At first we loved the service we were receiving. After we purchased our home everything changed. Our realtor stopped keeping in contact with us and went back on her word for things she said she would fix in our new home. Nice person but because she was both the seller and buyer’s realtor I feel she didnt represent us properly. We had to complete projects in the home that she said she’d have repaired.

Ana Potter-Re/Max Coastal Redwoods AWESOMEREALESTATEAGENT-AKEEPER Recently, my husband and I, traveled to Del Norte county, Crescent City in Northern California, and Southern Oregon to find a home in which to retire. We met with Ana Potter of RE/Max Coastal Redwoods in Crescent City, CA. We told her we were looking to spend between 150000 – 200000, wanted a 2−3BR, 2 Bath, large shop or garage and large yard-hoping for ½ acre+ if possible, fireplace a plus, hopefully with giant redwood trees. We wanted a private property if possible, but still very close to town so we could easily go and get stuff we needed. We preferred a stick built if possible, but knew our budget might require a manufactured or mobile home. Not only did she show us a number of homes in our price range and parameters, but always listened to our wants and needs. She was soft spoken, let us discuss among ourselves, look at homes without being 1 step behind us all the time, and answered all questions. What she didn’t already know, she was forthcoming about, and found the answers for us quickly. While we were a bit overwhelmed by the process of traveling 12 hours each way to travel to look at homes there, she took on calling city/county utilities, agents, owners, to ask questions for us, saving a ton of worry and questions-sometimes we weren’t even sure what to ask. When we had tendered an offer on a home, that was nice, but not exactly what we were looking for, and smaller than we wanted(.27 acre), she saw a couple of homes that we might like even more, and hesitantly told us. So glad that she did. This has made a huge positive impact on our lives. She called the listing agent, and seller, and got us permission to see a home that wasn’t yet back on the market. She risked her own commission on the previous deal we were ready to purchase, to show it to us, but we ended up with a beautiful 6 acre property, just out of town, private, with a fireplace, with tons of redwood trees, huge sunny grassy area to garden, wild blackberries, and an entire 5 acre forest to explore and create our own vision for 225000. The house needed work, but my husband is quite handy, so not a problem for us. It was a stick built 3BR, 2BA, with a huge 1200 shop and an extra-large barn besides. She arranged for qualified, licensed professionals to come by during the early process of looking at the home for free, giving us valuable insight to what would be needed and the costs involved. She arranged for quotes on additional work that we would like completed by contractors once escrow closed. She helped us make qualified contacts in town that were honest and knowledgeable, even multiple contractor quotes where necessary. At the end of the inspection process, she let us know that, if we wanted, we did not need to wait for the 30 days of escrow to be up as we were a cash offer, and when title was ready, we could close early. For us, being 750 miles from our other home, which meant that we would not have another 24 hours of extra driving, literally, for this sale-a real blessing. She helped us find our new retirement dream home, private, huge yard, huge shop, extra huge barn, a fireplace, lots of windows, in our own redwood forest, minutes from town and the Pacific Ocean. It was so nice to be shown homes by someone who shares our enjoyment of the natural beauty around you in this city. Finding an agent, can be a difficult thing. We have now, at our age, sold 2 homes, and purchased 3 including this one. On this time around, we had first tried an agent from another local Crescent City, CA office first, as well as Grants Pass, OR. The other local Crescent City real estate –not a RE/MAX office, showed us homes with mold in our price range, and said that nothing else except higher priced options out of town were available-almost 300,000 and wanted to up sell us since she saw we were a cash offer, and felt we could afford more. Ana was not like that at all. In the same time frame, Ana showed us several homes that fit our criteria and price range, that were not shown to us by the other agency. Ana Potter, was, by far, the most interested in helping us find what WE wanted, and not just trying to make a commission-honest, intelligent, hard-working agent, highly recommended-cared more about us than herself! Even while away on a holiday weekend, she was in touch with us regarding the progress of the current offer. Couldn’t ask for anything more. If you pick Ana Potter, you can’t go wrong, she cares & listens, and if the home is there, she’ll show it to you. She made me feel like I had a friend helping me along the way who knew this pretty little town. Sincerely, Christy Salmans
