I live in the neighborhood of this Starbucks. I have been going to this one since it opened. I used to go more, but in the last couple of years, I have not been a regular. Several years ago, I had to make a police report on one of the servers who stole my credit card and went out on a shopping spree. She ended the spree with a lavish meal at White Castle. She was fired. And I did not press charges because I felt sorry for her. I knew she had a baby who needed medical attention. This particular SBs is not a real SBs… it’s part of the Northern KY Convention Center. They have the SBs coffee and all the other goofy things you can buy to let everyone know you’re a SBs aficionado… but the Northern KY Convention Center sets the hourly wage for their servers. I won’t even call them baristas because that is way too pretentious. Anyway, they get the lowest wages of any fast food worker around. I’ve talked to them all through the years about how cheap the Convention Center is… BUT they charge the most of any other SBs around for their drinks. Typical. I asked once for a friend how much servers make at the Convention Center and was told $ 9 an hour. I presumed plus tips but NO. The Convention Center keeps the tips! So. today I stop in and order a double latte. $ 4.03. I did not have the .03 and told the hideous server Nate that they should have a penny jar… I said you have a tip jar… so why not help out people who don’t want to break a bill for 1,2 or in my case, 3 cents? He started slamming everything around and was visibly upset. I’ve had an altercation with him in the past. Usually, when I see he is working, I keep going. He’s a server with an attitude for sure. This guy has the filthiest rasta hair I’ve ever seen. And he’s always putting his fingers in the mess and scratching his head …then he makes your drink. I won’t leave tips when they charge more than anyone else around. Why should we? Do we tip fast food employees? If someone is making $ 7.50 an hour like they are at SBs in Covington, they should find another job. I refuse to tip someone who hands me a coffee! I took his picture and told him, «You’re getting UnilocalED». Then, I can’t find my keys which I put down when I took his picture… I know he or the other one working took them and probably threw them away. I will be filing a police report next. Make sure if you don’t tip Nate(Filthy Head), you have your keys with you. And there is a great coffee shop a block away called Roebling Point Bookstore where they are happy to have your biz and they do have a coin tray for pennies.

This is not a Starbucks to hang out in. It is pretty small, with only about 5 or 6 high top chairs at a counter. It mostly serves local business people and visitors to the convention center. Parking is not convenient, so it is unlikely you would go there if you weren’t already in the area for something else. They carry the typical Starbucks baked goods, but none of the breakfast sandwiches. It also is not a company store, so if you have a Starbucks card and get a free drink after every 12 purchases, you can’t redeem your free drink at this location. What really saves this Starbucks for me, though, are the baristas. Because I work in the area, I frequent this Starbucks. The baristas always make me great drinks, and often I am able to tell them a basic drink(coffee, espresso, or tea and hot or cold) and they make me a wonderful new creation. It is only because of my two favorite baristas that I go to this Starbucks as much as I do.

This starbucks changed their hours, and usually have the same staff in the morning, so my drinks are pretty consistant! they are fast and friendly. No parking, so I double park and hope there is no line inside lol

It’s Starbucks, but one of those that make you say ‘ok’, not ‘yay’. What I mean with that is that it’s not your Starbucks with comfy couches where you feel ok hanging around for hours… It’s more the type of Starbucks where people quickly grab a coffee and leave again. I went in on a mid-afternoon during the week and no one else was sitting inside. There seemed to be another area with tables but the light wasn’t on so I assumed it wasn’t ok to go there so I ended up sitting on one of the high chairs facing the street. My lemon cake and hot chocolate were ok but it didn’t give me the relaxing experience I had hoped for. Still, it’s good to know it’s there during the week when I want a Starbucks product. Before 4pm that is of course…
