I am actually on property as I write this, sitting in the lounge area on the third floor contemplating my next snack. What a stunning spot. Hollywood fame aside, this bed and breakfast is EXACTLY what I’m looking for in an out-of-pocket Select Registry property. Honestly, I didn’t want to go home today after a couple of weeks of traveling. So, a quick search led me to the grand porch and front entry of Twelve Oaks. Travis and Chris are the immaculate hosts of a just as immaculate property. The finest details are accounted for, down to the linens, L’Occitane bath products, and gas fireplaces in each room. I was going to stay the evening, I’ve just extended to 2 – 3 nights(in a couple of different room types). Come to Covington; you won’t be disappointed if you start your stay at Twelve Oaks.

This bed and breakfast was everything we imagined it would be. The home was outstanding, the rooms were comfortable and stunning, and the staff was over the top friendly and accommodating. And the breakfasts! It was like eating at a 5 star restaurant! I am still dreaming about the apple cinnamon pancakes, biscuits and gravy, applewood smoked bacon and the stuffed french toast. Everything was delicious! The area surrounding The Twelve Oaks was gorgeous and so much fun to explore. We went on day trips that were less than a half hour away. We also enjoyed exploring Covington’s town, restaurants, and the historical homes. It was a great getaway and we will definitely visit again! Put this B&B on your list!

We thought we picked the best room by the pictures, but we did get to see many of the rooms and they are all great. Splurge on one with a special tub or shower if you can. Breakfast was wonderful. The owner is very interesting and accomodating. I have never been to a bed and breakfast and it is very nice to just hang out in your room, on the porch or be pampered with breakfast and not feel like you need to leave your hotel. You are walkable from the town square and historic homes. There is also an abby 20 min away which is beautiful. Perfect for a stress free getaway.

Upon arriving we were promptly greeted and shown to our room(The Salvatore Suite) and then escorted to the lounge where they had a platter of various cheeses, crackers, and salami along w/a red and white wine option. This was a really great touch, as we had just gotten off the road from a three hour drive but wanted to browse around the gorgeous property, in the remaining sunlight, before heading out to dinner. When we came back we were able to relax with a small fire in the fireplace that was in our room which was perfect because it was getting chilly outside by then. In the morning we went into the dining room and helped ourselves to juice and coffee and were promptly served a great meal w/eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, and some of the best bacon I’ve ever had. I absolutely love the house and everything about my stay.

From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. John greeted us like an old friend, while we got situated and had wine and cheese before seeing the town. We could come and go as we pleased, and when they heard it was a getaway for my teen daughter(she’s a huge fan of The Vampire Diaries AND historic homes and towns), John and Nicole went out of their way to mark all of the ‘hot spots’ on a map! We stayed in the Salvatore Brothers’ suite… so roomy and comfortable… breakfast was amazing(homemade preserves and biscuits and sausage gravy… yum). Everything was beautiful and perfect… amazing time!

I literally JUST walked in the door from the airport and had to sit down and write this review. That’s how much I loved this place. Now, to start off, I came to Covington to see the Vampire Diaries tour with my mother. We’re both big fans. We had heard that the B&B was in a set home from the show, so we thought it would be the perfect way to cap off our trip. However, I want to be very clear that this place will appeal to ANYONE. It’s got the touches to be delightful to a Vampire Diaries Fan, but it’s not themed in the way you might think. We stayed in Katherine’s Mirror Image Suite, which is absolutely gorgeous. There’s a comfy queen bed, a GORGEOUS claw foot tub, a ribcage shower, and a converted gas fireplace. I really enjoyed soaking in the tub(which has a cool attachment so I could read a book) with the fire roaring. If you’re a Vampire Diaries fan — you’ll want to note that the shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash have vervain in the them. Pretty neat! The TV in our room was equipped with WiFi and hooked up to Amazon, so we could actually log in with our Amazon accounts and stream anything we wanted. That’s a total step up from $ 14.95 rentals at a hotel. The feel of the house is very relaxed. Right outside our room, there was a small porch with two rocking chairs — the perfect place to read on a nice day. There’s also a large wraparound porch on the main floor that would be a great place to catch some sun or even bundle up and enjoy hot chocolate on a colder day. The decorations indoors are gorgeous. I spent a good 30 minutes walking around and photographing the charming details. At 5pm, they offer a wine and cheese happy hour. It was nice chance to sit in the formal living room and meet with the owners as well as the other guests. Around 7pm, we were brought cold bottled water and chocolate to say goodnight — what a nice touch :) This morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast of stuffed French Toast. They also have some bikes on property that guests can use. I think that’s pretty cool, because the main square is only a little more than a half mile away. I can’t go on enough about how much I love this place. The service is EXCELLENT and the accommodations are above and beyond. I feel lucky to have spent one night there! I’m planning to go back for my next long weekend so I can enjoy more time there :) Also — the price is pretty good! It’s certainly not the budget price you’d get at Motel 6, but we paid less to stay than we did in a large hotel in Atlanta. The B&B is only 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta, so I wish we’d stayed here for our entire trip and just done the drive rather than deal with Atlanta in-city traffic every day.

Spectacular and worth every penny! Nicole and her family were the perfect hosts. Our room, the Salvatore Study, was completely charming and elegant. The house is amazing! A true gem! We will definitely be return here. Highly recommended!
