A visit to The Grateful Gypsy feels like wondering into a wonderfully decorated tent at your favorite hippie festival. Good tunes jamming, intoxicating aroma filling the room, and tons of trinkets, jewelry, good smelling body care items, and clothing to sift through till you find a piece or two that speaks to you. I purchased a unique hair band for a friend, one for myself, and a whittled wooden elephant incense holder. Love all my treats and will definitely be back for some more gifts!

The Grateful Gypsy is a brand new business located in the heart of downtown Coventry. Set among older New England style buildings, this new baby should pull in those curious in regards to the hippy side of boutique local business. And Grateful Gypsy does just that. Upon entering, I was transformed back into the 60’s. The sights, the smells, so many colors to look at. Where should I go first? Sheila, the owner and friendly face behind the counter makes the jewelry(and how beautiful it is). She also stocks a few clothing stands that hold gorgeous organic cotton tanks and blouses. Bikers — come one and all. She’s got a plethora of bandanas! Soy lotions and soaps, candles, vanity license plates for all you Dead Heads. I was in awe of how this tiny place felt so roomy yet held SO much product. The Grateful Gypsy will be around for a long while. This is just the type of boutique business this town needs and Sheila is just the person to make it happen. Happy Birthday, TGG. You’ll be celebrating many more I think…
