Manalese Dental

I will never come back to this place again. People in the front are very stupid. They don’t know what they’re doing. Also don’t ever buy the oral-​b tooth brush. They say you get a rebate inside the box to mail in but when you open the box there’s no rebate. I had to go back to the office to pick it up. The next day I had to go back to the dental office again because I needed the receipt that shows the total of the tooth brush. They printed the receipt but all my personal information were there. I asked them to just give me my total without any of my info. I even asked them if they can copy and paste it. Front office desk person said she couldn’t do that and that I have to wait the next day for the person in charge to do it. It’s very frustrating driving back and forth and very inconvenient for me especially when I have to get to the hospital everyday because of my mom’s deteriorating state. I never hated a dental place before but this is on top of my list.

I waited until my 2 kids had their cleanings to review. I still need to have mine.
Long story short, my dental insurance changed and I got a HMO. What a headache, because my regular dentist, and 90% of the dentists I called, do not take HMO only PPO. Finally I found Manalese, but some Unilocal reviews made me pause a bit. But when I called the office, they could not have been more pleasant and accommodating, fitting our checkups in on a SUNDAY!
So, yes, after the checkups, I was ushered into the financial room, and given a laundry list of things I need: deep cleaning, $ 150.00 toothbrush, rinses, antobiotics, all out of pocket expenses. After I politely informed the gal I am on a single income and have 3 kids, conveying the message that I don’t have $$ for a lot of the extras, there was no hard sell.
My kids got their cleanings, very quickly, thankfully, and off we go.
I recommend Manalelse. If you can’t pay for extras, tell them. If you don’t like to wait, ask them for the first appointment after they open. I saw them as very accommodating and kind, the dentist seemed knowledgable, the office is clean and modern, the equipment is really cool. (Computerized xray, photos of your chompers on screen)
And, they accept HMO.

Being our first time here This place is one of the best experience and so friendly dentist that I have been to so far. And my daughter loves it and wasn’t scared at all. Thanks to Suny Apodaca and all the other friendly staff there. We will continue on going back here for all of our visits. Amazing people! 100% A+++++

Can somebody tell me how much a deep cleaning really is?! Manalese dental is quoting us $ 800+ for it. They also added extras like antibiotic that I don’t think I really needed! I asked other people and they said that that’s how they get money from you. Im not coming back here. Beware and run!

Best service and follow up. Dr. Manalese is nice and gives you different alternatives for your care. You truly have control over your own treatment with no pressure from the dentist. I trust him completely. Office is nice, spacious, and clean. Equipment is clean and staff is friendly. Plenty of parking. Easy checkin process. Automatic texting on your cell phone to confirm your appointment.

I came here due to the good reviews but what a mistake! I have a headache just thinking about them! My daughter and I went in for a check up. Everything went well. The DA who did the X-​rays was great and so was the dentist who did the exam. She said I had two cavities and my daughter one. The dental hygienist came in and said I had gum disease and needed to get a deep cleaning or my teeth would fall off. Later the billing lady came in and said my daughters filling would cost 155 although I have insurance. They said they don’t do silver fillings only porcelain and my insurance does not cover that. THEN she talks about my deep cleaning and needing to have that done in three separate visits. She said my insurance does not cover deep cleanings and it would cost me almost four grand!!! I was like WTF??? She broke down the bill and it even included a 150 dollar electronic tooth brush. I wanted to laugh in her face. Are these people crazy??? I don’t shit money. I asked the dentist «what do I absolutely need because this is too much.» She said I needed everything. I said fuck you all and left. Now I’m looking for another dentist who will not try to mess with my money. Hit me up if you know a great dentist who takes HMO.

Perfect experience! So happy I found a reputable, clean, and professional dental office. Totally looking forward to my next teeth cleaning.

The staff is really nice. Like that they call and text just to make sure coming in. I did not wait that long. I just got a check like how they explained things to and showed you. The billing they also explain and gave me list what’s what and choices and told a way help with a payment. Staff are friendly

We have a new dental insurance provider so I had to choose a new dentist. I found this office on Unilocal and decided to give them a try. I made appointments for my three children, we arrived on time, filled out paper work and waited for an hour for the first of my three children to be called.
We ended up spending THREE hours there just for check ups and cleanings.
I was told that the long wait had to do with emergency walk ins, but I watched other people with appointments come and go while we waited. I’ve taken my kids to other dental offices and we have been in and out in no time.
We will NOT be back!

Double check your bill! Came in on Sunday and found out I needed 2 root canals. Dentist was pretty cool and so was the young man assisting him, however the 2 ladies at the front desk have no idea what they’re doing. After adding up the work I needed I could hear the other receptionist questioning the amount I was being charged. For 2 root canals I was told $ 530 I questioned it since I have insurance and I know it shouldn’t be that much. After showing them paperwork saying my out of pocket should only be $ 45 per tooth she finally went back and actually checked. How many other people have they over charged that haven’t questioned it. Older Filipina lady at the front desk is the reason I won’t be going back. rude and doesn’t know how to do her job.

It was my first time here and they got me in and out real quick; x-​rays, and teeth cleaning all in one sitting. I had to go leave for class by 215, my appointment was at 1, and I was done by 2:10.
Very professional and nice staff, (everyone complemented me on my eyelashes because they are so long). Everyone was very welcoming and genuinely interested in in me as a client and my dental concerns, my questions were answered immediately and I have no doubts. Overall very good service, I am happy with my teeth cleaning, they made me feel fresh and new again! Definitely recommend this dental office.

It is a Sunday and I swear every dentist appointment I could find was closed. I finally found Manalese, I called them in tears because my toothache was so bad and needed to be filled! They took me in immediately, I was sitting in the dentist chair being helped by a dental assistant practically as soon as I walked in the door! My tooth feels so much better, reasonable prices, and very friendly staff. This is definitely my new primary dentist, they’re awesome! Definitely recommend.

Really good to my mom, who can be a handful. She had to have 18 teeth removed for dentures. They made sure she was comfortable and didn’t feel a thing! She’s a trooper, they let me sit outside the room for moral support, I left after the first extraction! Very patient and kind staff. My brother and I are helping mom with some of the costs, we called right into the office to help her with the payments and they took the payment right over the phone.
Very clean office, entire staff professional and kind, but my moms favorite is the young guy who makes the dentures. He was really sweet to her

Great Service. Well maintained and trained staff. Always friendly and willing to work with you. Got veneers done here and they were in and out quickly and did an excellent job.

I’ve been here a few times over the past couple years. I have to agree with other reviewers, they definitely make you wait. I’m not sure if they are over-​scheduling appointments or what, but I had to wait 30 minutes for my appt. I especially don’t appreciate this considering I kept my same appointment date and time that I had scheduled with them at my previous appointment, six months prior.
I have a dental discount program that I pay to join, and Jonny and the dentist agreed to join the program, which I thought was really awesome of them to do. They are in the process of it. So I receive discounted pricing based on this program I’m a member of. The only problem is the girl at the front desk treated me like they were doing me a huge favor, implying that normally they wouldn’t accept this program, and actually told me that if they were trying to join this program she would know, because she’s the one that handles things like that. I was quite taken aback by her rude attitude towards me, very condescending. I made sure to talk with Jonny about this, he assured me they are in the process of joining, and said he would talk her about how she talked to me. Hopefully she will treat other patients with respect and not make them feel like she made me feel that day.
Chelsea cleaned my teeth when I went last week, and I think she did a better job than whoever cleaned them before. My teeth still felt dirty last time. But Chelsea made sure to use the scaler and the instruments, to get anything the scaler left behind. I appreciated this, despite that it made my cleaning more traumatic for me, as I am terrified of the dentist. She was very friendly and personable. I hope they keep her around.
I had another sealant put on at this visit too, which was quick and painless with the guy who did it this time. I had one put on before here with a female, and she made a mistake which resulted in a small wound near my mouth. Much better this time around.
This appointment was for an exam, cleaning, and x-​rays. I was surprised when the dentist wasn’t going to actually examine my teeth. They told me that he looked at my x-​rays in the other room and said everything was fine. This is not okay with me, and should not be okay with any dental patient. I made sure he came in and actually looked at my teeth. I understand they were busy, but skipping steps is not okay when it comes to the health of their patient’s teeth.
So far I believe this office is honest; meaning I don’t think they are trying to do fillings when people don’t need them… which I believe is quite common in the dental industry, and something I definitely want to avoid. They aren’t perfect, and they definitely have a few areas of improvement, but overall I am satisfied with this dental office and I will continue to come here.
ps: The office here is very nice, but the bathroom down the hall in this old building is quite disgusting. So go before you get here if you can.

My first visit here was very smooth, welcoming and friendly. The staff all have a great personality & made it easy to talk and get to know each other. The staff was very professional & made me want to stick around. They were very gentle & made sure I wasn’t in any pain or had any discomfort at any time during their procedures. Lucky for me, I had no cavities (Floss & brush guys!) The office is located on the second floor & there is plenty of street parking in the front of the building.
Unfortunately the second visit was a bit more of a headache. I had to reschedule it a few times prior to my visit. The reason why I deducted a star was because I woke up early on a Sunday to find out that I wasn’t even scheduled in. I was surprised & upset that they did not have me scheduled. That meant I was up early on Sunday morning for nothing! I also checked my voicemail so I knew I was correct on time & date. They then realized that it was their mistake & kindly apologize. They handled the situation very professionally & in a timely manner. I did reschedule but for a different weekend since they wanted me to come in at a later time that same Sunday but I had plans. The staff at Manalese did call me back to confirm later the rescheduled appointment. If for what ever reason you yourself want to check up on your visit time, don’t hesitate to call to make sure its scheduled in.
This last visit I showed up at 9:05, my appt was at 9am. To my surprise there was no one sitting in the front desk but I signed in & waited until almost 9:25 when I ask someone in the back about how much longer I would have to wait to be seen since my appt was scheduled at 9am. I am NOT a morning person but if I have an appt in the morning, & you guys open the office at 9, I do not know why I have to wait that long before being seen. After asking how much longer I would have to wait, the tall guy that works there said that they were having a «meeting» & it would take a few more minutes. I could clearly over hear them talking about personal matters rather than work Soon after I asked, they took me in & I was already upset since I had other appts to be at & now I was going to be late. I ended up being seen 30 min after my appt was actually scheduled. If that’s going to be the case, then might as well schedule me in at 9:30 so I can be seen on time rather than be waiting in the lobby. I did the morning appt thinking that I would be the first customer so I shouldn’t wait too long before being seen. I did talk to Dr. Manalese about it & informed him about this matter since it seems to happen a lot in this office (delays on you appts. Once I waited an hr before I was seen, that is unacceptable). This is where the second star was deducted. If I have an appt at a certain time, I expect to not wait longer than 10+ min to be seen or if for one reason or another I have to wait, please be kind and inform your customers.
I go about my day based on a schedule. Time is very important & valuable to me. I don’t like to waste time & I don’t like my time wasted either. I hope they can get better at this since it is not the first time that I have to wait longer than 15 min to be seen. If they were having some sort of «meeting», please inform your customers or have someone in the front desk. I would assume if some sort of meeting is being held, the meetings would be held prior to having a customer scheduled in & coming in for their appt. Perception is key and walking in & not even having someone in the front desk, is very unprofessional. The conversations they were having were also a bit unprofessional (I get it that we all like to have fun and joke around but I was sitting in their lobby for 15+minutes & I had to get their attention before even being acknowledge. hm?!)
On the positive, I noticed that they now have an online email service in which they remind you & allow you to confirm your appts without having to call them. This allowed me to confirm my appt from the convenience of my desk. I am not able to always pickup my phone therefore this helped me confirm it right away. Their rooms are clean, spacious, have lots of light coming in. The sweet girl that cleans my teeth is professional, friendly, gives you advice, & is very cautious in not hurting you in the process. She wants to make sure your experience is comfortable and pain free. She makes me feel comfortable & answers all my questions. They also provided me a FREE teeth whitening. Over all & aside the delays on being seeing for your appts, this place isn’t too bad. I will stick around as long as they don’t keep delaying me so much. Dr. Manalese is really nice & is now aware of the problems. Hopefully it gets better since I really like the convenience of their office being open on Sundays, being close to home & the dentist being very nice.

Appointment, and time management is something this team really needs to work on. Between my wife and I, our appointments has always been late. Our worst experience was up to an hour of waiting. What are appointments for if you end up wasting so much extra time? However, the overall staff is nice and Joel Manalese does care about his patients. Due to the time management, we are considering another dental location.

I was looking for a family dentist, some place where they were kid friendly but yet didn’t charge the specialist prices. I am glad to have found Manalese! The office is clean and the rooms are bright, lots of natural light. They have modern processes and offer free teeth whitening! Woohoo! My 8 yr old had some cavities to be filled… the Dentist and his staff were calming and also educated her on cavity prevention, aka let Mommy help brush! So now the three of us have been seen by the dentist… and nobody hates going… the prices are decent, and they offer payment options. One appointment they were running behind and they actually called me to let me know… very kind and considerate of them! Give them try!

great dentist. Doc Manalese is great, took care of my toothache fast. He’s very sensitive to your needs, so giving me extra injections to numb me up was great. unlike some dentists that refuse to numb you up proper before drilling.
the best part, they are open Sundays. so they can accommodate to busy people that work during the week!
