Hobby Express

While the stock and variety of items Hobby Express sells is great, the people are repulsive. Terrible customer service, rude employees, and extremely overpriced. Not worth the trip in my own opinion. Try Amazon first.

Excellent service, great folks, competitive pricing.
Thanks to a tip online, I was led to this shop to order a hard-​to-​find model train item.
Calling from the Left Coast, I first looked up their store hours online. Open until 9pm EST most nights. Must be nice to have a shop open this late for last-​minute needs!
The folks there on the phone were very friendly. The person who answered — Sean, was not from the model train section, but was still very effective in confirming what I wanted was in stock. He physically went out to the shelves to verify that the time I wanted was on hand, and stated the price, which was pretty fair — not the cheapest, but still at least 10% below MSRP.
After calling back to place my order, I spoke to a different person, And. that nice person on the phone even gave me a really nice break on shipping! Awesome!
Epilogue: They were very quick to ship. I received my item via USPS Priority Mail in perfect shape two days later. The item was well-​packed and withstood the rigors of the postal service.

How does this place not have any prior reviews? This is the best hobby store I have ever been in! They have toys for all ages, a little shy on the role playing products but tons of models, trains, airplanes, rc cars and boats. I was impressed with their inventory of sci-​fi and war models. The have a lot of hard to find items on the shelf. Kudos to then for stocking all of that. Too bad I do not live close or this would be a regular store for me.
