If I had known they had no means to cook my breakfast sandwich I would have stuck with a bagel with cream cheese. Microwaved eggs made for a mediocre sandwich but the guys behind the counter were really friendly and efficient. They just really need to invest in a grill. Overall not the worst I’ve had but far from the best. Note: my partner had a bagel and raved about its deliciousness.

This was literally one of the worst bagels/breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. First off, the place is a hole in the wall and has an awkward, uncomfortable set up. We went in there around 10am and they were out of everything and cinnamon raisin bagels. There were 2 young high school guys working in there– both of which were clueless. We said our order 3 times before we were told they were out of certain bagels. Then we were asked to repeat our order once more before he gave them to us. He clearly wasn’t listening to anything we were saying and didn’t write our order down. The total came to $ 8 for 2 breakfast sandwiches. While they were large, they were absolutely TERRIBLE. The bagels were chewy and doughy and I have no idea what type of ham they use because it is definitely not pork roll/Taylor ham. It also appeared to be slightly undercooked since the ham was flopping around. I choked down about a quarter of the sandwich because I was starving and then threw the rest out. Absolutely disgusting! We will never return here. Central Jersey has no idea what a good bagel is.

Cranbury Bagel Barn has the best bagels in the area. I work in Cranbury but live further north, and if I need bagels for the weekend, I’d rather buy them from CBB on Friday and have their day old bagels than fresh bagels from anywhere in my area. Not only are the bagels great, but so are their subs! I would definitely recommend that you try their chicken salad, but it’s very popular and they will run out sometimes due to high demand, so I always order that ahead. The best feature of Cranbury Bagel is their service! Nothing beats a family run business, especially one in which the service is quick, friendly and accommodating!

Bagel Barn was the best thing to happen to Cranbury. These are Staten Island bagels and their other baked goods are amazing. Vincent, the owner, does a lot of the baking and cooking and I like everything he makes. Prices reasonable, best place for cold cuts, they have Black Bear. I have had a few things catered by them and they are always excellent, portions generous. I go in there a lot and can always find an extra bagel or two in my orders. The Italian bread is the best in the area. Staff always friendly, place is very clean. Highly recommend, all my friends love this place.

The bagels were only so-so. Perhaps they ran out of the fabulous Staten Island bagels the other reviewers were agog over. The guy who took our money(the proprietor, perhaps?)put me off by staring at my husband and myself the entire time we stood there waiting for our bagels, as if we were there simply for his entertainment. No, «Nice day,» no, «How’d you folks hear about this fine establishment?» Nada. He just rudely stared. His mother should have taught him better manners. There’s just one table inside, and it was occupied by a man who was eating a large, dripping sandwich and reading a tabloid newspaper. As far as atmosphere goes, the Cranbury Bagel Barn rates a minus 1. The only bright spot is the sell Jarritos Mexican soda.

Yet another little Jem in cranbury. Love the bagels. Chewy and delicious. Variety of flavored cream cheeses. My favorite is an everything«flagel» with scallion cream cheese. If you can’t make it for breakfast stop in for lunch. I always get either the Italian sub, the bread is just as delicious as the high quality meat they use. Or if I’m lucky and they still have everything flagels. I get the turkey BLT on one. Never disappointed. Friendly staff. 5 stars would be in order if they had a grill for sure.

I wish I could say that I found another local gem, but nope. The kid behind the bagel counter seemed dazed and perplexed when I asked him for my order yesterday. He really knew nothing about the bagels – whether or not they had caraway seeds, etc. Not a huge selection of well, really anything here. Some donuts which looked tasty, but no gallons of OJ or different types of cream cheese – at least that I could see or this kid knew about. The guy who rang me up was very nice though. I hear there’s a good place in Plainsboro, but I’m still waiting to find a bagel place that really rocks. Not these huge, airy monstrous things that lack texture and taste(but are ok if you choose to toast them) – something with density and character like I used to get at TR Bagels in East Windsor back in the day.

Living in Cranbury, these guys have been a true gift to the community. Their dedication to serving quality food at an affordable price is welcomed and appreciated. Driving from Staten Island with fresh bagels daily to be open very early shows their commitment… service is fast and friendly. Thank you! (try their homemade pulled pork… outstanding!)

Cranbury Bagel Barn opened in April 2011 on Main Street(across from Gil & Bert’s). They serve fresh Staten Island bagels until they run out each day(the place is waaaay too small to make their own bagels, but the ones that are brought in are nice and fresh). There isn’t much seating, but in the nice weather there are benches and tables outside. In addition to bagels, there are homemade deli items like fresh mozarella and tomato salad, potato salad, etc. Service is friendly and quick, and they have some staples you can buy if you want to get all of your breakfast in one go(eggs, milk, cream cheese, drinks, etc). They also cater, though I haven’t tried that yet.
