I’m giving this a 4⁄5 simply because the table service is sub par, however the FOOD is AWESOME! The burgers are great and the SAUERKRAUTBALLS are delicious. If you come in for a few drinks, bar service is good. However, if you sit at a table for dinner, its a little slow. Overall, I love this place. Plus, live music 7 nights a week, as well as drink specials!

Packed house when we were there. Little smokey in the bar. Great prices, fun bar to stop in for a little.

Came here for drinks. On the day where Germany killed Brazil in the world cup(FIFA). What followed? Drinks. Lots of drinks. We did however order some menu items, other than drinks. We ordered Sauerkraut balls. What did I think? If you were intoxicated and you wanted to chew on something, this would be it. It didn’t really have any flavor and it came with some thousand island dressing. I also wanted to note that this place is smoke friendly. So, if you’re not into smoking, I probably wouldn’t suggest coming here. However, it seems like there’s an old crowd atmosphere here and I definitely don’t think that’s a bad thing. This is a small place, I wouldn’t be a regular but I could see how you could become one. I think Strasse is a long-time patron based bar, everyone knows everyone and when new people come they are nice and want to get to know you. The community sense is what was good in my opnion that you just don’t usually get at other places.

Not sure about the bar scene most reviewers are commenting about as we stopped in for lunch. Standard bar food but good nonetheless. I had the BBQ burger and my wife had the black bean burger. We were both satisfied and loved the fries. Atmosphere, as many people noted, is probably the biggest problem here. We sat on the patio so smoking was expected. The inside was pretty much a dive bar so I’m sure we wouldn’t have eaten here if it wasn’t a beautiful day. Service was pretty slow and not very attentive.

Terrible Terrible Terrible! This used to be a great place to go but the owners and management have gotten lazy. Unless you are one of the folks that sits in this depressing dark dreary bar everyday drinking the swill you will stand at the empty bar waiting for the bartenders attention. After they are done taking care of the regulars, texting, going to the kitchen to bullish** with the cooks, and smoking a cigarette they may take your order but not without an eye roll or two. This bar used to be one of my favorites and my running club has visited this place A LOT over the years and spent a lot of money here but I will never be back. Bad management, lazy bartenders, bad food, and overpriced beer. Skip this bar and go to any of the other places in mainstrasse.

Sauerkraut Balls are amazing and are a most have when you come here. The is live music all the time and the drinks are priced very well $ 5 jagerbombs! The outdoor patio with garage door is very nice in the summer time to have drinks and listen to the different live bands they have their. My own problems with this place is the amount of smoke, it’s like a cloud of smoke looming over your head the whole time. Everything you are wearing will smell like a an ashtray. So just be prepared for that otherwise great bar.

I go to Strasse haus a ton during the week. Tuesday nights Eric the bartender is great, also awesome acoustic music by Matt. Great atmosphere always a good night! cheap small beers, and also the shot little beers is my favorite I have to have them every time.

Dropped in here on a Tuesday night for a couple of «night caps» and found a very nice place, but one thing was bad is that the smoking stunk up this place. Average selection of beers. Just a bar. as i see it.

So, after a few cheap micros at the Village — we sauntered across the street to the Haus — following the alluring tones of a live«band» playing. Thursday nights spotlight«The Fibbs» and to tell you the truth; I so enjoyed it. A few covers in(red solo cup was a fail) and 2 hoppy drafts later — I am sure I yelled out«BLACKKEYES». The next song was«HOWLINGFORYOU» with an interesting beatbox percussive piece by a crowd member. Sporadic dancing. Eclectic gathering of neighborly souls. Not decadent but dependable. Now, on the flip side — there can be quite a bit of drama that accumulates. I have seen fiascos, fights, and fracas — but — hey. It’s a bar… You never know what will happen — i.e. — Colorado. If it is crowded; that is a great sign. BTW — great sunrise burger. Fried egg on top. Good prices; a bit smokey; but all in all — I’m a fan!

I am not a fan of establishments that have indoor smoking as I do not like smelling like an ashtray after a night of drinking, dancing, and having fun. On a positive note they had live music and drinks were fairly priced. I won’t be back unless a friend is having an event there and even then it better be a good friend because I would not go back to Strasse Haus for a casual acquaintance. Good for Smokers!

Great food and great people. Staff is very friendly. Good beer selection, not the best, but good. On a bad note, this place is downright terrible on a weekend night. Tons of «bros» and a lot of fights break out. Also the bar is very understaffed and struggles to handle such a large weekend crowd. If shaking your ass inside or listening to a cover band in the outside area(cash bar only out there) are your things then give it a chance… just watch out for the fists that will eventually fly.

It is such a great set-up, but such a bad experience. The crowd is rowdy, and it seems that every weekend the cops are having to break up a fight or arrest someone there. And it takes about an hour to get a drink in that place. After muscling through a couple of old people in leather jackets, finally getting the attention of the swamped bartender, and finding a place to stand without being bumped into by some frat bro who’ll want to fight… I’m too worn out to have a good time. And the band outside always sucks. Always. I don’t know who does the booking, but they have awful taste. AC/DC cover band? Really? Not my jam.

I use to frequent this place in my 20’s. I still like the place but I only go there for drinks. I couldn’t tell you how the food is anymore. It was good but your typical bar food except the krautballs, which were great.

Great food, great drink prices and great staff. Love the live music. The late night clientele are a little young for me but this is my favorite place in Main Strasse!

This is my favorite bar in the Mainstrasse district. I’ve been going to Mainstrasse for years but just recently moved to the area. I’m within walking distance of everything and have made the rounds during the week and weekends– Strasse Haus is always the best place to hang out. They always have good prices and there is usually live music in the outside area. Try the shot«Little Beers» while you’re there… delicious…

This place is solid. It’s got a good male/female ratio like much of mainstrasse and the drinks are cheap compared to a place like Cock and Bull down the street. The bar is, décor wise a complete bomb though. The only thing German about this place is the name and it’s extremely crowded on weekends. They have a really nice garden area but have fun standing all night because seats are few and far between. Overall a decent place if you just want to walk around and mingle while having a beer.

pros: cheap drinks, nice staff, nice and dimly-lit cons: the back room is a garage. i felt like i was back in high school, splitting a six pack between the three of us and trying to hide from someones parents. not a bad place to go, but overall, its really not very interesting.

For a bachelor party, this completely suited our needs. Fairly cheap drinks, fairly loud noise, and a fairly nice outdoor courtyard which was not at all separated from the back room, so the entire area felt open. If you liked the song that the cover band was playing(and they were most excellent for a cover band, nailing renditions of «Mr Jones» and other 90s classics), you could quickly dash to the front and make a fool of yourself. Or you could slip back out into the summer night and relax around the patio tables, watching the goings on in Main Street through the grated fence. It was nothing fancy, but it was a fun setting, and what is remembered is remembered fondly.

Strasse Haus is your pretty standard MainStrasse bar, though the crowd tends to be a little bit older than the college crowd at Pachinkos or Cosmo’s. There’s a large patio open year round(covered in the winter, course) and pool tables upstairs. On the weekends, they often have local cover bands or a DJ spinning Top 40’s tunes. While the bar itself is not a standout in my opinion, a few of their food items are. In particular, Strasse Haus’s sauerkraut balls are wunderbar! Forget Hofbrauhaus’ flavorless version. Strasse Haus’s savory appetizer is filled with cream cheese, sausage, sauerkraut, which is then deep fried and served with 1000 island dressing. Since 5 balls only cost $ 4.95, order a double batch and share with your friends. I don’t think I’ll be hanging out at Strasse Haus for cocktails, but I’ll definitely go back from their yummy deep-fried treats.
