Captain Nemo’s Submarine Sandwich Shop

I love everything on their menu. Have been going for years the staff will try to remember the regulars names.

Best sandwich shop around. I’ve been going for 25 years. Fish & Chips are fabulous. Prices great too.

After reading several positive reviews, and my endless search for a good sandwich shop still raging, I stopped in for a late lunch at Captain Nemo’s. Located at the. End of a strip mall containing a closed bar and a thriving bar and pizza joint, it’s easy to see why I’ve driven past it hundreds of times.
The interior is best down and old. With a «seafood» theme it actually makes sense for it to be adorned with old wood etc, so I didn’t let that sway me.
The cashier looked at me with a blank stare. So I initiated the conversation with a «how’s it going» … But to no avail. So I proceeded to order. Kept it simple as I like to do at new places with a large roast beef and some fries. I paid… Waited… Went over to the counter after my sandwich had been sitting there for a few… Said my thank you and walked out.
The good: it was a good sized sandwich. They cut into 4 so it was easy to manage without lettuce and meat dripping all over me on the car.
Unfortunately, that’s about it.
The bad: the meat was pre-​sliced alla subway. Thick cut, but not rare (like thick roast beef should be). The fries looked delicious but were overpowered by the taste of fish. I’m guessing they only have one fryer to use for both sides and fish dishes.
Also, the roll was on between soft and hard leading me to believe it was old. Give me one or the other… None of this in-​between stuff.
It’s unfortunate because I heard many good things about their fresh sandwiches and making much of their food in-​house.
The search continues. Can’t someone open up a Brent’s Deli around here already?!

By far the best seafood in Coventry. Their fish & chips are way better then any other around. I have been going here since I was a kid and it’s been consistently good with the same people working since forever. I advise calling way ahead on a Friday for the seafood because it can get crowded in there with not much standing room which can get awkward. just sayin :)

Captain Nemo’s is a small place that has been here for decades! Al makes the BEST soup in Coventry! My daughters and I come here for sandwiches and soup, and truly homemade dinners. The food is always fresh, the bread is delicious, and when you need some ‘comfort food’, it will be available here!

My family and I get sandwiches from Nemos once a month or so. We love how fresh their bread is.
Our favorite item at Nemos is the light battered fish and chips. Excellent!
Stop in and try them some time.

I haven’t been to Captain Nemo’s for a long time so when I went there I ordered fish n chips, let me say there prices are reasonable especially for two pieces of fish, it wasn’t too greasy either so I was very happy and I will go back there again soon.

Small place, nice workers, good reasonable prices.
