Best BBQ on that I have tried on the north shore. The Pulled Pork is so good that it does not require BBQ sauce. The smoked sausage links have a nice little kick. The sides are not ignored like most BBQ places. The Mac and Cheese, and the Baked Beans were great. Unfortunately, the Beef Brisket was overcooked and very dry. Would have given 5 stars if brisket had been cooked better. The server acknowledged and rectified the error. We will be back. By the way, their Alabama Sauce goes great with the Fried Okra.

This is the coolest bbq place I’ve ever been to! The food rocks! We got brisket sandwiches with the smoke fries. Their homemade bbq sauces were amazing! The interior design /branding is on trend! Highly recommend!

I pass by all the time and with the poor reviews I was hesitant to give smoke a try. I finally stopped and glad I did! This is some of the better BBQ I have eaten in a restaurant, which is not easy to pull off. I had the fried pickles which is enough to share with 4 people. The ribs were tender but«not fall off the bone» which they should NOT… as this means they are overcooked. The ribs were delicious with enough smoke. The brisket was done very well, could use just a little more au jus for me. I had for sides greens and Mac and cheese both were okay, I’ll try something different next visit Overall I was very impressed and will return you just can’t tell my husband who is a BBQ competitor!

This restaurant is mediocre at best. The staff was friendly and the service was good, but the food was mediocre. Anyone familiar with The Joint in New Orleans will notice that the menu is pretty much the same. However, I found the food to be much better at The Joint. Bottom Line: This is a step-up for Covington, but The Joint alone is worth the drive to NOLA!

Quick dinner tonight after cooking all day in preparation for Thanksgiving. Ordered Smoke BBQ to-go for pickup. Wow, an awesome meal. Brisket was so moist & tender. Smoke Chicken wings were plump, moist and oh so smokey. Had the fries, Cole slow, and grits as sides. All were very plentiful and scrumptious. We also ordered the fried pickles… cannot believe the quantity you get. But not just the amount, they were crisp wafers of picklie goodness that came with a light dill dipping sauce. This was our second trip to Smoke BBQ, and we’ll be back again soon.

Awesome smoke fries, great brisket and pork. Boiled peanuts a little too salty. The sandwiches were served on a ice cold bun – RUINEDTHEEXPERIENCE — COMEONGUYS show you have some care and pride in what comes out of the kitchen, throw the bun on the flattop for 30 seconds. Hate to be rough but I want the owner to see this and go back in the kitchen and correct the youngsters prepping and plating the food and have them do it right, it makes a difference.

Smoke has finally got their stuff together! For years Louisiana was an epic wasteland when it came to real deal, good BBQ. Luckily for us, that has changed as of late with several great BBQ restaurants in New Orleans, but I longed for something closer to home. Now that Smoke has opened and gotten their stuff together, I predict frequent visits by yours truly. Smoke is located in an old bank building. Inside is a long narrow room with tables on both sides. There is also an outdoor deck area with more tables out front. One think I particularly like is that Smoke is a full service restaurant with servers who take your order at your table. I’m not opposed to ordering at a counter, but they separate to-go and dine-in customers which seems to smooth out the whole process of getting your food. The food is good to very good. On my first visit the brisket was wet and not very good. I attribute that to grand opening kinks that needed to be worked out and I was right. My last two trips the brisket has been smokey, cooked perfectly and with that good firm bark I’ve grown to love. I’ve had the beans, potato salad and mac n cheese side and all were good, but didn’t blow me away. Of the three, I think I liked the beans the best. The chunks of smokey meat mixed in definitely added something to that item. The dish that I absolutely cannot get enough of is their smoke fries. Imagine fries topped with smoked cheddar, green onions, bacon, and burnt ends. Hell Yes! The fries come with a side of horseradish ranch, but go ahead and eat them plain or with BBQ sauce. I never before imagined fries with burnt ends, but holly hell that is awesome. The order is plenty so get it to share or take some to go. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself eating them on the way home. My last visit to Smoke was to pick up to go food. It was a dark and stormy night with the remnants of Hurricane Patricia coming through the area. The last thing I wanted to do was get out and walk through torrential downpours to get my food, but I had a serious brisket craving. It is as if Smoke knew this day was coming so when I placed the order they advised me of their drive through window. Located behind the restaurant at the site of the old bank drive thru there’s a covered and weather resistant drive thru. No longer do you have to venture in the weather to get god BBQ. Hell, you could probably pull up in a robe and get BBQ. Maybe I’ll test that theory on my next visit. If you find yourself on the Northshore and want good BBQ, check out Smoke. I love this place.

Went their two times now. First time I ordered pulled pork sandwich. Sandwich was okay, but nothing really special. I could probably make a similar meal at my home with a little time. Fries tasted good but were small and looked like they came from the end of the basket. Second time their was terrible. Mac and cheese tastes like melted Kraft with some shells. Brisket was cooked well but tasted terrible. My wife’s pulled pork was way to fatty and greedy to the point of her not even wanting it. Baked beans tasted like the came out of a can. Having been their twice now I can say that I will not be trying it a third time. The staff seem nice, but the bbq is just not good.

I clearly don’t agree with the 4.8−5.0 rating. Very high priced for the food presented.(1) Coleslaw was bland,(2) BBQ beans tasted like Van Camp beans overcooked with extra stuff thrown in,(3) Chicken was undercooked, Smoked sausage was spicy but on its way to being jerky,(4) BBQ sauce was watered down. One I had to shake because the sauce separated from the water,(5) dried out white bread instead of a roll you might expect,(6) unless I missed it there is no beer, it was comfortable tonight but cooling seems to be an issue with 3 fans running in the dining room with a portable A/C unit when you walk into the entrance. Rickie says my 2 stars is a bit high. I wouldn’t starve but do not plan on ever going back. I clearly wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

My daughter and I ate there for lunch. The place was busy and parking is a little confusing. We shared the 3-meat combo plate with ribs, brisket and chicken. Sides were mac&cheese, potato salad and cheese grits. Brisket and ribs were good. The chicken we weren’t sure was fully cooked. The mac&cheese we couldn’t eat. Not sure what was wrong with that. The grits and potato salad were good.

Place is cute and clean and staff is very friendly. The meat was cooked well but the bbq sauce was terrible! Tasted like straight vinegar. Tried several different ones with the same result. If you go here, do yourself a favor a bring some Sweet Baby Rays sauce!

I have been twice now and absolutely love this place! The first time I had The Sauier, a sandwich with big fried onion rings on top. My friend had the brisket and we shared, both were great. My second trip I tried the daily special, brisket tacos. So good I think they need to put it on the menu! My favorite sides are the okra, fries and the baked beans. We also had the fried pickles and the cheese fries as apps– to die for. The atmosphere and branding is hip and eclectic. Between the food, staff and atmosphere I am definitely going to keep coming back!

Need to update their hours in this app– was very excited to try the bbq with friends for dinner… arrived at 5:30pm. NOTOPEN has the hours taped over on the door staying they close at 2:30 everyday — disappointed. Three other vehicles pulled in behind us so they are losing business. Will try to make it for lunch

Four star in bbq category. Lunch Ate: Fried pickles Pork skins Pulled pork sandwich(called saucier??) Brisket –pulled pork plate Collard greens Cole slaw The place is a double wide trailer that used to be a hibernia bank and a thai reataurant. They completely re did it with a sophisticated rustic look. Painted it blue. Added garage doors. Funked it up a bit. Added some big letters in front that say BBQ with lights around it. Nice change. All dishes have an originality. They serve on big wax paper lined metal trays. The food is original and creative but firmly on the bbq track. The fried pickles aren’t pickles from a vlasic jar. They pickled these themselves. The pork skins are big and real crunchy. The cole slaw is different from typical sysco fare. Brisket was cooked well. The meats were just smokey enough. The sandwich had fried onion rings on it that were very good by themselves. Homemade Sauces are on the table. Everything here is home made. You can tell they are trying. That, combined with good taste and a sense of what the market needs(and wants), tends to produce positive results. And this place does. I was surprised to see the crowd but now that I ate there, I’m not. It’ll stay crowded. Nice job.

MEMOTOSMOKEMGMT: GOTODALLAS, VISITLOCKHARTSMOKEHOUSEANDPECANLODGETOUNDERSTANDHOWTOCOOKBRISKET. Have been hoping for a good smokehouse in Covington. Ribs were good, the brisket needs some help — it was tough and dry. Place is very new so maybe that will improve with time. Sides were good and the different sauces were very good. Will definitely be back, just work on the brisket a bit. Updated 2−13−16: no change, they still do not have much of an idea how to cook brisket properly. Ribs are pretty good though. Probably my last time here.
