Entertainment at the country in the river was great. However, $ 20 a day to park is ridiculous. We also were out in the truck cooling off between shows because it was very hot, and we were told with the wristband you can go in and out as you please. But, security knocked on our window saying we couldn’t because vendors were losing money by people drinking in the car. It was obvious we were out there too cool off. Maybe you should tell people they can’t come and go if that’s not the case. No drinks were even around us by the way. Then, to make things even better, our truck was hit and run in the parking lot. With all the sheriffs and«security» around, you would think after paying that much to park you vehicle would be safe. Ugh. Very very disappointed. Doubt we will go back next year.

A typical amphitheater located outside of Council Bluffs, IA. I’ve been to several shows here over the years. What you are allowed to take inside the venue depends on the show. Be sure to check before hand, as common items such as blankets and cameras may not be allowed. There are plenty of places to sit in the grass surrounding the stage, and there is a large area to stand if you wish to get closer to the show. The acoustics are okay here. Not great, but not terrible. Vendors, types of beverages, and prices will depend on the show. I’ve paid anywhere from $ 5-$ 7 for 16 ounce domestics at various shows. There is a large gravel area where vendors typically set up. The restroom situation is usually portapottys. There is one small cement building that has a few toilets, but depending on the size of the show, this area may be blocked off. Parking is a bit of a cluster here for larger shows, such as Rockfest and River Riot. Most of the time, you will be required to park in a large field around the back of the amphitheater area. If you arrive early, you will be stuck at the back part of the field. That’s not a problem, but getting out sure is. I’ve been stuck in the parking lot for as long as three hours due to a bottleneck effect. There is only one lane leading out of the parking area, which leads to a country road, then the highway, and finally to the interstate. If you plan on going to a show early, be wise and pack a cooler. Chances are that you will be waiting a long time to get out of the venue and will want something to drink or eat. However, be forewarned that this venue is often secured by off-duty Highway Patrol. They will occasionally enforce the«no tailgating» policy. Keep your open containers hidden!
