Free Slurpie day!!! yay!!!
Except for the fact that they put the miniscule ‘free’ cups diametrically opposite the slurpie machine on a bunting/​decorated table with no signage except for the price for a ‘hot dog combo’, and then when the kid goes reflexively to the machine and takes the smallest cup, they ring you up for not using the ‘free’ slurpee cup.
Now, at this point of the day it has just turned 6 pm, so i can’t imagine that was the first instance where they ‘had’ to to charge for the inventory, but all in all it looks like a pathetic ‘bait & switch’ by 7 – 11.
i’d be curious to know how many ‘small’ regular slurpees they sold today given the ‘free’ slurpee promotion and then the switch at the cash register.
the blond behind the counter sort of smirked as i made the point, but we paid for the ‘free’ slurpee and a bag of hot dog rolls and got out of there.
this used to be a nice store, but I think it went back to corporate owned a year or so back. lost its identity and minimizes the brand.
good luck with future promotions! haha i’ll spend money at Sheetz instead.
