I dont understand why this place got such horrible reviews. Its a taco spot not Mastros steakhouse. The tacos are some of the best tacos ive had anywhere. The pepino drink i had was amazing. Me and my wife ordered 3 tacos each and had to order more because they were so good. Sure they are small but theyre 85 cents and packed with the tastiest meat..

Food’s so so, service could be better. Cashier guy’s a little slow. The Tacos were so small. I got the asada, chicken, and pastor. Also got the chicharon canasta which they claimed to be bigger than the tacos, same size as the tacos. Went to this place to try it because it’s around our block. Food’s not bad, service is slow, overall won’t be coming back here.

My fav place for taco Tuesday’s. You have to dine in for the 85cent tacos, but there’s a great view of this busy little town.

Yum Yum Yum. Family owned business and they know how to cook. The meat is tender. Beans are perfect. Salsa’s are delicious and they even have a habanero salsa. Staff is super friendly and they ask for feedback. The prices are very much reasonable considering the Downtown corner location. I came here on a whim, and was very pleased with my find. I will def eat here again when I’m in the area.

Just stopped by for a late lunch and ordered an array of food to try for the first time. First up their tacos. We had the carne asada, lengua and al pastor. The lengua was not flavorful at all. Very bland but the other two were good. Next was the Milanesa plate which comes with rice and beans. Meat had good flavor and my husband loved it! Two thumbs up! The plate also came with handmade tortillas which were sooo good! We also ordered their 2 fish tacos for $ 5 and they were excellent! By far the best out of all the food we ordered. Over all we thought the prices were reasonable(paid $ 21 for all the food including a large orchata), portions were standard and service was quick(we were the only ones there though). However, I did think it was weird that their menu was only in Spanish. Definitely bad for business. I also witnessed the«chef» licking her fingers as she was walking back into the kitchen to make food for a customer that had just ordered. Ummm… I hope she washed her hands. Despite this we’ll be coming back for sure!

My wife went to there and I thought to give them another chance. Long story short she caught the young guy who works there eating and licking his fingers. He did not wash his hands when he handed her the food. Could you trust he washes his hands when he comes out of the restroom.

Great Food had the Mojarra Frita(Whole fried Fish) 7.95! It was really good, just a tiny bit salty for my taste; but nothing some lime couldn’t handle. They also gave 2 fish tacos for $ 5. Yummy in my tummy

Picked up some tacos for dinner last night, carne asada, al pastor and berria. I had them to go so when I got them they were covered up with aluminum foil so I couldn’t see them. Upon arriving home and removing the foil I discovered that the tacos were very light on the meats, not much at all to be exact. The carne asada was a bit dry but tasty. The al pastor and berria didn’t have much of a taste difference, I don’t know if they made a mistake and gave me the same kind of one meat. I would eat here again, but if it’s to go I would definitely remove the foil before leaving.

Wanted tacos and tortas. Food was really good and fresh, portions smaller than I expected but I will definitely go back! Suggest more Agua selection but my son said the guava water was good. I had the mild salsa which for me was spicy which means most wouldn’t think so. Impressed that guacamole was made fresh and very tasty! Want to try the Gorditas next visit!

I wish i could give this place 0 stars!!! Because it does not even deserve 1! I came here today after i got off work. I work close by and was hungry and decided to give this place a shot. I have lived in covina all my life and have always passed by this place. First off, the customer service was one of the worst i’ve ever had. The teenage guy working in the front catered to everyone but myself. He was busy watching soccer on the tv and talking to other guys in the restaurant who were eating. He kept talking to the other guys about how the game was. I tried to ask questions since the whole menu was in Spanish, and he did not care to help whatsoever. I got 2 beef hard tacos that were over FREAKING $ 2+ dollars each! They were about the size of a small child’s palm – thats how small they were! And they didn’t even have that much meat inside! What a freaking rip off!(See my pictures that i posted on here) After waiting 10 minutes for 2 damn tacos,(btw other people were getting their food before mine) he didn’t want to give me much salsa! It was my first time there and i asked for 2 green salsas and 2 red salsas. RUDELY, the man said with attitude: «i can’t give you that much salsa. You only got 2 tacos!» Sir, some people deserve to get salsa if they pay for your over-priced stupid tacos! Also, after i ordered my tacos, i asked for containers to get my salsa ready. The man said«oh i have them packaged and ready back here.» After i got my tacos, he said«oh i don’t have any red salsa’s, can you get some?» This place is a joke! Look at all the horrible reviews on here. i should have listened to other people who wrote about this business on here. Save your money, this business does not deserve it! They do not care about the customers, let alone do they even know what customer service is! Go to taco bell down the street! That would have been a better and smarter choice! Went in to get some breakfast before work, had huevos rancheros and agua de melon. The food was out in about ten minutes, which is fairy speedy considering the two people who had just ordered ahead of me. The food was fantastic and my eyes were certainly bigger than my stomach because I left feeling more than satiated. The staff was smiley, accommodating, and certainly welcoming, so you can bet I’ll be coming back. I’d also like to make note of their tortillas, which I felt were more authentic than most other restaurants.

This review is only for the al pastor quesadilla. It was just one hot oily mess. It was absolutely revolting. The flour tortilla was literally soaked and drenched in the hot oil and I could see nothing else. It wasn’t a cheesy delicious quesadilla. It was a blurb of oil, oil, and more oil along with a small portion of meat and cheese. Nasty. Other than that ridiculousness of a quesadilla, the agua fresca melon was out of this world good! Other items are delicious as well, they are quite famous for their tacos and their sopes are BOMB. Go try those you won’t regret it. But they surely need to work on improving that al pastor quesadilla. It shall remain a one star until I see some improvement. It was just wrong…

Went during lunch hour. The place had just a handful of customers. I ordered a burrito and my girl ordered 3 potatoe tacos. An hour later they bring out our food and at that moment I have to run out to move my car because I was parked in a 1hr only spot. Finally, I get back to eat my food. My burrito was supposed to be a Carne Asasda burrito with no rice. The burrito was tiny and I was ¾ into it and still no meat… this burrito was nothing more than a cold tortilla with all beans. My girl told me to tell them as it seemed that they forgot to warm up the tortilla and put meat. So this is my review and NO I do not recommend this place. Even Taco Bell has better burritos.

Second time here. Better than the first. Homemade everything. The homemade corn tortillas, horchata, tamarindo, salsas, etc. They don’t seem to have operations down yet; takes a while to get your food and they run out of things, but they run out because everyone likes it.

Trying to talk to someone on the phone was the first horrible thing I experienced from El Bukanas. The phone got handed to multiple employees until someone finally understood I was asking if they had taquitos. Apparently this mexican food place doesn’t know what taquitos are, much less sell them. Ended up ordering asada tacos and chips and salsa/guacamole. The 75 cent tacos are the size of an infant’s hand. I thought I’d eat two(since that is how many I USUALLY order) but after getting them I realized I could have eaten more like five. The guacamole was brown on top, so clearly they had it sitting around all day. The actual green parts of the guacamole turned brown within about 5 minutes of the lid being off, so I guess they don’t use fresh avocados either. And the chips… oh, the chips. They are homemade-style fried tortillas broken into chips. My box of chips was half burnt and the other half was still greasy… as in greasy to the point that 3 – 4 chips were suctioned together by the grease. Eating the chips was like chewing gum or rocks depending on the chip I picked up. The salsa: they only have green salsa. No red salsa. Thought green salsa would be hot but it actual only made the wet chips wetter with its lack of flavor and abundance of water. Icky. Overall, a really terrible experience. Can guarantee I won’t go back and will make sure no one I care about eats there either.
