This was my favored beach to take my dog to when I lived in Crescent City. But it is the most popular beach if you want a less populated beach try pebble beach

Any good road trip through the North Coast of California and Southern Oregon makes a stop at Crescent Beach, a remote crescent-shaped bay. This area is really for camping, fishing and appreciating the wilderness. Real isolation can be found in the back country trails and hard-to-reach beaches like nearby Endert’s Beach. Beach Front Park on the bay has a really cool playground, great for toddlers who have been cooped up in car seats all day. Good luck passing up the quirky roadside aquarium Ocean World, as your kids will spot the giant seal statue from the road. Not a lot of food here or amenities, and only a few motels.

This is an excellent beach for just about any activity. My family went there this week and we looked for shells and agates, drew pictures in the sand, and built sandcastles. We brought some fast food and ate lunch at the picnic tables overlooking the beach, and there is a bathroom nearby. There are also bbq grills available. The beach is also perfect for skim boarding, body surfing or fishing. All things we will do next time we visit.

This is one of my favorite beaches. It’s the kind of beach where you can lay back in the sand, listen to the waves, and let your mind drift. This is a long stretch of beach between South Beach and Endert’s Beach that has easy access, restrooms, off street parking, picnic tables, and nearby hiking trails. You won’t find surfers here, but lots of families splashing in the waves, jumping off the low bluffs, or exploring the marsh. One of my favorite things to do is look for snakes in the little creek draining out of the marsh(they are more afraid of you than you are of them, so don’t freak). Once, as I sat daydreaming and watching the waves, a helicopter flew past carrying a large piece of NASA equipment. It was kind of exciting. My little boy was more impressed with the snakes.
