Great food!!! Rice and beans are the best hands down first time and will be back with my family!!! Service was great and our food came fast

This place sucks. Not one good thing about it. Service is non-​existent and food is subgrade. Save yourself the money and time and don’t come here.

I really wanted to give «0» stars, and giving «1» star is really a high remark for this terrible place! So, to start off they bring you chips and salsa that are beyond bad … the salsa tastes like they poured hot sauce in a bowl and added cilantro … the chips tasted like pure grease that had been used over and over. I had the Quesadillas which were soggy and tasteless, the Mexican rice tasted like it was sitting there and had been microwaved, and the refried beans had a salty taste. I don’t understand how you can mess up Mexican food so bad. I will NEVER come back here again!

Have gone about four more times since leaving that last review and it is delicious. My entire family loves it. Recommend the Carne Asada, which I think is Spanish for «tasteful mouth explosion»

This is my first time here and last time here. I’ve been at the bar for 15min waiting to order but the bartender seems like it’s more important to socialize with regulars and show off his Peptobismol to his friends. All this is totally fine but when there are customers, serve them! Damn! So not happy with this dude.

If that bartender is up here, I wonder who’s running hell! I recommend avoiding her like the plague if possible. The hostess was incredibly nice on the other bumped them to a 3. My pregnant wife and I stopped by cause she had an immediate and sudden craving for chips and queso dip. Bartender told us she could take our order, then finding that we were only ordering those things made us walk to the other side of the restaurant because it wasn’t big enough for her to waste her time. Will probably not come back and definitely don’t recommend their bar. Explains why it’s empty though!

Dirty dishes not friendly staff and the food went downhill, definitely won’t be back.

Food and décor is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Covington.

I used to really like this place but it’s definitely gone down hill. Food was just so-​so when we went last Saturday, and our server (Hugo C) was useless. We barely saw the guy, had to wait forever for him to come to our table once we were seated, and good thing we weren’t thirsty because he never came around to refill our tea or soda. When he finally gave us our check we couldn’t wait to get out of there. We ended up going up front to pay because he disappeared.. again! We won’t be back.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday earlier this week and service was excellent. The portions are enormous which is good when you are planning on leftovers for the next days work lunch. They even sang him happy birthday and gave him a free dessert. The tacos I had were very good and I was impressed. Highly recommended!

Went with a few friends after work and what an experience! I must say that I am completely amazed. We were not acknowledge and the service took forever. Our food was not good and when I went to pay, I was told my ccard was declined. I was told by the manager it was because It was my first time there and I wasn’t a regular client. So I can say that I wont become a regular customer!

Wow. Finally we have found a place to get a decent Mexican meal. We moved from CA recently and come from big Mexican families, so yes. We are Mexican food snobs. We have tried several places and have left utterly disappointed… until today.
The chips and salsa were delicious and come with a side of this amazing spicy cole slaw (mix with a little salsa and you get magic). We were still a little apprehensive before our meal arrived because I mean, it’s hard to screw up chips.
Our meal arrived and I timidly took a small bite. I looked up at my husband and smiled a little… rice, check. On to the beans, wow. Check. My kids meanwhile were happily crunching through their ground beef tacos.
Now for the kicker. My husband said (and this is a big deal) that the chili rellenos were as good as his mom’s. I don’t take the comment lightly, they must have been damn good to get a compliment like that from someone who doesn’t like eating any Mexican food that isn’t his mama’s.
Overall, we were incredibly happy with our Sunday lunch visit and will definitely be back when we need a little comfort food.

We have been here several times in the past and today will be our last time. It’s unfortunate because the restaurant has gone downhill in terms of the quality of their food compared to before. I’m not too sure what happened, but there’s definitely a difference.
We had to wait close to an hour for our food today. Yes, it was a very busy time when we went but other people seated after us were getting their food before we were. The food when it finally did get to our table was cold and unappetizing. The taste was not what we were expecting and we left over 75% of our food on the plate. We noticed that a family seated near us did the same and left majority of their food untouched.
It was a very disappointing meal. We will not be returning.

We reserved the banquet room three weeks ahead of time for our party. My wife and I went there to look at the room and confirmed the reservation. I called two days prior to confirm one last time.
So what do you think happend… They had the room filled with people eating.
They room eventually cleared except one table that they just sat in the room. I asked the owner if he was going to ask them to move to the main restaurant area and he said no. So I took it upon myself to ask them if they would be willing to move.
While I do agree It was not my job too do this, I did it anyway because the owner refused to. The couple was happy to move and we even bought them each a drink for their troubles.
The owner was very angry at me and insisted that I never made reservations. He called me a liar in front of my guest and even went out of his way to talk to one of my guest. He told them I was a liar and that I never made reseratios.
I kept my cool and approach the owner after the event was over and all my guest were gone. I asked to see the reservation book. There was my name showing I booked the banquet room. I explained that we all make mistakes. So you think he would say sorry, right… No sorry. He blamed me and and even went to say that just because I reserve the banquet room does not mean I get it.
When my wife tried to calm the situation, he smirked and chuckled at her.
This guy is a class A jerk. All he had to do was say I’m sorry and let’s make it rigth. Instead he wanted to insult me in front of my guest and to show no respect to my wife. We spent over $ 1,000 that night and he will never get another dime from me again.

Burritos are good. Very flavorful. I got the table side guacamole and it was alright; but very small amount for such a big bowl. The price is way to much for the portion size. Not bad mexican food. But still needs improvement.

My favorite Mexican dish is arose con pollo. Puerto Vallarta has mastered it! Ask for it to have mushrooms, onions, green peppers, olives, and add cheese to it. Of course there is rice, a lovely red sauce, and lots of tender chicken!
I’ve ordered arose con pollo at many other Mexican Restaurants around the country, but None match the wonderfulness of theirs.
Our waitress was very friendly, attentively took our order and followed up with us, ensuring our satisfaction.
The restaurant is appointed nicely with a wonderful, open and airy feeling of Mexico!

Servers are always friendly, sometimes a little slow but they’re aware of that and acknowledge it by either apologizing or thanking you for being patient.
We’ve only had carne asada. That was what we ordered the first time we came in and it is so delicious we cannot move past it!
Their drinks, are DRINKS. Not complaining but wow! It is plenty more than a heavy pour.

Made a big order for before the Hawks game. All 3 kids meals were wrong (so they just had beans and rice. Also several other errors. Called and they said they would remake the meals if I drove back down… um…no…
So I guess I’ll no longer go there…
Sad how bad this place has become…

Used to love this place until they served me this garden salad. The beer tastes like crap for some reason and our server was so slow.

The food here has always been pretty good. I really like their buffet. But the service for small groups has progressively gotten worse. Recently we went for happy hour on the back patio so we could eat outside. I felt like I was walking to the back alley of a where people smoke and dump their butts and spit. All the tables were scattered like a truck hit them. Banners faded fallen down and sloppy and weeds litter and boxes scattered every where we and two other tables left because it was so bad. So much potential here and a minimum-​wage employee can make this place look amazing in back in one hour
