This place is great! I compare the burgers to Red Robin’s stuff. Yes it can take some time to get your food if there’s a couple of orders prior to yours but it’s worth the wait. The prices are as expected for a small town with no real competition other than the tavern across the street.

Imagine a town without a McDonald’s. Cove Drive In is a small, family-owned fast food restaurant located in Cove, rural, picturesque town just across the valley from La Grande. Cove used to produce a lot of cherries, and still hosts the Cove Cherry Festival every summer. It’s an interesting cross section of artists, retirees, Mennonites. Other than the steak house, the drive in is the only other eating establishment in town that I know of — so it’s often a bit busy. You’ll have a pretty long wait for your burger, fries and shake, since it’s usually run by two people. Everything is made to order.
