great choice and my guests and I have never been disappointed.

My family and I were driving from Colorado to Michigan and we booked a hotel on Expedia in Council Bluffs, IA. We arrived and discovered our hotel was attached to the Ameristar Casino. After driving for 8 hours we didn’t want to get back in the car for dinner so we walked over to the casino in search of food. Our hopes weren’t that high.
We decided on Bourbon’s BBQ (one of the three restaurants in the casino). I ordered a half rack of St. Louis BBQ ribs and the rest of the table had salad and filet mignon. The ribs were cooked perfectly – the meat literally fell off the bones and I was able to eat it all easily with a knife and fork – not usually the case with ribs! The filet mignon was perfectly cooked (rare). Our sides were asparagus and sweet mashed potatoes and both were delicious and well cooked!
The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Saturday night but our server was friendly and attentive. And best of all, we had two entrees (with one side each), two cocktails, and a salad for under $ 70! Had a great experience and I highly recommend this place to my fellow carnivores!

First off i want to point out the amount of lighting at night in the restaurant, it is pitch black. Food was asked for and was given in a time span of an hour. Our waiter was very rude, and last of all the steak was a whole other story. Take a look

Overall our experience and meal was mediocre for the amount of money spent. I probably will not visit again.

After reading the negative review I was concerned about this restaurant. My husband and I wanted to walk from our hotel and enjoy a nice steak dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! He loved his New York strip steak. And my petite fillet with mushrooms was mouth watering. So tender and flavorful. The wedge salad had delicious blue cheese and tasty bacon. Warm atmosphere and friendly service. I would recommend this restaurant!

Expensive YESSSS…
The food were average nothing to brag about. So many completion around you would think they will hire a chef who can cook the real foods. Food taste cold and old.
Money well wasted. Stay away and check out other places near by.
Will not return…

Outstanding experience! Pork chops were done to perfection (especially enjoyed seeing tart presentation) & the baked rolls were a treat in themselves!
My waitress (Melissa) was well informed, very pleasant and steared me towards the perfect meal! I have no idea what their steaks or barbecue is like (they offer it both ways), but will certainly be back to try!
