I love Steve’s Ace Hardware on 190 in Covington. Yesterday when I needed plumbing advice, they found the parts I needed, gave me instructions on how to fix it and rang up my purchase all in less time than finding a parking spot and the plumbing department in the big box stores up the street.
They did not talk down to me because I am a woman and were very encouraging.
I often find better cleaning supplies and better quality hardware products here too.

Steve’s is a small local hardware store up the street from the big boys (Lowes and Home Depot).
Steve’s seems to be pretty well stocked with hardware essentials, but I was in the market for one thing; a Mardi Gras ladder.
I have put off owning a MG ladder for years, but I finally lost the battle. Steve’s ladders are well built, but seemed a little expensive. It was around $ 120 with tax and comes with wheels for easy dragging to and from the parades.
The safety strap kept the kids secure and they enjoyed being up high to watch the parade.
The staff at Steve’s were very friendly. I recommend this place and hope more people frequent their store.
