I have been coming here as an event venue since I was a teenager. I came Here for proms and now as I’m older festivals and weddings. As an event space it’s pretty big and can hold a lot of People comfortably. There’s plenty of bathrooms and plenty of parking. The venue is clean and neat and appealing to the eye. If you need a place to book an event id recommend it.

Large open space with great decorations. Went here for a wedding. Staff was quick to clean up spillage on the dance floor. Bar was beautiful. Bathrooms were clean enough.

This RI institution allowed me, for the second weekend in a row, to be an honorary Armenian. Rhodes serves host to the annual Armenian Fest, sponsored by Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, and this year was no exception. The large facility really packs them in — with sufficient room for their Dinners, Pastries, Country Store, Sandwich Shop, Ararat Café, Falafel, Scratch Tickets, Silent Auction, Kiddie Corner, Video Games, Flea Market, Arts & Crafts, Gift Baskets, Liquor Booth, French’s Popcorn, Jewelry, Band, Hourly Raffle, Cultural Exhibit, Bookstore, Main Raffle and AYF booth sections. The live music, hourly raffles and friendly volunteers, keep my eyes fixed on the calendar, in anticipation of mid-November. And then of course there is the paklava… Ample parking — which may require a short troop in the cold — surrounds the iconic building, for almost as far as the eye can see. Great venue, regardless if you know a Garabedian or Krikorian. Even if I didn’t(know people with these surnames), I would still give the most accepting and welcoming cultural group in all of RI5 stars. When you compare Armenian charisma to any venue, it simply pales. Hence the 4 stars there.

The agency I work for had its annual event at the Rhodes this weekend. The staff was amazing, food was good, bartenders awesome… all in all a wonderful experience. We were very pleased and will not hesitate to hold our event here again next year!

We had our wedding reception here last year, never thought to review them on Unilocal until now. This is a beautiful and large event space, the photos do not do it justice. I loved the classic vintage feel of this place and the hardwood floors in the ballroom are gorgeous. The entire planning process was easy and stress-free and their tasting events were a lot of fun. They are not the cheapest venue around but when you compare what comes in their packages to other venues are offering, the Rhodes offers a whole lot more bang for your reception budget dollars! Oh and the food! The food was glorious! This is not your typical banquet hall food! From the salad to the entrees to the sliders we served at the end of the night, every part of our meal was delicious. Our family and friends are still raving about the food over a year later. If I had to get married again, the Rhodes would still be my #1 pick for venue!

Of course having lived in Rhode Island for the past 10 years, I’ve heard of Rhodes On the Pawtuxet. I’ve always associated this place as somewhere that would be very upscale, holding high class functions, weddings, fundraisers, etc. My first visit to Rhodes was this past weekend when I went to the Armenian Festival. I won’t get into the«festival» itself, but let’s just say I was less than pleased with what was provided to us. Rhodes itself is quite nice — but not at all what I was expecting. Perhaps it was just the way it was decorated and set up for the festival. Taking away all of that junk — I guess I can see it becoming a beautiful venue. You can tell there is history here — the layout is very open and unique and I especially enjoyed the 2nd floor foyer with the balcony overlooking the«grand ballroom.» I’m not going to shun Rhodes for any reason, but first impressions are lasting impressions and my first impression wasn’t at all what I had hoped it would be.

Good Beervana Fest here! A coworker convinced me to volunteer at Beervana, a craft beer festival. It’s smaller than the beerfest at the RI convention center, and limited to 1000 people. Rhodes on the Pawtuxet is the perfect sized venue for such an event. It’s just an event space for whatever you want, perfect for banquets, weddings, proms. There is a kitchen, stage area, and a cool mezzanine. I ripped up a bunch of tickets, slapped on a bunch of wristbands, and proceeded to be a floor monitor. I’m supposed to tell people where the bathroom is and keep an eye out for drunks falling over. I guess I kind of did that sometime in between visiting many of the 33 brewers’ tables collecting 2oz samples. I don’t know how your prom went, but I had a fun time at Rhodes drinking craft beers for free.

Attended the Armenian festival here last week, and found this historic building very impressive. Reminded me a bit of the way the Overlook Hotel looks in The Shining. I was impressed at how well everything is kept clean, and sparkling in this almost century old building that can accommodate thousands of people. There is an excellent hiking trail along the river near by.

Rhodes-on-the Pawtuxet Ballroom and Gazebo is a historic building in Cranston, Rhode Island on the Pawtuxet River. The Classical Revival building was constructed in 1915 by John O’Malley, John F. Weeks, and Henry F. Weeks and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It can accommodate 100 – 2,000. Wedding receptions. Proms. Seminars. Black-tie events. Festive gatherings. It can handle them all. Very cool. Very historic. Great name.
