Good sushi in a pinch and also great for the fact that it’s so close to my house, but as a self-proclaimed sushi connoisseur I must say three and a half stars. Unfortunately they don’t allow half stars, so I went with three. But that is by no means saying this is bad sushi. I’ve eaten here plenty of times. This is average or above average sushi. Better than Aodake or sushi train.

Me and my husband love going to Edo! They have the best Sushi! You would never expect it from a little place in Crest Hill. There are really not a lot of places to get Sushi out this way which is unfortunate. I used to live in Chicago so they were on every block. Edo also has amazing Beef, and Chicken teriyaki. You can call ahead if you want to have the Hibachi grill they do big parties. This is definitely be must try!

This is a good sushi spot for the area. It’s small, humble, and the staff actually speak japanese and play Jpop music. Sushi is fresh and they don’t use b. s fillers on every roll like excessesive cream cheese and rice. It’s not super fancy, and does not have the luxuries of a lot of newer sushi joints but the food is good and that’s what matters.

This place has gone downhill so bad. My husband really wanted to go here, mostly for nostalgia reasons(we used to go here when we were dating like 11 years ago) so we went for a early dinner. It was completely empty when we walked in. The people working there were not the same people that owned it back in the day. I’m assuming new ownership because the menu was different and the sushi was SOEXPENSIVE!!! Like $ 13-$ 15 a roll that had mostly rice, mayo and tiny portions of fish. It didn’t taste fresh and I didn’t appreciate the waitress staring at us as we ate. I was really hoping someone else would come so she would stop looking at us. We won’t ever be coming back and by the way the restaurant was so empty, I don’t think it is going to last much longer.

Was refused service because i have a service animal. The owner told me to leave, no pets. A svc animal is not a pet and i told the owner that. Also told him he was breaking the law by kicking me out. Called the cops on him. They are lucky thats all i did.

After reading reviews I was excited to try this place but to my disappointment the food was not good at all and my soft shell crab was burnt

I love the Philly Rolls and Salmon Rolls! It seem and tasted fresh. The Shrimp Fried Rice was delicious! The staff were friendly, I felt welcomed. Great hidden gem in the Crest Hill/Joliet area!

Spent 100 here got rude service. The owners wife looked like she was in pain anytime we asked for something. Food took forever. She offered refills after we had nothing to drink for about ten minutes. Spent most of her time in the back so hard to get anything from her. Good food but the womans attitude made us not want to come back.

We order from here quite a bit. I love the golden scallop roll it’s one of my favorite rolls ever that I’ve tried over my years, I will say this though sometimes I wish their rolls were rolled tighter. Will always go back for the golden scallop roll!

We went to this place because of the reviews… all I have to say what are you people talking about? Steak was almost hockey puck status, service was awful, and they couldn’t «do» hibachi style cooking for three people. Can only get egg yolk if you’re at the hibachi table… really? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though considering where this place is located.

Love the calla, Dallas, and Miami rolls. The sauce that comes with the shrimp fried rice is amazing. They’re so fast and the chef always comes around to ask how everything is. I love this place.

Their sushi is pretty good and their lunch combos are delicious. A little hole in the wall that sells decently priced Japanese food. So far this is pretty good for the area, I come here a few times a year for some sushi and bento lunch.

This review will be based only on the food because I only got takeout. When I did pick it up I noticed that the place was empty. The chef and(maybe) his wife were cheerful and so friendly. It was really nice, but besides that the place felt very depressing. As for the sushi. It was A-OK. Nothing special. I highly suggest to NOT get the shrimp tempura. Maybe it’s just a bad day but it tasted stale and chewy. The rest(Cho’s, Eel, Spicy Tuna) were okay but, as I’ve said, nothing great.

This place deserves 4 stars because the staff is just so darn friendly! Besides that the food was very good. The place itself seemed a bit old/dirty. Which is why it does not deserve 5. I would recommend this place for a tasty quick bite if they were passing through the area.

It’s OK… Not great. Wild Tuna in Naperville is better. So is Sushi Ya in Joliet. This is small inside and the service is not great. Sushi is OK to good. Lots of choices which is nice and they have a menu that tells you everything inside the rolls so there’s no asking or guessing. I warn you many of the rolls are fried and those taste like old grease. Make sure not to get those ones that are fried or have fried shrimp in them. Dallas roll was good and red Bull roll I liked.

I enjoy this place. Not much to look at but look who’s talkin’. Sushi is pretty good. Seems fresh. Serving size is good. Prices are fair. I was disappointed that they no longer have salmon roe, even though it’s still on the menu. Everyone is always nice.

I love Edo! This place is located in a dumpy little strip mall in Crest hill, but the food is pretty good! I love the asparagus rolls, seaweed salad(I stop often when I’m craving these), and sashimi. I can do without the rice. I just love the huge chunks of raw salmon. This place is pretty expensive, but then again so is just about any sushi joint. I place a lot of to go orders here as well. Check this place out! Don’t hate lol! Until next time!

Never had anything from here that wasn’t delicious and packed with flavor. If you want Sushi in the Joliet/Cresthill area you need to RUN here asap. Its the best sushi in the suburbs in my sincerely experienced opinion.
